OnePlus Nord N200

OnePlus Nord N200 Review, Pros and Cons – As of last year, OnePlus has started creating entry-level segment devices that provide decent features at value-added price ranges. Although they aren’t so good at first look, from their price perspective, they can be considered a decent smartphone. The company recently launched a budget phone called OnePlus Nord N200 5G. It is the successor to the Nord N100 and luckily offers 5G connectivity with the update.

The camera quality is just above a mediocre level, so you didn’t have to expect something extraordinary from the start. But overall, if you’re looking for a budget phone with 5G support, it’s worth the money. With that said, let’s move on to the detailed review of the OnePlus Nord N200 smartphone and find out if it’s really worth buying or not.

OnePlus Nord N200 Review

Highlights

  1. The slim front display is made of an LTPS IPS LCD panel that comes with a 90Hz refresh rate.
  2. You’ll get a triple camera setup that contains a 13MP main camera while a 16MP selfie camera.
  3. In terms of software rendering, the cool features of OxygenOS 11 match the Android 11 ecosystem.
  4. For the 5G connectivity option, the budget level 8nm Snapdragon 480 5G works like a powerhouse.
  5. There is a huge Li-Po 5000 mAh battery that comes with an 18W fast charging on top.

Design and Display

The OnePlus Nord N200 smartphone has the usual trademark design and although it has a built-in plastic frame that looks premium. In some ways, it resembles the OnePlus 9R, although you don’t have this nice texture here. Either way, you choose the Nord N200 smartphone in a single Blue Quantum color option.

Unfortunately, you will notice smudges stains from time to time, unless you need to put a cover on the back panel. Also, the phone looks a bit bulky due to the colossal size of the battery. That’s why the thickness reaches 8.3 mm. Surprisingly, it’s not as heavy as you think, as it weighs around 183 grams. Also, the design of the curved pattern looks great.

On the other hand, you will receive a 6.49 inches LTPS IPS LCD panel and, for that reason, a standard side-mounted fingerprint scanner is given. Luckily, you’re getting a 1080p resolution display instead of 720p, which is enough for a decent screen view. Plus, you’re also getting the blessing of a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.

Memory and Internal

The performance aspect of the OnePlus Nord N200 smartphone may not stand out much, but it is still able to accurately handle multitasking. Fourntley, you can play light games without any problem, but in extreme use heat issues start to appear due to low internal configuration and CPU. But on the other hand, software rendering via Android 11 based on OxygenOS 11 offers fabulous customization features.

However, there are few system bloatware presents besides, there are no specific problems. In terms of processing, you won’t face any problems in daily use, as the Snapdragon 480 5G chipset was created to provide exceptional user support. As for the graphic visual rendering, the Adreno 619 unit maintains this department with precision.

In the storage variant, you can get the Nord N200 phone in a single variant. Although, it seems enough for daily uses as it has 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage on top. Fortunately, you’re getting a dedicated secondary storage slot that will push the boundaries even further. In addition, you can also use cloud storage to store more data. In addition, UFS 2.1 memory support improves data readability and transfer speed.

Camera

As a cost-effective smartphone, the OnePlus Nord N200 5G may not be capable enough to bring out the top-notch camera experience. But, the overall camera setup can be justified and can make your day with the combination of AI software. Especially, the 16 MP front selfie camera is a good decision for users as you can capture the moments of your life to the fullest.

Although, the same thing can’t be expressed for the main camera because it relies solely on the 13MP main camera to bring together vivid color and quality. When it comes to low-light photography, you’ll get adequate but not good results to stand out from the competition.

On the other hand, the secondary camera set features a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor that handles the wide-range aspect of the camera. However, there is nothing special about them, you’ll get decent close-ups and portrait shots. Surprisingly, the OnePlus Nord N200 smartphone comes with gyro-EIS support, so you won’t have any problem shooting steady videos in 1080p.

Battery and Others

In terms of power supply, the Li-Po 5000 mAh battery can easily remain active for more than two days in standby mode and in usage simulations, the equivalent of 7 hours of battery life is present. Fortunately, you’ll also get a Type C 2.0 charging cable set and an 18W charger inside the box, while the Nord N200 will take almost two hours for the fuel battery.

By the way, you’ll get almost all of the software and sensor support that usually comes with the OnePlus phone, although there isn’t a unique sensor available. Even so, you are getting support for NFC and FM radio. Moving on to the price, the OnePlus Nord N200 5G only costs about $239 (Rs 17,000) approx, and at that price, it’s worth every penny you’re investing in it.
