Vivo Y31 pros and cons

Vivo Y52 Review, Pros and Cons – Typically, Vivo is known for its aesthetic designs and layout, but recently they are leaning towards the performance aspect as well. You may have heard of the Vivo Y series, which brings amazing features at an affordable price, if not you should check one of them. For today’s review, we have the Vivo Y52 5G smartphone, which is highly anticipated to enter the market as all companies are trying to make mid-range 5G devices.

Unfortunately, the smartphone is currently available in China and you have to wait until the phone hits the global stage. If not, then there’s a big chance that manufacturers will release a revamped version of this phone in India, possibly something like the Vivo Y21 2021. Anyway, like most mid-range 5G devices, the Vivo Y52 5G cuts some corners, which we’ll cover later in this article. But luckily you are getting better interface camera features. With that said, let’s move towards the detailed review of the Vivo Y52 smartphone.

Vivo Y52 Review

Highlights

  1. The Vivo Y52 5G comes with a 6.58 inches IPS LCD display which also brings a decent pixel density.
  2. On the performance side, the phone is accompanied by the Dimensity 700 5G chipset with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU unit.
  3. Get decent camera quality with a 48MP main camera setup with an 8MP selfie camera.
  4. The final software brings Android 11 OS with Funtouch 11.1 custom UI layer support.
  5. You will receive a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery that will follow the example of the 18W Fast Charging Block.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y52 smartphone features a glossy pattern design with an incredible camera island location, while the back panel can look a little aesthetic. Still, you’ll notice the same design format. But it is not the concern here as you can choose this phone in two exciting color variants. If you want a glossy finish the Glacier Blue color is a good choice.

On the other hand, the Shiny Black color comes with the usual professionalism. The phone weighs 193g despite it has a massive battery under the hood. Either way, the plus point of the 20:9 aspect ratio also offers a greater grip on the device. In addition, the company offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as a safety factor.

As for the front screen, the 6.58 inches IPS LCD display has a decent amount of color and sharpness for the front screen, while the saturation might look weak compared to the AMOLED panel. But even so, the viewing experience would be more impressive overall. However, there are few things that the Vivo Y52 smartphone cuts off some standard items like advanced upgrade and gorilla glass coating to keep the phone price low.

Memory and Internal

On the hardware side, the processing capability comes through the 7nm Dimensity 700 5G chipset. This chipset is more like a downgrade version compared to the Snapdragon 720G chipset. But hopefully, you will get better performance from this chipset. The processing cores reach a clock speed of 2.2 GHz, which may sound standard but offer adequate multitasking. You can play high-end games on low settings.

If you’re looking for an action experience, Funtouch 11.1 might not be the right choice, but at the same time, if you’re looking for heavy customization on Android 11, Funtouch 11.1 won’t let you down. However, few system bloatware applications are placed as an add-on in the interface.

The Vivo Y52 5G phone comes with 4GB RAM support that combines a 128GB storage unit. However, the company’s strategy is to put in a secondary shared Micro SD card so that users don’t use the Micro SD anyway, as dual SIM becomes necessary in a typical case. But, you won’t be let down by the storage department at all, although data transfer and read speed have been reduced to some extent.

Camera

Without a doubt, the Vivo smartphone usually relies on AI software to improve the camera’s quality, which is pretty decent. But sometimes the quality may not provide the natural result the user wants. Even if you are getting a triple camera setting, camera quality will fall into the mid-range category because nothing remarkable to notice.

Still, the native camera app featured several unique filters and options to capture your life moment in a very uncomplicated way. Low-light photography does justice to the overall capabilities of the camera and delivers impressive results thanks to AI rendering. In comparison, the portrait and contrast effects are slightly above the expected standard.

On paper, you’re getting the 48MP main camera that has impressive features and phase-detection autofocus capabilities. However, optical image stabilization is not supported. Still, the Vivo Y52 smartphone offers a 1080p video recording feature from both side cameras. The 2MP depth and 2MP macro rear camera combination features are also present. An 8MP V-notch selfie camera is present on the front which gives decent results in daylight.

Battery and Other

The battery segment is one of the main selling points of the Y52 smartphone, as it comes with a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. You can easily get more than 8 hours of screen time. In addition, the mid-range display and processor also helps to extend battery life in multiple folds. Also, the phone has an 18W fast charging support inside the box.

Luckily, sound output and communications are accurate according to modern usage, while 5G connectivity is also a big plus point at the same time. Speaking of the price range, the Y52 5G comes at a very simple cost of $280 (Rs 19,999) approx. The Vivo Y52 comes under the low-cost 5G smartphone.
