So, follow the detailed review of the Realme 9 Pro to understand whether this phone is a great deal or not according to your requirement.

Realme 9 Pro Review

Highlights

  1. The 6.6 inches IPS LCD panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate is merged into Realme 9 Pro.
  2. The 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor forms the hardware section with Adreno 619 GPU.
  3. Realme 9 Pro equips the latest Android 12 OS alongside Realme UI 3.0 UI.
  4. You will get a triple camera module with a 64MP as the primary camera and a 16MP selfie in terms of the camera setup.
  5. A massive Li-Po 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support is present.

Design and Display

The Realme 9 Pro smartphone sports a seamless and pleasant layout that may appeal the interested buyers to an extent. For the glass front, it has a punch-hole camera in the top left corner and not-so-slim bezels. Whereas, The glossy back furnishes a distinctive camera island. However, it catches fingerprints easily but is not slippery because of the plastic back and frame. The 195 grams device is neither too heavy nor lightweight.

Besides, you can purchase this phone in unique and attractive color variants. It includes Midnight Black, Aurora Green, Sunrise Blue. One feature that’s worth mentioning is the unique light shift design. The Blue & Green Realme 9 Pro changes colors when exposed to UV rays. With this, you can pick anyone that fits best according to your preference. If you ask us, we will pick the fancy Aurora Green.

Aside from the design and shade options, the 6.6 inches IPS LCD panel is with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display has likable contrast and fair levels of brightness to comfortably use outdoors too. Therefore, the display is good to go as long as you are okay with the LCD panel. Although, you won’t get the crisp colors like the AMOLED panel since it will increase the price tag.

Memory and Internal

The hardware section of the Realme 9 Pro brings a brand new 6nm Snapdragon 695 chipset, which is more than adequate with powerful cores & 5G connectivity. Thus, the phone is generous for day-to-day tasks and pretty good for gaming. Although the graphics unit fell a bit downsized compared to other processing features. The chipset can go up to a max of 2.2GHz clocking speed. However, you won’t witness heating issues.

On the other hand, it fits the latest Android 12 OS with all its features and a privacy dashboard for user data settings. While the software layering of Realme UI 3.0 delivers a colorful and snappy Interface with a bunch of customization options & multi-tasking features. You can perform different things and change the interface layout according to your need.

The Realme 9 Pro is available in two variants accompanied by robust storage & RAM options which are 6GB/8GB RAM with 128GB storage. The phone also offers a shared secondary storage unit. You can choose anyone according to daily usage requirements and budget.

Camera

For the camera, The Realme 9 Pro equips a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP main camera featuring LED flash, and the front has a 16MP lens. Day photos of the primary lens are decent for the price point, having a wide dynamic range, great sharpness, and adequate details. The 8MP ultra-wide is like other smartphones, with limited dynamic range & average sharpness. The 2MP macro shots are not impressive because of fewer details, contrast & pale colors.

Moreover, the Portraits are upright radiating punchy colors, with well-exposed subjects. Low-light photos are a bit soft & underexposed, but night mode results include better highlights and less noise. Selfies are unsatisfactory with fewer details & inaccurate colors. Clearly, the phone is not camera-centric. Instead of this, the phone is more focused on the performance aspect.

Apart from the camera specs, the phone can record a max of 1080p resolution videos on 30fps with both the camera modules. You won’t get any video stabilization support inside the native camera application. So, the footage is just average. Overall, the camera experience with the Realme 9 Pro is decent, but if you are looking for a better camera configuration, the Xiaomi 11 Hypercharge will give you that option.

Battery and Others

Realme 9 Pro’s battery life is sufficient to provide 7 hours of screen times with a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery, whereas the charging is fast with a 33W charger. Yet, 134 hours of endurance on battery life tests are certainly enough to overtake competitors. Overall the battery is reasonable to backup you throughout the day.

Last but not least, you will achieve decent level sensors and comms, including the side-mounted fingerprint scanner that will provide ease of usage during the user experience. Speakers emit a loud sound with average quality. Hence, nothing is extraordinary, neither is anything underwhelming for the price of $240 (Rs 17999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Realme 9 Pro smartphone is a good deal for those looking for a smartphone with 5G support and performance but costs seem to be a little high as per the specs. Also, the absence of IP rating, gorilla glass protection, and AMOLED maybe let you down, but the battery life, up-to-date OS software & speedy chipset are definitely the plus point.

If you are looking for an alternative option to the Realme 9 Pro, you can check out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11E Pro, but the final decision is up to you as per your need.
