Design and Display
The design of a smartphone is very subjective and the opinion changes from person to person but you can’t deny how similar the Micromax In Note 2 looks compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 and it’s a good thing. Every other smartphone manufacturer is making designs that are all similar to each other but the Micromax In Note 2 brings a premium level design at a budget segment. Sure, it doesn’t feel as premium as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra but it certainly looks that way.
Everything from the flat edges and flat back to the new camera module, all looks good and we are certainly impressed. All in all, the design looks very elegant. As for the front of the phone, you get a 6.43 inches AMOLED FHD+ display that can get as bright as 550 nits which is perfect for outdoor viewing. The display features a minimal bezel. But there is a slightly thicker bezel at the bottom but it’s better than other phones in the same price bucket.
There’s also a punch hole that houses the selfie camera. The display features a Full HD+ resolution and so the display looks crisp but it only has a 60Hz refresh rate, but hey, we can’t be too demanding at this price range. The colors of the display look accurate and it’s a very decent display panel considering the price point the phone is available in Black and Oak color options.
Memory and Internal
The Micromax In Note 2 smartphone comes with a 12nm Mediatek Helio G95 chipset that has enough power to drive most of your day-to-day tasks and medium gaming. After all, you won’t be buying this smartphone for heavy gaming or video editing anyway, it’s not a gaming smartphone. This is a phone for those who are looking for great value for money and definitely it is. Moreover, the chipset can go up to a max of 2.05GHz clocking speed.
This is more than enough for day-to-day usage, but you can’t expect top-tier gaming performance with this chip. Make no mistake, you can game on this phone, even games like PUBG, and CODm as long as you are okay with lowered graphical settings. The phone will provide you with more than a decent experience. Since it comes with the latest Android 11 OS with zero bloatware. The phone comes in just a single variant, that is the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Camera
Let’s talk about the camera now, the 48MP camera is quite decent and can compete with other smartphones in this price range. The sensor can take some decent pictures with a decent amount of details and color combinations. The 5MP ultra-wide, however, losses out to the main camera in terms of details, and the colors are fine.
But, at night, the scene changes a bit, the detail level decreases, and the noise increases, and this is even more pronounced with the ultra-wide camera. The other two cameras are just two 2MP depth and macro sensors, so let’s skip that.
It also has a 16MP punch-hole selfie camera, which is capable of taking some amazing selfies. The skin tone is perfect and it captures the face perfectly even under direct sunlight. As for video recording, both the main rear camera and the selfie camera can record up to 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Besides this, you get various effects and modules in the camera app.
Battery and Others
The Micromax In Note 2 has a Li-Po 5000mAh battery. The phone also comes with a 30W fast charger that should charge the battery from 0 – 100% in just about 90-100 minutes. Once fully charged, the phone can last for 1 to 2 days, which is a very good sign and some credit does go to the chipset of the smartphone as it’s quite efficient.
Apart from these, Micromax In Note 2 also comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5, and a USB-C port for better compatibility of a charger in case you lose the original charger. The price of the phone is set around $178 (Rs. 13,499 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Micromax In Note 2 smartphone has an all-rounded package that is hard to come by under 13K Indian Rupees and it’s an Indian company at that, while most of its competitors are Chinese phones with a ton of bloatware which seriously puts a question mark on the issue of privacy. But with this smartphone, you can not only secure your privacy but also get an incredible value for the money you will be paying. The AMOLED display makes watching movies and TV series a breeze, and to back that up, you get an incredibly performing chipset and a big battery.
In fact, the battery is so great that you can do anything you want with the smartphone before needing a charge again. So, all in all, a solid package is available at a solid deal. On the other hand, the phone does not support 5G and if you are looking for an alternative option then you can check out the Samsung Galaxy M23 which comes with 5G support in the same price range.
