Infinix Note 30 VIP

Infinix Note 30 VIP Smartphone Review – Infinix released the new Infinix Note 30 VIP on June 2023, but you can hardly call this a new smartphone. In terms of specs, the Infinix Note 30 VIP is a match with the Infinix GT 10 Pro, while borrowing the design, IP rating, and wireless charging technology from the Infinix Note 30 Pro. Infinix took the best parts of two smartphones, including 5G, and fused them into a single smartphone.

That’s why Infinix believes this is the smartphone that can provide the best experience possible on a budget. The smartphone is available in various regions globally with more regions followed shortly. The design of the new Infinix Note 30 VIP follows the design language of Infinix’s other smartphones and looks elegant. Let’s review the Infinix Note 30 VIP and see if you should consider buying this smartphone.

Infinix Note 30 VIP Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The Infinix Note 30 VIP features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1 Billion colors, and 900 nits of peak brightness.
  2. Infinix Note 30 VIP is powered by the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset with a clock speed of 1×3.0GHz.
  3. The smartphone runs on Android 13 with an XOS 13 user interface for better customization support.
  4. The Infinix Note 30 VIP features a 108MP triple-camera system in the back and a 32MP selfie camera in the front.
  5. The smartphone features a 5000 mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Design and Display

The design of the Infinix Note 30 VIP is quite similar to the Infinix Note 30 Pro. It has the same glass rear panel, but with different shades of colors, which gives the smartphone its iconic gradient finish. Speaking of colors, the Infinix Note 30 VIP is available for purchase in Magic Black, Glacier White, and a special Racing Edition.

The Racing Edition was created in partnership with BMW’s Design Works team and with it brings a bold design that is meant to emphasize the gamer in you. The sides are flat, which enhances the grip when holding the smartphone. The Infinix Note 30 VIP is protected by IP53 dust and water splash resistance. On the front, you get a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1 Billion colors support.

The display features accurate color reproduction and the text on it looks sharp. This sharpness also continues outdoors as the display can get as bright as 900 nits, making it easy for your eyes to read the content outside. The support for 1 billion colors on the display will ensure that there are no color banding issues that plague other smartphone displays in the same price range.

Memory and Internal

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has been outfitted with the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset. This is a powerful chipset considering the price point it has launched at. The clocked speed of this chipset is 1×3.0 GHz, making it capable of running all your daily apps smoothly in real-life usage. So you can multi-task between all your favorite apps, such as Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat, and a lot more.

Also, since the chipset is manufactured at 6nm technology, it doesn’t heat up that much and remains relatively cool under normal circumstances. You can even keep multiple tabs running in the browser in the background for a long period and they will still keep running, thanks to the optimizations put in place by the team of Infinix. Speaking of memory, the Infinix Note 30 VIP comes with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1  storage. For gaming, you will find the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU more than enough.

This GPU is powerful enough to run modern games like Genshin Impact, CODm, and PUBG mobile with higher settings and smooth framerate. The Infinix Note 30 VIP also comes equipped with Android 13 with an XOS 13 user interface. This custom user interface has every customization option you can think of. The smartphone is also 5G ready and capable of providing gigabit download speeds.

Camera

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has a 108MP triple rear camera system with a 108MP sensor for the main camera and two 2MP sensors. The main camera featuring the 108MP sensor is optimized to capture twice as much light compared to other smartphones in the same price range. So, it can capture images and videos with amazing details and a high dynamic range for accurate colors.

However, the other two sensors are completely a gimmick and cannot be used for anything useless. On the front, you will find a selfie camera in the smartphone, which has a 32MP sensor. It can capture some great selfies with even skin tones and color temperature. When it comes to video recording, the Infinix Note 30 VIP can shoot up to 4K@30FPS from the main rear camera, while the selfie camera is maxed out at 1080p@30FPS.

Battery and Others

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has a 5000 mAh battery capacity that should easily last about 1 – 2 days with lighter usage. But, when you play games for a long period, then it will be very taxing on the processor and will drain the battery. In that case, the smartphone may not last a full day. However, Infinix has equipped the smartphone with both wired and wireless charging to keep your battery phobia at bay. You can quickly recharge the battery back to its full glory with either the 68W fast wired charging or the 50W wireless charging.

Which one you should choose is your choice but Infinix will provide the wired charger inside the smartphone box, which is something not a lot of companies are willing these days. For wireless charging, you will have to purchase a compatible wireless charging pad separately, preferrable one that can provide 50W of power to take full potential of the smartphone’s wireless charging capability. Apart from that, the smartphone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, stereo speakers, and GPS. The price of the smartphone starts at $290 (Rs 24,000 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Infinix Note 30 VIP provides a premium experience at a price tag that none of its competitors can compete with. It provides a fantastic experience in almost every area, whether that’s the color-rich display, the speedy chipset, or the incredible battery and charging performance. Everything is right as Infinix promised, including the use of high-end components to provide super-fast wireless charging. Many companies even struggle to provide such super fast charging capabilities at wired charging.

But don’t get too by the smartphone as the camera performance is not quite up to the mark. The main camera is quite good, but the other two cameras are quite useless, which is not the case with other smartphones in the same price range. So, if you are satisfied with the design, display, performance, and battery, then go for the smartphone eyes closed. You are not getting a better smartphone at this price range.

But if want an ultra-wide camera or a telephoto camera and are willing to pay a bit more, then there are other smartphone options that you can take a look at. The Oppo Reno 10 is one such example, which has both ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, at a higher price tag. But then again that’s the cost of buying a camera-centric smartphone. Apart from this lack of multiple camera sensors, the Infinix Note 30 VIP is a solid smartphone. Which smartphone you should get will depend on your needs and requirements.
