Infinix Note 30 Pro Smartphone Review

  2. The smartphone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity G99 chipset capable of reaching up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed.
  3. The phone comes loaded with the latest Android 13OS and XOS 13 user interface.
  4. The main rear camera sensor is a 108MP sensor, and the selfie camera is a 32MP sensor.
  5. The smartphone has a Li-Po 5000 mAh long-lasting battery with 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging support.

Design and Display

The Infinix Note 30 Pro is a flashy smartphone, especially in the Variable Gold color. It’s an eye-catching color that will surely turn some heads around you. The Variable Gold color changes color between a Blue and Gold tint depending on the angle light hits the phone. It’s a gorgeous color and looks really cool, but it’s not for everyone. For those who prefer a subtle design, you will be glad to know that Infinix has also provided a matte black color called Magic Black. The smartphone also has IP53 dust and splash resistance.

When it comes to the body, it features a flat design with flat sides and a flat back, which is good for grip. The back is made out of glass, but the frame is made out of plastic. However, the frame is quite sturdy and features a glossy finish, which makes it look metallic build. For the display, you get a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The panel has a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth user experience and gets plenty bright with 900 nits peak brightness under direct sunlight. Apart from this, the device weighs around 203 grams and has an 8.2mm thick body.

Memory and Internal

The Infinix Note 30 Pro comes with the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity G99 SoC, which is capable of reaching up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed and has enough power to run everyday apps without any hiccups. Also, being built on a 6nm manufacturing process makes this processor very power efficient. So, the power consumption of this processor should be lower. In other words, the battery will last longer.

The GPU in the G99 chipset is the Mali-G57 MC2, which has enough power to run PUBG mobile, CODm, and even Genshin at a smooth playable framerate. However, this is a 4G-only chipset, so the smartphone is not 5G-ready. For RAM and storage, the phone is available in one variant, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Besides this, the device is perfect for those who capture a lot of video footage you are getting a dedicated SD card slot. As for the software side of things, the smartphone is running on the latest Android 13OS with XOS 13 user interface. You may face some bloatware apps with this UI while heavy games can’t be expected to run at max graphic settings. Still, this device delivers decent performance for daily use.

Camera

The Infinix Note 30 Pro sports a triple rear camera system with a 108MP sensor as the main camera. The main rear camera can capture some really detailed pictures with good dynamic range and true-to-life colors. The level of the details was not diminished at night, thanks to the night mode that brightens up the lowly-lit environment. Even, in the night shots, there are some incredible details in the shots and the colors look perfectly natural.

But there’s a tiny shutter lag when taking pictures with night mode, so you will need to hold the camera steady when taking pictures with night mode. Aside from this, there is also a 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens which certainly boosts the detail level, but the size of the pictures will be quite enormous.

The selfie camera features a 32MP sensor that is quite decent and managed to click some amazing selfies with good colors and a decent level of detail. As for video recording, the phone can only shoot a maximum of 1440p videos at 30FPS from the rear camera and 1080p videos at 30FPS from the selfie camera. The absence of an ultrawide lens surely disappoints a bit while gyro-EIS stabilization is also missing on the smartphone. All in all, the camera section feels a bit compromised due to the so-called additional lenses.

Battery and Others

The smartphone has a Li-Po 5000mAh battery, which is a high-capacity battery and provides an excellent battery backup. The smartphone can easily last for 2 days with moderate usage. But, the same cannot be said during a heavy gaming session as the smartphone may not last a full day. But, if the does run out of juice, you can quickly recharge it back as the smartphone has support for 68W wired fast charging.

The 68W wired charger can charge the battery up to 80% in just 30 minutes. There is also support for fast 15W fast wireless charging for those who prefer to charge their phone wirelessly. There’s also support for reverse wireless charging, so you can charge your wireless earbuds if they support wireless charging. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual speakers. The Infinix Note 30 Pro smartphone is available at $241 (Rs 19,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Infinix Note 30 Pro is a decent smartphone entry into 2023. This is among the most balanced smartphones of all time with all the right set of specs that are possible in this price bracket. But specs don’t make a smartphone, the user experience is what really matters and the Infinix Note 30 Pro certainly excels in this department, whether that’s the gorgeous design, colorful display, speedy chipset, or the huge battery backup.

Both the rear and selfie cameras are equally great and can take some of the most amazing shots with a ton of details and great dynamic range. Still, you are going to miss an ultrawide lens and a telephoto lens. The device also doesn’t have support for 4K video recordings and gyro-EIS support. Anyways, it’s a well-designed smartphone that has the potential to disrupt the budget smartphone category. To make things even better, the smartphone is available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and comes with fast wired and fast wireless charging which is the most interesting part of this device. Still, there are some corners cut on the device such as 5G connectivity, the latest sensors, and additional glass protection.

If you are not a fan of the Infinix brand or looking for an alternative, then you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+, which is around the same price bracket but features better specs and possibly better user experience.
