vivo T1

Vivo Y75 Review – Vivo launched a new 5G smartphone under the Y series in January 2022. Vivo made its name in the smartphone industry with its frequent launches & average pricing range. Again, Vivo Y75 can also prove to be a worthy option and you are getting tons of exciting features, while at the same time, you will obtain a robust design layout.

A well-designed body looks similar to the Vivo T1 5G, huge battery & decent processing power is here in the Vivo Y75 smartphone. The company also provides 5G support and decent display quality. But that’s not all, as there are many more details to know about before making a purchase decision. So let’s start the detailed review to understand if the Vivo Y75 smartphone fits your need.

Vivo Y75 Review

Highlights

  1. Vivo Y75 arrives with a 6.58 inches IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution.
  2. It furnishes a standard 7nm MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 5G chipset that grants a max 2x 2.2GHz cloaking speed.
  3. While for the software, it fetches Android 11 OS software layering with FunTouch 12 user interface.
  4. The phone channels a triple rear camera having a 50MP primary lens and a 16MP selfie camera.
  5. With ample Li-Po 5000mAh battery power, you receive an 18W fast charger.

Design and Display

As soon as you unbox, you notice a similar appearance to all the Vivo smartphones, a glass front with the water-drop notch. The bezel’s size & chin are larger. Thus, it makes Vivo Y75 look like phones with considerably lower prices. Despite this, the boxy design with flat edges & 187 grams weight easily provided a lightweight feel. With protection cover, you might not even feel the difference.

The camera module at the rear is prone to scratches. While the plastic back has a sparkly effect with a special coating that resists fingerprint marks.

Beside this, the glowing Galaxy and Starlight Black are the two colors offered. While Black is basic and a good choice if you prefer professional looks, on the other hand, the Glowing Galaxy shade option is also about the sheer class.

It 6.58 inches IPS LCD panel is also unjustified though there won’t be any complaints regarding the display as the colors are vibrant, still, the quality is dull compared to AMOLED screen devices. On the other hand, the phone didn’t render fluid refresh rate settings nor does it have better brightness nits support. But the worst thing is that the Vivo Y75 didn’t even have corning glass protection.

Memory and Internal

As highlighted earlier, Vivo Y75 is packed with a 7nm MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 octa-core processor that has a clock speed of just up to 2.2Ghz. The apps respond quickly & multi-tasking is effortless, also there are no issues while transitioning. Despite the smooth functioning, the chipset is not impressive. The company could have done better in this segment.

On the contrary, Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 11 OS backs the software layering. Simple UI with no lags assures smooth performance. Although many bloatware apps are present but thankfully can be uninstalled. The gaming experience is not wow but manageable with no frame drops & no heating issues between gameplay. Though, there’s no proper cooling system present on the phone.

Vivo Y75 is proposed in a single variant of 8GB RAM & 128 GB internal storage, feeding you enough room to preserve files, data & download content. Heavy users can use the expandable RAM in need or use an SD card for extended storage. But you won’t be able to utilize the dual SIM feature if you want to increase storage limits.

Camera

Vivo Y75 flaunts a triple rear camera setup with a 50 MegaPixel primary camera. Under outdoor daylight, the images have good detailing & contrast with no saturation issues. Sharpness level is okay but not class-leading. Sadly there is no ultra-wide lens which is a big deal-breaker as you are only getting a combo of 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens.

Also, the night-mode photos are underwhelming for this price segment. The front camera owns a 16MP that brings satisfactory selfies. Yet, the pictures look slightly whitish & filtered even without the beauty mode. The colors also appear artificial at times. Other camera features include Dual-LED flash, HDR, panorama, etc.

Like low-budget Phones, Vivo Y74s can only record videos up to 1080p resolution. No support for 4k is a costly miss. Therefore, the camera is unusable with moving videos. All-round video quality is decent since it supports the stabilization software department.

Battery and Others

The Li-Po 5000 mAh battery possessed by Vivo Y75 provides 6 hours of screen time accompanied by 18W fast charging support. Though the Vivo device can pull you through a day of usage & lets you play games for hours, the charger could have been better & stronger at this price point. Yes, Vivo Y33 is priced at $290 (Rs 21,990 in India) approx, while some of its specifications are really not worthy.

Talking about the sound, the single speaker delivers average results. It is integrated with comms & features such as accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, etc. Other sensors like face unlock and the side-mounted fingerprint sensors are quick & accurate. But in terms of the 5G connectivity, the phone feels slightly below the competition. But still, the overall additional features set are quite good enough for the proper daily usage experience.

Conclusion

If we talk about the entire value & performance of the Vivo Y75 smartphone, most of its features & traits can be seen in phones under Rs. 15k range. Looking at the display, camera & performance, the Vivo Y75 seems overpriced, whereas 5G connectivity is surely a plus point for the users. But still, you won’t receive the apt amount of 5G-bands on this phone.

The Vivo Y75 smartphone is good for day-to-day use, but if you are searching for a gaming phone or camera-centric phone, it is not a suitable choice for you. Hence, in case, you require an alternative suggestion, you may consider the Vivo iQOO Z3. Hopefully, the review might help you with the decision-making.
