Vivo Y20T Review, Pros and Cons – There’s always been a complex story of Vivo, the way they treat their offline users in India compared to online market users, as most offline market users didn’t care about the specs other than the brand name. The same applies to the Vivo Y20T handset, launched in India in October, and not so long ago, it is the brother Vivo Y20 2021 that offers similar features. But the difference here is that the old Y20 runs on Android 10.
The Vivo Y20T is equipped with the Android 11 skin. Besides, there is no information about how it will be released in other markets. But, you will discover stolen Vivo Y20s, Vivo Y20G, Vivo Y20i, and a few more for different markets. However, the overall experience with each device would be the same. So, let’s find out if the Vivo Y20T is worth buying or not.

Vivo Y20T Review
Highlights
- The device features a decent-sized 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that renders ample color saturation and pixel density.
- The 13MP triple camera’s color exposure is great, and you’ll also get an 8MP selfie.
- When it comes to processing power, manufacturers offer a Snapdragon 662 chipset under the hood.
- In terms of software, ColorOS 11.1 interface based on android 11 operating system is present.
- Under the hood, the 5000 mAh is powered by a fast charging speed of 18W.
Design and Display
The design aspect of the Vivo Y20T is similar to the Vivo Y30G. And as most of the Y20 series phone offers the exact camera cutout with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The front display offers a pretty standard waterdrop notch display that might give the phone a bit less aesthetic than the competition as the dot notch display is trendy.
But, it doesn’t mean that the phone didn’t offer decent shade options; you can still check out some shade options, such as Obsidian Black and Purist Blue. Both look premium, and the glossy pattern design layout gives the upper hand in the texture format. Even though the phone offers a plastic yet glossy built, but edges are curved, and while holding experience feels not that heavy.
Apart from this, the front 6.5-inches IPS LCD panel comes with slim bezels designs that provide a decent amount of pixel density. But, the phone only goes up to HD+ resolution, which can be considered a drawback for the users as the same price bracket phones offer FHD+ resolution display. Following that, you won’t get an advance refresh rate, nor does the phone offers corning glass protection on the screen.
Memory and Internal
The hardware section is not worth mentioning as you won’t get anything special from the processor or chipset. Under the hood, you still obtain the Snapdragon 662 chipset that allows users to run the android 11 based Funtouch 11.1 interface. Although, the Android ecosystem will be loaded with bloatware, and you can’t do anything about that, apart from disabling them. As for the processing, the phone reaches up to 2.0GHz cloaking speed.
A similar octa-core speed appears in the Vivo Y20G that equips the Helio G85 chipset, a good option for a mid-range phone. But, for the Vivo Y20T, the gaming experience would be moderate, not so exceptional, and not so dull as you will be able to play games. Besides this, the user’s experience would not be that great due to the entry of bloatware and adware in the interface.
Hopefully, the customization features are at the next level, thanks to Android 11. Following that, the processing handle through the 6GB RAM support is also accompanied by the 64GB internal storage. For usual usage, the storage capacity is sufficient for storing your life moments, files, videos, and other media without any hassle. Moreover, the company also offers a dedicated secondary storage unit, MicroSD, in the SIM tray.
Camera
The camera quality experience of the Vivo Y20T feels mediocre due to the camera lens support; though, the image processing software improved and overall good. But, you will still notice grains and oversaturation in the images, while the lowlight slightly lacks the colors exposures. Hopefully, the native camera offers different options, modes, and functions to add value.
With those features, you can click amazing photos and videos. Besides this, there’s also an AI beauty feature that enhances the skin tone’s colors and whitewashes. Although, you won’t get timelapse and slow-mo options to record different modes of videos. As far as the daylight photography from the primary 13MP lens is concerned, you will attain average details in the photos.
Although, the 2MP depth lens edge detection on the portrait mode didn’t look appealing during the usage. As for the 2MP lens macro photos, the colors and saturation feel okay since they correctly do their job. Alongside this, the 8MP selfie lens quality didn’t stay constant in all the modes, so it can be considered a problem. The phone does provide 1080p videos without stabilization software in terms of video recording.
Battery and Others
The battery life on the Vivo Y20T is one of the key factors that makes this phone tempting is that you are getting a 5000 mAh battery, and from this, you can squish out more than 6+ hours of screen time. With that, you won’t face any problem binge-watching your favorite show and suffering the internet, while the makers also insert an 18W charger inside the box. This charge will take more than an hour and a half to fuel the battery.
As for the additional features, the phone offers decent sensors and comms support that will give an impressive user experience. However, you won’t obtain the 5G connectivity, or the NFC features here. In contrast, the audio output is better but, it can’t be considered the best. The Vivo Y20T is expected to arrive at a $196 (Rs 15000 in India) price point, which is quite an exaggerating cost for the overall features and specs.

Conclusion
Vivo Y20T phone is a big mess in terms of the specs, and the value proposition didn’t sync with the specs. If you search a bit more, you will find more options. But still, there are a few good things about this phone: a decent size screen, better battery endurance, android 11, proper camera setup, and more.
However, the overall value might not be appealing because several alternative options will bring you more exciting features and specs at the same price range. We recommend you take the alternative options present in the market like the Vivo T1x smartphone. These phones have everything you want at a low cost and offer value-packed specs.
