Vivo V23 Pro

Vivo V23 Review – The Vivo V23 was launched in India on January 5, 2022. It was the first phone in India to launch with a color-changing back. The phone features a fluorite AG glass which causes the color of the glass to change into a different shade when hit by the sun’s UV rays and that’s the secret of the phone’s elegant look. The phone comes with a Mediatek Dimensity SoC, which can get close to the flagship-level performance.

The Vivo V23 looks like the Vivo V23 Pro with minor spec changes, but it costs less than the non-pro model. This phone is somewhat decent, but it’s something that you need to know about in detail. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Vivo V23 smartphone.

Vivo V23 Review

  3. The Vivo V23 runs on Android 12 with FunTouchOS 12 UI on top of it.
  4. The main rear camera sensor is 64MP, while the main selfie camera is a 50MP sensor.
  5. The battery inside the smartphone is a Li-Po 4200mAh battery with 44W of fast charging.

Design and Display

While for most phones, it’s the front of the display where all the magic happens, in this case, it’s the back of the phone. It is made up of fluorite AG glass which causes the color of the glass to change into a different shade when it gets hit by the sun’s UV rays. The back color-changing glass paired with a flat metal frame around the side edges of the phone just makes it absolutely gorgeous.

On the one hand, the golden color is exquisite, and on the other hand, when you go out and the sun rays fall onto the phone, it’s a whole new color. This is absolutely game-changing and looks so cool. Apart from the sunshine gold color-changing color, the phones come in 1 more color variant, and that’s plain stardust black.

The frosted matte black finish is always classy. The display featured in the phone is 6.44 inches of AMOLED Full HD+ resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is also certified with HDR10+ certification and is protected by the Schott Xensation Up glass protection, which is said to be similar to the Gorilla Glass level of protection.

Memory and Internal

You will find the Mediatek Dimensity 920 SoC inside the phone, which is manufactured on a 6nm architecture. In Dimensity 920 5G SoC, the big cores are the two powerful Cortex A78 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz, while the little cores are the 6 power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2 GHz.

For gaming, you get the ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. So, you will get 35% improved graphics performance with a reduction in power consumption by 30% compared to the previous generation Dimensity chipsets. Yes and expect smooth and stutter-free performance when you play games like BGMI and COD mobile. The base variant has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, but if you need extra RAM and storage, you can also get the 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage with the top model.

Beside this, the device is powered by the latest Android 12 OS with Vivo’s newest FunTouchOS 12 UI on top of it. You can expect software and security patch updates on this phone from Vivo. You also dual 5G support on the Vivo v23.

Camera

The main rear camera is a 64MP sensor that can take decent images with natural colors, but details can be missing in some shots. It’s not in every shot but mostly in indoor shots. Maybe a future update can improve that even further. The shots coming out of the 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera can come out a bit soft, and the colors are just as accurate as those of the main sensor.

What truly surprised us was the nighttime shots, the images have a good amount of details, and if you turn the night mode on, the noises disappear entirely. The real magic is in the selfie cameras. The 50MP wide main selfie camera manages to capture a lot of details, and the skin tone is just perfect.

The second lens is an 8MP ultra-wide camera for group selfies and videos with a wider field of view. Speaking of videos, the phone can shoot up to a max of 4K video recording at 30FPS from both the 64MP main rear camera and the 50MP wide selfie camera. Also, the rear camera is paired with the gyro-based EIS for stable and shake-free videos.

Battery and Others

The Vivo V23 smartphone has a Li-Po 4200mAh battery and to charge the phone you also get a 44W fast charging. According to the company, the 44W Type-C fast charging can charge your phone from 1-68% in just 30 minutes. Apart from that, the phone comes equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The price starts at $390 (Rs. 29,990 in India) approx for the base variant, while the top 12GB and 256GB variants will cost more.

But a phone is more than just its design, and you will be happy to know that the phone’s performance is just amazing.
