Samsung Galaxy M15 Smartphone Review – The Samsung Galaxy M15 was launched in March 2024. The smartphone will also launch globally and will be available in a majority of countries. It will begin shipping to customers by the end of March. This new smartphone is designed for budget users but comes with features majorly found in mid-range smartphones, including 5G.

Samsung went a step forward and designed the Galaxy M15 with the same design language that is found in its Galaxy S24 flagship series. Samsung seriously wants to impress its budget users with this design and 5G connectivity along with a whole host of other features. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy M15 and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Samsung Galaxy M15 Smartphone Review

  3. The smartphone arrives with Android 14 out-of-the-box with OneUI 6 for more customization options.
  4. The Samsung Galaxy M15 has a 50MP rear camera system, while the selfie camera has a 13MP sensor.
  5. The phone has a 6000mAh battery and supports 25W wired fast charging.

Design and Display

The design of the Samsung Galaxy M15 matches that of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. It has a similar flat side frame and the same camera layout. Sure, the new smartphone is not as premium as the flagship phone but it is still a solid build. The entire body is made out of plastic but it is durable and won’t slip out of your hands.

Closely resembles that of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23 series and that’s not really surprising. Samsung wants all of their smartphones to feature a similar design language to that of the Galaxy S23 series to ensure everybody gets a similar regardless of which smartphone they bought and at what price tag. So with the Samsung Galaxy M15, you get a flat design that is quite grippy and won’t slip out of your hands easily.

The Samsung Galaxy M15 is available for purchase in Light Blue, Dark Blue,  and Gray color options. All the buttons are located on the right side for easier accessibility. While the SIM slot is on the left side. The speakers, microphone, and USB port are on the bottom. On the front, you get a 6.5-inches Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution.

You get a color-correct display panel that has a 90Hz high refresh rate, which helps deliver a smooth user experience. The display panel also gets plenty bright at 800 nits under sunlight, so you are not going to have any issues outdoors.

Memory and Internal

The Samsung Galaxy M15 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G chipset. This chipset has an octa-core CPU configuration that can reach clock speeds of up to 2×2.2 GHz. So, it has enough horsepower to deliver a smooth experience and superior multitasking performance. It is quite a capable chipset and the same can be said for the gaming side of things as well.

In fact, the Mali-G57 MC2 can easily handle games like PUBGm, CODm, and Summoners War with ease while delivering smooth framerates. The smartphone also has support for 5G connectivity for better gaming experience. For memory and storage, the Samsung Galaxy M15 is available for purchase with up to 4GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.

There’s also support for a microSDXC card and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone runs on Android 14 with OneUI 6, which provides a lot of customization support. Samsung also provides 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates, which will enhance the software experience in the long run.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy M15 has a 50MP triple-camera setup. The photos from the primary 50MP sensor have great details with accurate color tones and a high dynamic range. Even the small details in the shadows and the highlights are preserved. So, you can zoom in a little and you can still see the fine details without much blurriness.

The sensor and the algorithm are also optimized to capture more light than ever before, so night photos have more details compared to night pictures from other smartphones. Then there’s the 5MP ultrawide camera that is just average at best. The photos do have a wider field of view but it appears softer and there aren’t many details in the ultrawide photos.

On the front, there’s the selfie camera. It consists of a 13MP sensor, which can take some great selfies with perfect skin tones and natural color saturation. When it comes to video recording, both the rear and the selfie camera shoot videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p@30FPS.

Battery and Others

The Samsung Galaxy M15 has a huge 6000mAh battery that can easily last about 2 days with light to moderate usage. But even if you are a heavy user or take a lot of pictures or videos, then the battery should still last a full day. But if you play a lot of games, then the battery will last less and may end up needing a recharge before the day ends.

So, you can put all your battery anxiety away with this smartphone. You will be glad to know that the Samsung Galaxy M15 supports 25W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the smartphone in about 2 hours. Apart from that, the smartphone has support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector for charging. The Galaxy M15 smartphone is available with a price tag of $220 (Rs 18,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy M15 smartphone brings the focus back to the lower-midrange sector once again. This sector has been neglected for so long and most smartphones available here, don’t appeal to modern users. The phone lacks in performance, it is way off the mark and its cameras seriously lack the capability. Many smartphones in this price range still don’t have 5G connectivity and that too in 2024.

The Samsung Galaxy M15 addresses all these issues with flying colors. The camera performance is exceptional considering the price tag. On top of that, the Samsung Galaxy M15’s battery capabilities are through the roof. You won’t find another smartphone with this battery level at the same price tag while bringing so many things to the table.

It also comes with the latest Android out of the box with the commitment of getting 4-5 years of software updates. It will keep your smartphone updated with newer features while keeping it secured against vulnerabilities in the future. For all that it offers, we believe the pricing is on point and makes this smartphone a deal that you can’t refuse.

The best alternative smartphone would be the Vivo iQOO Z9 smartphone. It features similar specs and camera hardware but its performance is much faster while costing a bit less. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
