Realme Narzo 60x Smartphone Review – The Narzo series of smartphones from Realme are meant to be the budget alternative to Realme’s other smartphones and the Realme Narzo 60x is no different. As of now, the RealmeNarzo 60x is only available in India and Realme has yet to announce any plans regarding a global launch of this smartphone.

Even at a tight budget, Realme has managed to include 5G connectivity in the new smartphone, which will lead to gigabit speeds and significantly lower latencies. The Realme Narzo 60x also features an elegant new design that is a departure from Realme’s usual design languages. Today, we will review the Realme Narzo 60x smartphone and see everything that it has to offer.

Design and Display

The design of the Realme Narzo 60x is an area where we have seen some of the most significant design changes. The Realme Narzo 60x now follows the circular camera cutout design language that Realme started this year and it honestly looks quite great. The body of the smartphone is made of plastic but the color choices completely change the aesthetics of the smartphone, whether that’s the Stellar Green or Nebula Purple color.

The smartphone is rigid with no signs of any cracking or bending under pressure, which goes to show just how well-built the smartphone is. On the front of the smartphone, you get the 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate for a smoother user experience. It’s an IPS panel and features accurate colors and viewing angles. The display can also get 680 nits of HBM brightness, which should be enough to use your smartphone outdoors. All in all, the display section is decent, while the smartphone is slim with 7.9mm thickness and weighs around 190 grams.

Memory and Internal

The Realme Narzo 60x uses the newly announced 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC. This chipset can reach up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed, which gives it plenty of power to do everything you usually do on a smartphone. So, you can switch between multiple apps, and still, the experience will be a lot smoother compared to other smartphones in the same price range.

You can even have multiple tabs inside a browser and still, the chipset won’t break a sweat. The chipset also has support for 5G connectivity for gigabit speeds and lower latencies, which will be particularly helpful during online multiplayer gaming. Speaking of gaming, the GPU powering the smartphone is the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which can easily run some games like PUBG and CODmat medium graphic settings.

For memory and storage, the Realme Narzo 60x is available with 4GB to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As for software layering, the device runs on the latest Android 13 OS with Realme UI 4.0 customization support. Getting the latest Android version with a lot of customization options is a good gesture from the maker’s end.

Camera

The Realme Narzo 60x has a 50MP dual rear camera system. The primary camera has a 50MP sensor that is capable of taking some decent photos that tend to have great detail levels, accurate colors, and a higher-than-usual dynamic range. Realme smartphones usually have a great camera quality and that hasn’t changed with the Realme Narzo 60x.

The second lens is a 2MP depth sensor that is not worth talking about. Even an ultra-wide camera would have been better but sadly, that’s not the case. On the front, there’s a selfie camera with an 8MP sensor and it is capable of taking some great selfies with good skin tone and ambient color accuracy but the detail level is not as good as the rear camera. Anyways, you can’t have high expectations from the camera of a budget segment smartphone. When it comes to video recording, the Realme Narzo 60x can shoot up to 1080Pvideos@30FPS from the main rear camera as well as the selfie camera.

Battery and Others

Realme has included a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery for the Realme Narzo 60x. This is a high-capacity battery, which combined with the new chipset’s power efficiency allows for some great battery life. So, this battery can easily last 1 – 2 days of normal day-to-day usage. But if you are a heavy user or play a lot of games, then the smartphone may not last a full day. The exact battery backup you get will depend on your usage and the kind of apps you like to use.

When it comes to charging, the Realme Narzo 60x supports 33W of wired fast charging, which can charge the smartphone to 50% under 30 minutes. Apart from that, the Realme Narzo 60x also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type C port for charging. The price of the smartphone starts at $155 (Rs 12,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Realme Narzo 60x has a lot going for it, including a good display, a new chipset, a decent camera, a massive battery, and a whole lot more. These are the main attractions of Realme Narzo 60x. But specs alone don’t make a smartphone and you will be glad to know that the user experience of the smartphone is quite satisfying. Also, you receive the 5G connectivity on the smartphone at an affordable price. Speaking of downsides, the nits brightness could have been better but still, it is manageable. The camera should have included an ultrawide lens which is a major downside of the device.

So, if you have been looking for a smartphone that provides a balanced and satisfying user experience, then the Realme Narzo 60x can be that without asking for a price tag that breaks your wallet. However, there is an alternative option that can be exciting for some users and it is none other than the Samsung Galaxy F14 smartphone which has been making wakes in the industry. The alternative arrives at a similar price point and offers a bit of a better set of specs. So choose one that better suits your needs, however, the final decision is up to you.
