Design and Display
The design of the smartphone is one area where the phone excels way out of its league. This smartphone features a premium design with curved edges that give the smartphone flagship looks. The back panel features a gorgeous matte finish that looks fascinating in the Blue color. While it says Blue, it looks more like Greenish Blue to the naked eye. The top of the back panel is populated by the camera module that houses the quad camera setup.
On the front of the phone, you get a gorgeous 6.78 inches AMOLED display that is curved on both sides, giving the smartphone a unique look. The panel also features a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth user experience along with HDR10+, 1 billion colors, and 950 nits of HBM brightness. The display feels excellent and is accurately calibrated, so a professional and creative workload can be done on this smartphone. Besides this, the device weighs around 210 grams and has an 8.8mm thick body.
Memory and Internal
The smartphone features the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G chipset that can reach up to a 2×2.6GHz clocking speed. This is a new chipset that was just released on May 2023. This makes this smartphone very appealing as most other smartphone in the price range features chipsets that were released over a year ago or two. Being clocked at 2.6GHz, this chipset is quite powerful and can easily breeze through almost all apps and games that you like using on your smartphone.
The Mali-G68 MC4 GPU in the chipset is powerful enough to easily run PUBG mobile, CODm, and Genshin Impact at smooth framerates. The smartphone is also 5G-ready and can provide over giga-bit speeds, provided that your carrier has enabled such high-speed downloads. For RAM and storage, the smartphone is available in only one variant, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. When it comes to the software, the smartphone is running on the latest Android 13 OS with a stock-is user interface.
Camera
The Lava Agni 2 sports a quad-camera system at the back. The main rear camera is the 50MP sensor and this sensor is optimized to capture some really detailed pictures with good dynamic range, true-to-life colors, and incredibly low noise levels. The pictures look sharp and have plenty of details for people who like to zoom into pictures. The main camera rocks and doesn’t drop a beat, even at night, thanks to the night mode that brightens up the lowly-lit parts of the environment.
The night mode algorithms allow the sensor to capture more light than ever and that helps capture some incredible details in the pictures. However, there can be a tiny shutter lag when taking pictures with night mode, but that’s worth it considering the quality you get. The selfie camera features a 16MP sensor that can click some great selfies with a decent level of detail. As for video recording, the phone can only shoot at a maximum of 4K videos@30FPS from the rear camera and 1080p@30FPS from the selfie camera.
Apart from this, you will receive an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth lens. The camera section may not be the best under this price segment, but still, you get a balanced camera performance on this device. As for videos, the absence of gyro-EIS support disappoints a bit but 4K recording compensate for that too. We can say that the overall experience with the Lava Agni 2 would be not bad.
Battery and Others
The Lava Agni 2 smartphone has a Li-Po 4700 mAh battery, which is very large for a smartphone of this caliber. The device managed to provide an excellent battery backup and can easily last for 2 days with moderate usage. However, if you are a gamer and often play games, then the smartphone may not last a full day. However, there’s nothing to worry about that as the smartphone can easily recharge back to 100% quickly, thanks to the 66W wired fast charging.
This super-fast charger can charge the battery up to 50% in just 16 minutes, which is just incredible. Now there are other smartphones in the market with even faster-charging capacity, but 66W charging is generally not seen in this budget. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, and OTG support. The smartphone can be picked in a single color at the price of $265 (Rs 21,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Lava Agni 2 smartphone is a surprising and attractive phone of 2023. Seeing the industry going through inflation, people didn’t have that much expectation, but the company definitely surprised everyone. The inclusion of a curved screen and that too with an AMOLED panel and in-display fingerprint is something that’s unheard of in the price bracket. The smartphone excels in every department, whether that’s the elegant design, gorgeous curved display, newest chipset, or well-balanced cameras.
There’s very little that this smartphone cannot do. However, not every user is a fan of this brand. The brand has been around for a while, they don’t have a proven track record, but that’s changing now, thanks to the release of Lava Agni 2. If you still want an alternative, then the Realme 10 Pro is this smartphone’s closest competitor. That’s because this smartphone also features a curved AMOLED display and is available at a very similar price point.
