Huawei Enjoy 60X

Huawei Enjoy 60X Smartphone Review – Huawei Enjoy 60X was launched in April 2023, as a new mid-range smartphone with a premium design that makes the smartphone appear near the flagship level. This is especially true for the faux leather variants of the smartphone that just turn the design of the smartphone to the next level. The Enjoy 60X is an updated version of the Huawei Enjoy 60 smartphone. Huawei also claims that they added some decent internal specs to make the experience of using the smartphone just as good as it feels to hold the smartphone.

We will thoroughly go through these specs to ensure just how good these specs are. On paper, every piece of hardware looks decent, but in reality can often be the opposite. Today, we are reviewing the Huawei Enjoy 60X  to see if the company delivers what it claims. Take this journey with us today as we break down and analyze everything that this smartphone has to offer. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Huawei Enjoy 60X smartphone and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Huawei Enjoy 60X Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The Huawei Enjoy 60X has a 6.95-inch TFT LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate support.
  2. The chipset inside the smartphone is the 6nmQualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G SoC that can reach up to a 4×2.4GHz clocking speed.
  3. The smartphone comes with HarmonyOS 3.0, which is based on the Android operating system.
  4. The main rear camera of the smartphone has a 50MP sensor while the selfie camera has a 8MP sensor.
  5. The smartphone is powered by a Li-Po 7000 mAh battery with a 22.5W fast-wired charger.

Design and Display

The design is one area where the smartphone punches above its weight. For an ordinary person, the design of this smartphone will look absolutely flagship-like. The device looks like a flagship smartphone, the chamfered side frame features a metallic finish, which makes it look like it’s made out of aluminum or stainless steel, even though it’s plastic. This design looks very common on Huawei phones and is similar to the Huawei Nova Y91 smartphone.

The back, however, is available in both plastic and faux leather versions. If you are planning to buy this smartphone, you should check for the Orangecolorleather variant. It looks and feels absolutely fantastic. However, if you are not a fan of leather, a plastic version is also available. The leather variants are in Orange color, while the plastic variants are available in Silver, Green, and Black.

On the front, you get a 6.95-inch TFT LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The inclusion of a 90Hz high refresh rate will certainly make using the smartphone a lot better, while the absence of better nits brightness will disappoint a bit. Speaking of the overall display department, you are not going to face issues, still, an AMOLED panel and high nits brightness support are expected from this smartphone as per its price segment.

Memory and Internal

The smartphone features the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6804G chipset that is capable of reaching up to a 4×2.4GHz clocking speed. This is a new chipset that was recently released as an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 665 but with a higher clock rate. Being clocked at 2.4GHz, this chipset is quite powerful and can easily breeze through almost all apps and games on your smartphone, whereas other chips with just 2 GHz may struggle in some cases.

The Adreno 610GPU in the chipset has enough power to run PUBG mobile andCODm at respectable settings and smooth framerates. However, the smartphone is not 5G-ready as the chipset doesn’t feature a 5G-capable modem. For RAM and storage, the smartphone is available for purchase with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, while the base variant has 128GB of internal storage. When it comes to the software, the smartphone is running on HarmonyOS 3.0, which is based on AndroidOS.The chipset has a decent performance and power but the absence of 5G connectivity is surely a letdown. Aside from this, the device runs on an Android fork without any custom interface, so you have restricted customization options while some bloatware apps may also be present.

Camera

The Huawei Enjoy 60X smartphone sports a dual-camera system at the back. The main rear camera is the 50MP sensor, which is optimized to capture pictures with high dynamic range, true-to-life colors, and incredible details. The pictures look sharp when you zoom into pictures. The main camera is decent and can take good daylight photography.

However, there can be a tiny shutter lag when taking pictures with night mode, but we can’t expect a lot from a budget phone. Apart from this, there is a 2MP depth lens on the rear setup. The selfie camera features an 8MP sensor that can shoot some decent selfies in daylight, but not that great. As for video recording, the phone can only shoot a maximum of 1080p videos at 30FPS from both the rear camera and the selfie camera. All in all, the camera experience with the Huawei Enjoy 60X would be just average.

Battery and Others

The Huawei Enjoy 60X smartphone has a Li-Po 7000mAh battery, which is huge for a smartphone of this caliber, so the smartphone has an excellent backup and can easily last for 2 days with moderate usage. When you do run out of battery, there’s nothing to worry about as the smartphone supports 22.5W wired fast charging.

The cherry on top is that the fast charger is included in the box and you don’t need to buy it separately. The smartphone can also reverse charging support with the 22.5W, but it’s only available with the 512GB storage model. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $255 (Rs 20,790 in India) approx. for the base variant.

Conclusion

The Huawei Enjoy 60X is a decent smartphone of 2023 that is not going to break your wallet. Seeing the design of the smartphone, people can definitely say that the company has put a lot of thought into it and they definitely surprised everyone. The smartphone arrives with a pretty balanced set of specs but still, there are some major downsides of this smartphone. Firstly, an AMOLED panel is expected in this price range with an improved refresh rate and high nits brightness support. The alternative smartphones in this price segment offer all these things and so the display section of Huawei Enjoy 60X feels quite underwhelming. Besides this, 5G connectivity is not available on the device and the camera section is also just average.

Apart from design, nothing in this device feels refreshing and if you talk about the better sides of the phone, then certainly it is the battery section. This device feels a bit underperforming and high on the pricing side as per the specs offered. If you are looking for an alternative option, then we recommend you to check the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite which arrives with better specs in the same pricing segment. However, the final decision is up to you so choose a device based on your requirements.
