Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus

Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge Review – The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge was launched in India on January 12, 2022. It was the first phone in India to launch with a 120W HyperCharge fast charger that promises to charge the phone in just 15 minutes. With the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, the company also brought the first phone in India that comes with Mediatek Dimensity 920 5G SoC. Both of these features are excellent and certainly raised the bar for the competition.

The phone also sports a new flat design that every other company seems to be adopting. But are these unique features going to be enough for you to decide? We would ask that you read the entire review before you choose to buy this smartphone as it has a few surprising disadvantages as well. Let’s started with a detailed review of the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge smartphone.

Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge Review

Highlights

  1. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge features 6.67 inches Full HD+ AMOLED display with an HDR10 and 120Hz refresh rate.
  2. The chipset powering the phone is the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 920 5G SoC that is clocked at a max 2.5GHz.
  3. It has an Android 11 OS with MIUI 12.5 E (Enhanced Edition) support.
  4. The main rear camera sensor is 108MP, while the selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
  5. The battery has a capacity of Li-Po 4500 mAh, and it comes with a super-fast 120W HyperCharger.

Design and Display

The phone offers a flat design on the back, or so it seems. A lot of phones have started adopting the flat design, and the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is no exception. The frame that runs around the edges of the phone is flat, the back panel is flat, and the front of the phone, that is, the display, is also flat. The phone is big, and the sides were curved, the chances of the phone slipping out of your hands would have been pretty high, but the flat edge saves it.

The back panel has a plain matte finish or a shiny finish depending on the color. The colors that come in a matte finish are Stealth Black, Camo Green, Purple Mist, and Pacific Pearl which has retained a shiny look. The display available on the smartphone is 6.67 inches of AMOLED Full HD+ display, and it is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 coating.

The AMOLED display has a 120 Hz of refresh rate and can get bright enough at 1200 nits peak. The display also has HDR10 certification, and the phone is IP53 rated for dust and splash protection. Talk about the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge phone its weight is only 204g and it looks like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+ in design and specs.

Memory and Internal

The 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 920 5G SoC is the chipset that is found inside the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge. For all the performance needs, you get an octa-core configuration where there are 2X Cortex-A78, and they are clocked at max 2.6 GHz speed, while the 6 power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 2 GHz speed. This CPU configuration is powerful enough to handle all your day-to-day apps as well as power-hungry apps.

For high-end mobile games, you get the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, which promises to provide over 35% improved graphics performance while giving you a 30% reduction in power consumption when compared to the previous generation Dimensity chipsets. So, performance is top-notch without any overheating issues. The base variant of the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge smartphone starts with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.

There is a shared SIM micro SD card slot for extra storage. Being manufactured on a 6nm lithography process, this processor will consume less battery while providing more performance. You will also get the Android 11 OS, and it comes with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition custom UI, so expect smoother performance. Not to forget that the device also supports a 5G service.

Camera

The main highlight of the 11i HyperCharge smartphone is the triple rear camera system is the 108MP main sensor that is expected to offer amazing images with details, but it doesn’t. That’s not to say that the camera is bad, and it’s not, but if you compare this with Xiaomi’s other mid-range options, such as the Redmi Note 10 Pro Plus, which also has a 108MP sensor, the camera certainly underperforms.

The second camera is the 8MP ultrawide, and we already know that the performance of the ultra-wide camera of Xiaomi’s mid-range phone is average. The night-time shots were not as bad as the daytime shots. The phone also features a so-called 2MP macro lens on the rear camera setup. The 16MP selfie camera takes more than decent pictures, and there’s nothing to complain about.

The colors are just natural, and the skin tone is a bit warm. For video recording, the phone manages to shoot up to 4K at 30fps from the rear camera while the selfie camera maxes out at 1080p. Unfortunately, there is no gyro-EIS support for video recording, which will disappoint with the video quality.

Battery and Others

The battery inside the device has a capacity of Li-Po 4500mAh, and it comes with a super-fast 120W HyperCharger. The HyperCharger can completely charge the phone in just 15 minutes which is amazing in its own way. The battery should easily last more than a day, and with the 120W HyperCharger, you don’t have to worry about a thing.

The phone has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The phone is on sale, and you can buy the smartphone for $369 (Rs 27,999 in India) approx. for the base variant that is for the base variant, while the higher variant will cost you more.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge smartphone design is excellent, the matte glass back certainly makes it even more premium. You also get a chipset that will perform close to the flagship phone, 5G support, AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, and plus 120W HyperCharger. If all of these features are something you want in your smartphone, you will love this phone.

The camera is not bad at all, but there is a better option at this price range are available in the market. The missing Android 12 OS also disappoints some users. In case you are looking for an alternative option with better camera performance, the Oppo Reno 7 smartphone is a great deal with a top-notch camera.
