Vivo Y33

Vivo Y33 Review – Vivo launched a new budget smartphone under the Y series in October 2021. Vivo Y33 is a mid-range mobile phone with average specifications. So, from the start, we didn’t recommend you to aim for higher expectations. Today, everyone needs a budget-friendly smartphone fitted with all the essential elements. Vivo Y33 may fulfill some of your needs, while some may get disappointed with the overall features and specs.

The phone arrives with a big screen, decent processing power, long-lasting battery, a reasonable camera is all that sums up the Vivo Y33. Usually, this combo appears in the mid-range smartphone market, but that’s not all. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Vivo Y33.

Vivo Y33 Review

Highlights

  1. The Vivo Y33 flaunts a 6.58 inches IPS LCD display panel with a Full HD+ resolution.
  2. The phone comes with a 48 MP dual rear camera with a 16MP selfie camera and various shooting modes.
  3. It furnishes a standard 12nm MediaTek Helio G80 chipset that grants a max 2x 2.0GHz cloaking speed.
  4. While for the software, it fetches Android 11 OS software layering with FunTouch OS 11.1 interface.
  5. Vivo Y33 brings a ample battery with Li-Po 5000 mAh battery power and an 18W fast charger.

Design and Display

Like all the phones under this rage, the Vivo Y33 sports a sleek and elegant layout that makes the appearance pleasing to interested buyers. It has a glass front with a water-drop notch in the center, which is quite common in Androids. The mirror finish at the plastic back looks great but may make the device more prone to scratches or fingerprint marks.

The fingerprint sensor located on the side is not fast but surely accurate, thus making the operations easy for the users. Also, the 191 grams device is neither too heavy to hold nor is it a lite one. Black & Light Blue are the only two colors offered in the Vivo Y33 smartphone.

Talking about the display Vivo Y33 has a 6.58 inches IPS LCD panel. So you get Clarity while watching movies and playing games, but it equips but it doesn’t equip any branded glass protection. However, nothing is exciting regarding the design & display section, but also you won’t face any difficulties in average daily usage.

Memory and Internal

The Vivo Y33 comes with the 12nm MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor that has a clocking speed of just up to 2.0Ghz. You can still get an average user experience without much hassle. Following this, you will attain the FunTouch OS 11.1 UI based on Android 11 OS software layering, which results in minimum bloatware. The hardware & software section is not too impressive still manageable. But what you can expect from the entry-level phones.

You may enjoy gaming smoothly, but you won’t be receiving the next-level gameplay experience. Though the overall interface does feel a bit boring compared to the stock android experience, on the other hand, you will also notice some bloatware apps. Although the phone is not lacking in the customization aspect, the bloatware apps and ads notification disturb the whole mood.

Whereas 128GB Internal memory may supply enough space to keep files, data, or download apps but 4 GB RAM is a questionable choice for heavy users. Despite this, you are still getting the secondary storage unit that can expand the limits. But still, the memory & display does not justify the pricing of Vivo Y33 altogether.

Camera

Vivo Y33 owns a triple camera setup with a 48 Megapixel primary camera. The pictures clicked in a properly lit environment come out nice though the night photos are average. Correspondingly, the portrait images are decent too. Alongside, here comes a 16 MP front camera, delivering apt results. Selfies are ideal under daylight, but they lack details when zoomed in.

Apart from this, the main camera island offers a secondary camera setup for 2MP depth and a 2MP macro lens. The combo of these lenses didn’t impact much on the overall camera quality. But still, they provide a dynamic range without any hassle making the Vivio Y33 a great deal for the camera enthusiast. However, the same thing can’t express for the lowlight photography as the camera setup wasn’t able to capture the footage with apt lighting.

On the other hand, you can only record up to 1080p resolution videos using both camera modules. Footage will not be outstanding but also not like that of some entry-level phones. Other camera features will include LED flash, HDR, panorama are available for you. Besides this, the native camera app renders custom features that improvise the camera quality. You can also try different filters and modes to capture the best moment of your life.

Battery and Others

As highlighted above, Vivo Y33 arrives with an ample Li-Po 5000 mAh battery power accompanied by 18W Fast charging support. Though the Vivo device can pull you through a day of usage & lets you play games for hours, the charger could have been better & stronger at this price. Yes, Vivo Y33 is priced around $210 (Rs 15,999 in India) approx, while some of its specifications are really not worthy.

Yet, If there is 5G connectivity, surely it is a plus point. Besides, It is integrated with comms & sensors such as Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, etc. Well, as far as “value for money” is concerned you must consider comparing several alternatives in the same price group.

Conclusion

VIVO’s quality control and finesse improved dramatically. It now makes some of the most durable and reliable phones on the market. Hence there’s nothing to worry about the brand. Yet considering the price, the non 5G Vivo Y33 smartphone does have some disappointing traits that could have been upgraded.

Whereas performance, camera & display are just average. All the smartphones seem attractive on the internet, and it is complex to select one, this review might help you in some way. If you want to check out alternatives like the Infinix Zero 5G smartphone, or you can also go with the Realme 9 Pro smartphone.
