Design and Display

Vivo X90s, the newest member of the X series of smartphones from Vivo, was designed with excellent craftsmanship. The smartphone is available in Black, Red, Green, and white colors. One look at these colors and you can immediately tell the level of craftmanship Vivo went through to achieve this quality. The green-colored variant looks like it’s a smartphone that comes out straight from a candy store.

It’s a pale green as opposed to contrasty/flashy green. It’s quite subtle and that looks so elegant. It’s made of glass material and the same goes for the other colors as well, except for the Red color variant, which is only available with leatherback. The leather does make the smartphone more premium to the touch, but then again the color Red looks quite flashy. That’s kind of perfect though. Those who prefer subtle and classy looks can go with Green, Black, or White, but those who prefer flashy colors can go with Red.

The side frame is made out of aluminum and it’s rock solid, which gives the smartphone its rigidity and it does need it. That’s because the smartphone is very slim and features a curved display and they are prone to damage more than flat displays. Having that metallic side frame will certainly help strengthen the smartphone. On the front, you get a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display panel with a 120Hz high refresh rate and 1 billion colors support.

The content on the screen looks very sharp and the display can also get pretty bright with 1300 nits peak brightness under direct sunlight, making it easy for you to read and watch content on your phone. The smartphone also has an IP54 dust and splash resistance and the inclusion of 120Hz refresh rates makes for a completely engaging experience that gamers will like. Furthermore, the device looks quite impressive with thin bezels and a tiny dot notch at the center.

Memory and Internal

The smartphone features the 4nm Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ CPU, which is Mediatek’s finest chipset to date. A true flagship processor and has the power to go toe to toe with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The SoC can reach up to a 1×3.35 GHz clocking speed and so this processor has all the performance you require to run your favorite apps and games. The Immortalis-G715 MC11GPU in the chipset can easily run modern games like Genshin Impact, CODm, and PUBG with high framerate without consuming too much battery.

Playing games on this smartphone is very smooth and you will have a blast of time playing games. The Vivo X90s is powered by the latest Android 13 OS with OriginOS 3 user interface. The smartphone can be purchased with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, while the base variant arrives with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The internal storage chip that’s powering the smartphone is a UFS 4.0, which is the fastest Android storage chip.

Also, since the smartphone has such high storage variants, you won’t have to be concerned about going out of storage space and you can install as many movies, music, or games as you want. Aside from this, the smartphone also has 5G networking capabilities.

Camera

When it comes to optics, the Vivo X90s has a 50MP triple camera system at the rear that includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom capabilities. The main camera sensor allows you to take incredible photographs with incredible clarity and immersive colors. The ultra-wide camera is perfect for group pictures or sceneries and the quality of the sensor closely matches the main sensor. The 12MP telephoto camera can also capture some amazing closeup shots.

The zoom sensor can zoom further than 2x when it’s combined with digital zoom and often manages to capture great shots with amazing details and colors. Night photography is on a different level as the cameras are highly sensitive to light and when combined with dedicated night mode, it allows you to capture some truly great images and it’s during the night when you get to see the true power of this custom chip.

On the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera, which can capture some good pictures with even and proper skin tones. This is something that many smartphones mess up, especially with darker skin tones, but not the Vivo X90s. The video recording capability of the smartphone is also quite impressive. The primary camera is capable of recording videos at 4K@60FPS with gyro-EIS support. However, the front camera is only capable of recording 1080p videos@60FPS.

Battery and Others

The Li-Po 4810mAh battery included with the Vivo X90 will allow you to play movies, video games, or listen to music for hours. With light use, the device can run for a day and a half. However, if you play a lot of games, the smartphone will not last that long. But when you do run out of battery, there isn’t a lot to be worried about. That’s because the smartphone supports 120W fast charging. Aside from this, the device has support for reverse charging as well.

So, put all your worries away about the battery losing energy as the smartphone can be charged up to 50% in just 8 minutes. The Vivo X90s also features triple-band Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, IRsensor, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port. It also has an optical under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. The Vivo X90s is available for sale starting at $550 (Rs 45,000 in India) approx.

It’s a smartphone that has been able to easily defeat other flagship smartphones whether it’s their performance or the camera department. The Vivo X90s smartphone absolutely excels in every category and can easily keep up with your exquisite lifestyle. The Vivo X90s promises to provide an exceptional experience through the use of both cutting-edge technology and proper software optimization. and high-end specifications.

Speaking of downsides, the presence of 8K recording and wireless charging support would have added more value to the users. Apart from this, the battery capacity feels a bit underwhelming according to the current trends in the market.

However, if Vivo smartphones are not available in your country yet, then you can check out the Xiaomi 13 smartphone, which also features similar specifications and should be around a similar price point. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
