This phone comes with a simple design layout that looks quite nice. The display size is large, got MediaTek Dimensity chipset, high-end processor, and decent storage with standard RAM size as well mammoth battery capacity. In this article, we will be looking for the interesting features Samsung Galaxy A13 have as well as the features it has missed out on. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A13 Review

Highlights

  1. Lightweight smartphone, with a large PLS TFT display (6.5 inches), that has 720×1600 pixels resolution.
  2. One UI Operating System is there in integration with the Android 11 to ensure a seamless user experience.
  3. It has got an Octa-core processor supported by MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset.
  4. The primary camera is 50MP, having a depth camera plus a macro camera, both of 2MP, together with a selfie camera of 5MP.
  5. The large Li-Po 5000 mAh battery is enough to keep you connected the entire day, and got a 15W fast charger.

Design and Display

The simple design layout of the Samsung Galaxy A13 gives you the most preferred professional color – Black. Sadly, you don’t have any other color option for this phone from Samsung. The phone is quite slim and weighs only 195 grams. The thickness is around 8.8 mm. From the hand-holding aspect, there will be no issue, you won’t feel it heavy on your hand.

The materials used to make the body is plastic on the frames and back as well. On the front side, it has got glass finished, but sadly there is no support of Gorilla glass protection. There are three card slots in total – two SIM slots and another for the SD card.

Talking about the display, this smartphone has a 6.5 inches PLS TFT screen and the refresh rate is 90Hz. This display type was manufactured by Samsung as well, as a rival of the current IPS display. Though, this display type is not very popular.

The bezels are not that slim, as offered by many recent manufacturers. However, the screen-to-body ratio is 81.1% which is decent and it supports a resolution of up to 720 x 1600 pixels. The PPI density is 270, which is lower than the recent smartphone standard.

Memory and Internal

No doubt, the Samsung Galaxy A13 has got the Android 11 OS which is further integrated with the custom operating system of One UI. Thus, the navigation and user interface are easier here, at the same time it ensures a visually appealing display.

To boost the performance, the smartphone has got the support of ARM’s fast mid-range SoC – MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 5G, operating on an Octa-core processor (2.2 GHz), as well as have ARM’s Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card. The chipset is based on the 7nm technology, which is the recent standard and supports a 5G connection.

Overall you will be able to play standard games at a decent speed, if RAM was a little high it would be better. Due to low RAM, you may not play games like PUBG, BGMI very smoothly, plus it can create heating issues. There will be uninterrupted video streaming or binge-watching on NetFlix and YouTube. However, due to the 720p resolution users will not get a good FHD quality image.

Although, Samsung Galaxy A13 is configured with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Memory. Yes, there is only one variant in terms of RAM and ROM. so, you may need an external SD card, you need to purchase it separately. No worry, the Galaxy A13 got space for a dedicated card slot along with two Nano-SIM card slots.

Camera

Definitely, the Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone has got a Triple camera setup. The primary lens is 50MP, besides having a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro camera. When you are capturing photos in daylight the picture will be captured with intense detail and clarity. But don’t think the zoom feature will keep you satisfied as well you may face hurdles during night time, to keep your photography skill at a good level.

Moreover, the phone has got a selfie camera too, which is 5MP. Maybe, it can capture from a close distance and look beautiful with AI-enabled functions and settings. But, a 5MP selfie camera is very minimal, you can’t be satisfied with that.

Both the rear and front camera is capable to capture videos at a frame rate of 30fps, at a resolution of 1080 pixels. LED flash is supported on the back camera but no flashlight is in there on the front side and the back camera has an HDR feature, but unfortunately, there is no 4K video recording feature. Also doesn’t have a standard video stabilizer support of gyro-EIS.

Battery and Others

The battery department of the Samsung Galaxy A13 is quite strong. This phone has the support of a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery, together with a 15W fast charger, to charge up the device in a short time with USB Type-C 2.0 slot. While taking a look at other features, the Galaxy A13 has a fingerprint sensor on the side, in integration with the power button.

Besides, it has an accelerometer, gyro, compass, barometer, and Virtual proximity sensor. The last sensor is very useful, as it can detect your ear while you hold the phone for a voice call. Another most important and demanding feature is NFC support for a hassle-free payment experience. The Samsung Galaxy A13 smartphone is available at a price of $249 (Rs. 18,500 in India) approx.

Conclusion

Overall the Samsung Galaxy A13 is a decent smartphone that has a large display, huge battery support, gaming processor, and enhanced performance due to 7nm technology and users would enjoy a 5G support.

Definitely, the camera department may disappoint some users, but overall, this is a good smartphone from a reliable brand at an affordable cost. But it has missed some industry-standard features, as there is no AMOLED display, no Gorilla Glass protection, no gyro-EIS sensor, and also don’t have any IP certification. If you are not ready to go with the Samsung Galaxy A13, and looking for an alternative option definitely take a look at the Motorola Moto G71 smartphone.
