Design and Display

The Realme GT 5 Pro follows the curved design language that has become quite popular by the end of 2023 in the flagship space. This may look quite good if it’s done right and it is done right. The curves around the sides are chamfered and feel quite comfortable in the hand while the top and the bottom portion of the smartphone are flat. So, it can even stand upright with a little bit of patience.

The side and the mid-frame are made out of metal, while the rear frame is made of both glass and vegan leather depending on the choice of color. The smartphone is available in Silver, Orange, and Black color options. The Silver and Orange color options have a vegan leather rear while the Black color variant has the glass rear. You can choose from any one of the three options.

On the front, you get a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 144Hz high refresh rate support, which makes everything that happens on the screen super smooth. The display also has support for 1 Billion colors, HDR10+, and even Dolby Vision. Watching content on this display is going to be a lot of fun. On top of that, the display can get adequately bright at 4500 nits when you go outside on a bright sunny day, so you won’t have any trouble. The Realme GT 5 Pro is also protected against dust and water as it has been certified with IP64 certification.

Memory and Internal

The Realme GT 5 Pro features the newest flagship 4nm Qualcomm SM8650-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G chipset. This is the fastest and the latest flagship Android chipset in the world and it has all the power that you need. It has a clock speed of 1×3.3 GHz like most flagships, you can run anything you want on it, whether that’s social media apps, games, or any productivity software.

For gaming, the Adreno 750 GPU is extremely good at running any demanding and high-fidelity games. So, you can run all your favorite games like Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, and CODm at the highest graphical fidelity. When it comes to the OS, the Realme GT 5 Pro is running on Android 14 out of the box, which ensures you get all the latest features and the best user experience possible.

This software experience is further expanded with the Realme UI 5.0 user interface for better customization support. Also, the chipset supports 5G connectivity, so you can download multiple files at gigabit speeds and also have lower latency during your gaming session. For RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 12GB to 16GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Camera

The Realme GT 5 Pro sports a 50MP triple rear-camera system. The main 50MP rear camera is capable of taking some amazing pictures. These pictures have excellent detail levels, a higher dynamic range, and a natural color tone. The detail levels are preserved when zoomed in. Smartphones have reached a point where no matter which smartphone you get, it’s going to have a great camera performance.

That is as long as you get a flagship smartphone, which this is. The secondary camera has a 50MP periscopic telephoto lens. The sensor can take pictures at 2.7x zoom levels and the picture quality is fantastic. The images look sharp even if you zoom in, thanks to all the details that the sensors managed to preserve.

The third sensor is the 8MP ultra-wide, which takes ultra-wide 112˚ FOV images, which are quite detailed but have a soft look that we often see in other smartphones. After all, these are taken from an 8MP sensor, so you can expect much. But the main two cameras are quite good. For the selfie camera, there’s the 32MP sensor that takes some decent selfies with good detail levels and a natural color tone.

As for video recording, the Realme GT 5 Pro can shoot at a maximum of 8K@24FPS or 4K@120FPS from the rear cameras, while the selfie camera can only shoot at a maximum of 4K@30FPS. Also, the rear camera system has both OIS and gyro-EIS video stabilization systems to shoot action scenes with great stability. However, the selfie sensor only has gyro-EIS.

Battery and Others

The Realme GT 5 Pro has a Li-Ion 5400 mAh non-removable battery, so the Realme GT 5 Pro will provide excellent backup. It can last 1 – 2 days easily with light to moderate usage. But if you play games for a long period, the battery will drain faster and last less than a day full day. But it will still provide a lot of battery even for gamers, so there’s nothing to worry about.

As for charging, this smartphone also supports the 100W wired fast charger, which will fully charge the smartphone in under 35 minutes. The smartphone also supports 50W wireless fast charging, which will also charge the smartphone in under 50 minutes. Apart from that, the smartphone also has Wi-Fi 6/7, Bluetooth 5.4, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The Realme GT 5 Pro starts at $468 (Rs 38,990 in India) approx for the base variant.

Conclusion

The Realme GT 5 Pro is a true flagship smartphone that not only has the top-level specs but also has the bells and whistles to make it a true flagship, including eco leather body, Dolby Atmos, wireless charging, and even dust and water resistance. On top of that, you get a fantastic camera experience, if you can ignore the average ultra-wide camera.

Talking about the disadvantages, the phone does not come with Gorilla Glass protection and reverse wireless charging support. Now that is acceptable because you can’t get everything, especially not at this price range. Users looking for the best camera phone in a decent price range can opt for the Realme GT 5 Pro. If you want an alternative to this, then you can check out the ZTE Nubia Z60 Ultra. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
