Speaking of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro, the device has an impressive screen and arrives with a thin body to attract buyers.

Aside from this, the device mainly caters to camera lovers while also retaining the performance a user asks for. The Oppo Reno 10 Prowas launched in July 2023 and we have finally decided to review the smartphone to figure out what it can deliver. We will deep dive into all the details of every aspect of the smartphone. Let’s get started with a detailed review of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro smartphone.

  5. The smartphone features a Li-Po 4600 mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging along with support for reverse wired charging.

Design and Display

The design of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro is a significant departure from the previous models. The colorful Pink Gradient color or the Gold color are gone and Oppo instead chose to go with colors that have rather subtle tones. The subtle color tone and choice of colors along with the finish of the materials give the smartphone a whole new vibe. The colors featured in the Oppo Reno 10 Pro are Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple. The Silvery Grey is as subtle as things can be and perfect for those who don’t prefer flashy colors.

The second color variant Glossy Purple may sound glossy but it’s hardly the case. The camera module at the top of the smartphone is also a lot different from the previous variant, Reno 9 Pro.  The new camera module of the Reno 10 Pro looks modern, sleek, and elegant. The back panel of both colors is made out of glass while the side frame is made out of plastic, which gives the smartphone its rigidity and sturdiness.

On the front, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The display is protected by Asahi Glass’s AGC DT-Star2protection, which is just as durable and scratch-resistant as the Gorilla Glass Victus. The display panel can render up to 1 Billion colors and is HDR 10+ certified, so you can play all your HDR10+ content correctly.

It can also get as bright as 950 nits peak brightness under direct sunlight, so viewing content outdoors is not going to be an issue on the smartphone. Aside from this, the phone has a slim 7.9mm body and weighs around 185 grams. The overall display section is decent but a better nits peak brightness and an OLED panel are expected from this device. However, the absence of all these will not interrupt you from having a decent user experience.

Memory and Internal

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro has been outfitted with the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC, which is a very capable SoC. The SoC can reach up to a 1×2.4GHz clocking speed which makes it incredibly easy to run all your favorite apps. The app opening speed is incredibly fast and switching between apps will also be a lot smoother, all thanks to this incredible SoC.

The chipset also has support for 5G connectivity, so you can enjoy gigabit speeds on this smartphone. The Adreno 642L GPU in the chipset is also quite powerful and can easily run modern games like Genshin Impact, CODm, and PUBG with smoother framerates. As for memory and storage, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro can be purchased with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The smartphone comes with the latest Android 13 OS with ColorOS 13.1 interface, which provides a lot of customization options to the users. Unfortunately, there’s no support for MicroSD expansion. The overall performance will be satisfactory however there are a bit restrictions on the speed of the processor. Alongside this, the device may come preloaded with some bloatware apps that can be annoying to users.

Camera

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro has a triple rear camera system that features a 50MP sensor as the primary camera, a 32MP sensor as the telephoto camera, and an 8MP sensor as the ultra-wide camera. The photos from the primary 50MP sensor have amazing details, splendid colors, and a wide dynamic range. These pictures tend to retain details in the shadows and the highlights as well, so even if you zoom in a little, there won’t be any blurriness, and if you want to zoom in to the subjects further, then there is the 32MP telephoto zoom sensor.

This zoom sensor is optimized and can get 2x zoomed shots, which can be further expanded with hybrid zoom and then there’s the ultra-wide sensor when you need that wide field of view. The 8MP ultra-wide sensor also manages the same amazing shots, but some detail levels may fall behind when compared to the other two sensors. The sensors are optimized to capture more light, so during the night, the photos you shoot will have more details than other smartphones. The selfie camera at the front consists of a 32MP sensor, which can take some great selfies with perfect skin tones.

For video recording, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro can shoot up to 4Kvideos@30FPS from the main rear camera, but the selfie camera can only shoot at a maximum of 1080pvideos@30FPS. Also, the rear cameras have support for OIS as well as gyro-EIS, so any footage you shoot through this smartphone’s cameras will be very stable.

Battery and Others

Oppo has included a Li-Po 4600 mAh battery for the Oppo Reno 10 Pro. It can last about 1 – 2 days on light to moderate usage. But if you are a gamer or take a lot of pictures or do a lot of video editing, then the smartphone will not last a full day. However, you will be glad to know that the smartphone supports 80Wfast wired charging which will fully charge the smartphone in about 30 – 35 mins.

The smartphone also has support for reverse-wired charging, but the exact power isn’t revealed by Oppo. Reverse charging essentially allows you to charge other devices such as Bluetooth earphones from your smartphone’s battery. The smartphone also has an under-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Infrared sensor, GPS, and a USB Type C port for charging. The price of the smartphone is $455 (Rs 37,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

If you are someone whose main preference in a new smartphone is the camera, then the Oppo Reno 10 Pro provides everything you expect. It is a camera-centric smartphone that may not have the best display or the best SoC, but it definitely has one of the best cameras in that price range. Oppo claimed to provide an excellent camera experience and that’s exactly what they did with the smartphone. The smartphone takes fantastic photos that have rich colors and great detail levels. Even when you zoom in, the detail levels stay sharp.

Apart from this, the design, display, processing, and even the battery will provide more than a decent experience. But if you want that amazing camera with an equally amazing SoC and other components, then you can take a look at the Xiaomi 13T, which also happens to have a great camera setup. The alternative arrives with a bit better set of specs, however, the final decision is up to you and your requirements.
