Oppo A76 Smartphone Review – The Oppo A76 smartphone was announced in India in February 2022. The phone was also launched globally, starting in the UK, and the launch will be followed by other countries. In terms of pure design, the phone looks a bit like the Oppo A96 especially due to the design of the camera module. It isn’t surprising that some of their smartphones look a bit like other smartphones from Oppo. But apart from the design, the rest of the specifications are quite different.
The phone doesn’t have 5G support either, but aside from that, you’ll get a decent screen, camera, chipset, and battery support. This is a budget phone so we should expect extraordinary things from it. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Oppo A76 smartphone.

Oppo A76 Smartphone Review

Design and Display
The design of the Oppo A76 is new to the “A” series of Oppo phones, but it’s not completely new. The entire phone is made out of plastic. But the rounded edges are actually good as it gives a firm grip on your phone and makes it impossible for the phone to slip out of your hands. Considering the price tag, we wished it had a glass back or a premium design.
As for the front of the phone, the phone features 6.56 inches IPS LCD display and a punch hole for the selfie camera. The display panel is of good quality and it features a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel can get as bright as 600 nits brightness under direct sunlight. Even though it’s an IPS panel, it features accurate colors, and its contents look fine on the display. The lack of Full HD resolution may not sit well with everyone, but it is what it is. The phone features two colors, Glowing Blue and Glowing Black.
Memory and Internal
As for the internal, the phone is powered by the 6nm Snapdragon 680 SoC, which doesn’t have a 5G modem and so the phone doesn’t feature any 5G connectivity. For high-performance and gaming needs, the phone can reach up to 2.4GHz clocking speed for smooth performance. The inclusion of 4 powerful and 4 power-efficient cores will ensure your phone gets more power when you run powerful apps and games, but they will save power and battery when you run low-powered apps such as Youtube.
For gaming, you get the Adreno 610 GPU, and while it can play games such as PUBG and CODm at lower graphics, you will not be very satisfied. There will be occasional lags every once in a while, and a game like Genshin Impact will not play very smoothly. The phone comes in only 2 variants, 4GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
While 128GB of internal storage is a lot of storage, if you want to expand the storage, there’s MicroSD card support as well. For the operating system, you get Android 11 OS with ColorOS 11.1 UI on top of it. We hope it gets the Android 12 OS update. It’s sad to see newer phones launching with Android 11 OS, especially since it has been months since Android 12 first launched.
Camera
There’s not much to be excited about in the camera department. There are just two sensors in the back, a 13MP main sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor but the front camera has an 8MP sensor. The 13MP sensor takes decent pictures with a good amount of details, but considering the amount of price you will pay, the quality is not that good.
The 8MP selfie camera, however, can take decent selfies with the right skin tones and decent color balance. The night shots are just average and, in some situations, there’s just too much noise to post it on social media sites. The phone also has a dedicated night mode that enhances the low-light pictures, but even with it turned on, the quality is just average. For video recording, the phone manages to shoot up to 1080P@30FPS from both the rear camera and the selfie camera.
Battery and Others
The Oppo A76 equips a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery and it comes with a 33W fast charger. The performance of the fast is actually quite good compared to other smartphones and doesn’t overheat the smartphone while charging. The battery capacity is quite impressive and can actually deliver 2-day battery life with this smartphone easily.
Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The Oppo A76 was launched in India at the price of $225 (Rs. 16,990 in India) approx. for the base variant and costs a little more for the 6GB model.

Conclusion
The Oppo A76 smartphone has only two definite attractions and that’s the design and the internals, but even that is a stretch considering the price tag. The only reason you should buy this smartphone is if you like the design and the processor of this smartphone or if you prefer the brand Oppo. But if you want something better, there are quite a bit of options at this price tag.
For an alternative option, the BLU F91 smartphone is a far better option in the almost same price range. They have a better chipset and battery, and a far better camera. Based on the specs of the Oppo A76, we don’t think the price is justified but the final decision is up to you.
