Motorola Moto G34

Motorola Moto G34 Smartphone Review – Motorola launched the Motorola Moto G34 on December 2023 with much fanfare. The smartphone will also be available globally soon and is meant to be Motorola’s newest budget smartphone. But a budget smartphone doesn’t mean low-end. Not at all. Motorola packed some quality hardware inside to satisfy the newer users but they did so without increasing the price tag unnecessarily.

Motorola even included 5G connectivity to the smartphone, which should show just how serious Motorola is about the new budget 5G smartphone. It also features a new design that allowed Motorola to be competitive while also providing a great experience. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Motorola Moto G34 smartphone and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display

Smartphone manufacturers do a lot of research when it comes to designing a smartphone. Like what kind of materials to use for the mid and the side frame as this determines the durability and overall strength of the smartphone. Then what should the rear panel be made of? Glass or polycarbonate? And what kind of designs or patterns will there be?

You see smartphone manufacturers have to put in a lot of research and resources when building a smartphone. It often ends up increasing the cost of the smartphone, so it didn’t get much priority in Motorola’s decision. However, Motorolla still managed to create a decent design with a chamfered side frame and a flat rear panel.

This provides a solid grip and won’t slip out of your hands easily. The smartphone is also quite rigid. The Motorola Moto G34 comes in four colors, Charcoal Black, Ice Blue, Ocean Green, and Vanilla Cream. On the front, you will find the 6.5-inch IPS display with 120Hz high refresh rate support for a smooth user experience. However, this is not an FHD+ panel, so there’s a little compromise there, but it’s good color-accurate panel.

Memory and Internal

Motorola has equipped the Motorola Moto G34 with the 6nm Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G SoC. This chipset is capable of reaching up to 2×2.2 GHz clock speed, so it has enough performance to run all your daily apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, and more, on the smartphone smoothly and efficiently.

This is a pretty popular chipset that was usually reserved for higher-priced smartphones, but it is now available in a budget smartphone like the Moto G34. For gaming, this Snapdragon chipset comes included with the Adreno 619 GPU. This GPU can run games like PUBG mobile, CODm, and even Genshin Impact at decent framerates.

Also, you can probably tell from the name that it’s a 5G smartphone. When it comes to the software, the Motorola Moto G34 is running on Android 13 or Android 14 OS with a stock user interface for better user experience. For RAM and storage, the smartphone comes with up to 4GB to 8GB of RAM and 64GB to 256GB of internal storage. The Motorola Moto G34 also has a shared microSDXC port and headphone jack, which are usually incredibly hard to find these days.

Camera

Motorola has equipped the Motorola Moto G34 with a 50MP dual-camera system. The main 50MP camera can take some great photos that have great details, accurate colors, and a higher dynamic range. Even the night mode is perfect, which is great if you have a habit of taking pictures at night.

The Motorola Moto G34 managed to capture some amazing details in the photos taken at night, thanks to this night mode and the optimizations put in by Motorola. The portrait mode pictures are also quite decent and the background blur is natural. At the front of the Motorola Moto G34, there’s a 16MP sensor.

This selfie sensor can capture some great selfies with even skin tones and natural color temperatures. As for video recording, the Motorola Moto G34 can shoot at a maximum of 1080p@30FPS from both the rear and selfie cameras, but there’s no stabilization.

Battery and Others

The Motorola Moto G34 has a huge Li-Po 5000 mAh non-removable battery that can provide a good battery backup that is bound to impress its users. The smartphone can easily last for 2 – 3 days on a single charge. This is obviously with low to medium usage. However, if you play a lot of games, then the battery will drain faster and last less.

But the smartphone supports 18W wired fast charging, which will help you fully charge the smartphone in about an hour. This charger will also come bundled in the box, so you don’t need to purchase it separately. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $144 (Rs 11,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Motorola Moto G34 has some of the most balanced internal components we have ever seen in a smartphone. It also has a decent display but the emphasis was on the internals and they have certainly delivered there. On top of that, the smartphone has 5G connectivity, which is bound to impress many users, especially considering the price tag of the smartphone.

Overall, it’s a very well-balanced smartphone, which should be on your list if you are in the market to buy a new smartphone. However, if you can’t wait for the smartphone to start shipping globally, then you can go for the Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro, which is available at almost the same price tag but offers better specs in some areas. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
