Design and Display
As we discussed before, Honor put a lot of thought when it comes to the design of the Honor Magic 6 Lite. They even experimented with vegan leather materials to enhance the user experience. There are three color options, Sunrise Orange, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green. The Sunrise Orange color features the vegan leather back that we talked about. It feels extremely premium to the touch and also looks elegant. The other two color variants have a glass rear panel.
No matter which color options you go for, they all have a matte finish, which is further complimented by the curved design of the smartphone. Glass variants have a frosted matte finish. On the front, you get the 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz high refresh rate support. This is a display with proper FHD+ resolution and it is color-corrected. Speaking of colors, this is a 10-bit display, so it can display up to 1 billion colors. On top of that, the display gets decently bright at 1200 nits of peak brightness under direct sunlight. Using this smartphone out on a sunny day wouldn’t be an issue.
Memory and Internal
The Honor Magic 6 Lite comes equipped with 4nm Qualcomm SM6450 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G chipset. The chipset can deliver a clock speed of up to 4×2.2GHz, which is mighty impressive for a smartphone of this category. This chipset also supports 5G connectivity for gigabit speed levels, so no compromises there.
This SoC has enough power to run all your everyday apps and games smoothly and efficiently. Speaking of games, this Snapdragon chipset comes included with the Adreno 710 GPU and it can run high-end games like PUBG mobile, CODm, and even Genshin Impact at decent framerates. Its gaming capabilities are quite decent and on par with all other smartphones in the same category. For RAM and storage, the smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. When it comes to the software, the Honor Magic 6 Lite is running on Android 13 OS with a Magic UI 7.2 user interface for better customization support.
Camera
Honor packed the Honor Magic 6 Lite with an exciting camera system. It comes with a 108MP triple-camera system. The 108MP main camera takes amazing pictures with a good amount of detail, great dynamic range, and saturated colors. Pictures with saturated colors tend to look very good on social media, so you are all set there. The smartphone also supports portrait mode and the pictures coming out of it are also decent. The background bokeh is on point and is portrayed accurately.
The night mode is also good and takes good pictures in adequate lighting situations. What’s not good though is the ultra-wide camera. The 5MP sensor is just not enough to capture an accurate ultra-wide shot with good details and also a 2MP macro camera is present. On the front of the Honor Magic 6 Lite, you will find a 16MP sensor that can take decent selfies that are good enough to post on social media. They have plenty of details in them and even support portrait mode. So, you can take selfies with portrait mode activated. As for video recording, the Honor Magic 6 Lite can shoot at a maximum of 4K@30FPS from the rear camera but only 1080p@30FPS from the selfie camera.
Battery and Others
The Honor Magic 6 Lite has a huge Li-Po 5800 mAh non-removable battery, which combined with the efficient chipset allows for 2 days or more days of battery backup with a low to medium usage. However, if you play a lot of games, then the battery will last less, which is nothing to worry about as the smartphone supports 35W wired fast charging.
This 35W charger can fully charge the battery in about an hour and will be bundled inside the box. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The price of the smartphone is $420 (Rs 34,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Honor Magic 6 Lite seems to have all the right specs needed to make a premium smartphone. It has a great design, display, chipset, camera, battery, and everything you could think of. And oh yes, it also has 5G connectivity. A complete premium package in itself. However, it is not a brand-new smartphone. It is a rebrand of the Honor X9b that was released not so long ago. This is not a bad thing. Look at it this way. If Honor Magic 6 Lite fails to launch or you are unable to get it in your region, you can just get the Honor X9b, which is the same.
However, what if Honor smartphones are not available in your region at all? Then we have an alternative smartphone for you. The Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro is the one to go for if Honor smartphones are not your thing. It should be similar in terms of pricing while offering equal or better specs in many ways. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
