Gionee P15 Pro Review
Highlights
- The Gionee P15 Pro features a large 6.82 inches IPS LCD display that adapts to the cinematic.
- The latest Android 11 OS is a great addition to this phone, but there is no custom UI.
- You will feel superiority with the combination of the MediaTek Helio G35 and the PowerVR GE8320 graphics unit.
- The rear panel has a 13 MP main camera that does not meet your expectations.
- The Li-Po 6000 mAh battery can be useful to refresh your mood at any time.
Design and Display
With two colors, Fjord and Petrol Blue give the Gionee P15 Pro phone another beautiful look. It has a large 6.82 inches IPS LCD display that is much larger than today’s standard size. You’ll see everything on a 720 resolution display. The striped design on the metallic back makes the phone more glazed. The fingerprint sensor is available on the backside of the phone. The rear panel has a square shape that takes up little space.
This gives you more space to hold your phone with ease. As it is a little bit heavier which is 208 g, heavier than today’s phones. It is because of the huge battery but you don’t have to worry about grip. The phone has a thickness of 9.5 mm which makes you more comfortable with the phone. On the other hand, since it does not have a high refresh rate, you can feel the motion blur in the videos.
Memory and Internal
The Android 11 is a great add-on that offers superior performance. But, as if there is no user interface, you may experience slightly less customization. Whether you are aware of the power of the 12nm MediaTek Helio G35 chipset or not, as per the price you will definitely find superiority with the chipset. It is also better suited for lite gaming purposes. It processes a 2.3 GHz clock, which is an especially mentionable feature on this phone. Because of the PowerVR GE8320 graphics unit, videos are smoother and clearer.
On the other hand, you may feel limited with storage. It comes with only a combination of 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Still, it is possible to expand storage through a dedicated microSD card slot. Overall, the storage and RAM feature will discourage you because the Samsung Galaxy F12 is offering more than that. Not to forget that the P15 Pro phone comes with 4G bandwidth, you will not be able to enjoy the speed of the next generation.
Camera
If you are looking for a high-end camera phone at an affordable price, stay away. The Gionee P15 Pro smartphone comes with a triple camera board with a 13 MP main camera, does not meet your expectations. Although the main camera displays autofocus mode, it does not provide such a sharp image. Two other secondary cameras that include a 2 MP ultrawide sensor and a 0.1 MP depth sensor are provided just to make it advanced.
But there was no need to add those cameras because you don’t see any reflection with a 0.1 MP depth sensor. On the other hand, the 8 MP selfie camera is standard. You can record 1080p videos up to 30fps from both front and back camera but the camera part lowers the spotlight on the P15 Pro phone.
Battery and Others
If you can exclude the camera part, there are more things to excite you with this phone. You will receive a large Li-Po 6000 mAh battery same as the Gionee Max Pro smartphone that keeps you ahead of the game. This is another feature that can help 8 hours of screen time and 4 days of battery life on basic use. Unfortunately, you will not receive fast chargers which may take 3+ hours to fully charge your phone. The price of the Gionee P15 Pro smartphone starts at $ 147 (Rs 10,790) approx.

Apparently, it is seen that the phone beats the big brands with a big battery, decent processor, and big screen. You may be disappointed with the Gionee P15 Pro camera. The brand didn’t care much about that camera section.
But today, the market is full of the best camera phones. It would be better to add more megapixels from the camera. However, Gionee P15 Pro may be a good choice for people who are looking for a budget phone for general use. You can take a look at the alternative, which is the Samsung Galaxy F12, which has some incredible features on a similar budget.
