Let’s find out the answers to all of these questions in the detailed review of the Vivo iQOO Z7s smartphone.

Vivo iQOO Z7s Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The Vivo iQOO Z7s features a 6.38-inch AMOLED display panel with 90Hz high refresh rate support.
  2. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset capable of reaching up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed.
  3. The phone comes pre-loaded with the latest Android 13 OS and Funtouch 13 user interface.
  4. The main rear camera sensor is a 64MP sensor, and the selfie camera is a 16MP sensor.
  5. The smartphone has a Li-Po 4500 mAh battery with 44W wired fast charging support.

Design and Display

The Vivo iQOO Z7s features a simplistic design and yet it looks so elegant. It’s all thanks to the flat design that looks oh-so-good. The side frame as well as the back panel is completely flat. This makes holding the device a lot more comfortable, which will ensure that the device doesn’t slip out of your hands easily. It comes in two colors Norway Blue and Pacific Night.

It features a plain design on the back and has no pattern or bold outline, which is honestly refreshing to see. Apart from this, the device is quite lightweight as it weighs around 172 grams and has a 7.8mm thin body. The screen is the first thing you see, so the company has equipped the smartphone with a 6.38 inches AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, which looks very good and the texts look sharp.

It’s a good quality panel, which also supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which will ensure that the visual experience and the animations on screen are super smooth. The display can also get adequately bright with 1300 nits peak brightness, which is easily visible even under direct sunlight. On top of that, there’s Schott Xensation Glass protection for the display, which will protect it against scratches and sudden drops. Furthermore, you will also receive IP54 dust and splash-resistant coating on the device.

Memory and Internal

The smartphone is powered by the ever-popular 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. This is a chipset that is quite popular and is featured on many smartphones now. We wish iQOO included an even better chipset, but then it would have made the smartphone a lot more expensive. That’s not to say that the chipset is less powerful. It’s one of the best chipsets in this price range and can easily reach up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed, which means it can easily handle most day-to-day apps.

Also, since the chipset is built on a 6nm manufacturing process, it is very efficient, consumes very little power, and doesn’t overheat. The GPU inside this chipset is the Adreno 619, which can easily play games such as PUBG, CODm, or even Genshin Impact. But don’t expect the chipset to provide crazy high frame rates. It’s not a gaming chipset, but if you have reasonable expectations, it will run the games just fine.

The smartphone is running on the latest Android 13 OS with a Funtouch 13 user interface. The chipset also has a 5G modem, making the smartphone 5G-ready. When it comes to RAM, the phone is available in two RAM variants, 6GB and 8GB RAM, along with 128GB of internal storage. There’s support for a hybrid card slot in case you need to expand storage limits.

Camera

The Vivo iQOO Z7s sports a dual rear camera system with a 64MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary depth camera. The pictures coming out of the main rear camera are actually decent. The pictures have a high dynamic range, proper color correction, and excellent detail level.

However, don’t compare the pictures with flagship smartphones as it would be unfair to do so considering the price difference. It may not be flagship level, but it manages to capture really good pictures with true-to-life colors and great levels. It gets even better at night as it can capture nighttime pictures with a good amount of detail and colors.

The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor, which can take decent selfies with great quality. As for video recording, the phone can only shoot a maximum of 1080P videos at 30FPS from both rear and selfie cameras. Besides this, the only thing missing out on the device is an ultrawide lens and support for gyro-EIS stabilization.

Battery and Others

The Vivo iQOO Z7s smartphone has a Li-Po 4500 mAh battery that can easily power the smartphone for 2 full days with moderate usage. But, if you game a lot or run a lot of heavy apps, such as video editing, then it won’t last that long. However, when you do run out of charge, you can quickly recharge the battery as the smartphone has support for 44W wired fast charging.

The 44W charger can quickly charge your smartphone up to 50% in just 24 mins. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also has an under-display fingerprint scanner to keep your phone secure. The smartphone is available at $230 (Rs 18,990 in India) approx for the base variant.

Conclusion

The Vivo iQOO Z7s is a decent smartphone that seems to have all the right specs that people want in this price bracket. There are other smartphones sporting the same specs, but their camera quality leaves a lot to be desired. The iQOO Z7 smartphone. However, provides all that while providing decent daylight photography.

However, it is slightly behind the original iQOO Z7 Pro, but that comes at a higher price tag. It certainly delivers what iQOO promised and it does so at a price that’s fair considering the current inflation and chip shortage.

If you want an alternative smartphone, then we would recommend the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed smartphone, which arrives with a better set of specs, an ultrawide lens, and a massive battery that surely outperforms this iQOO device. Anyways, the iQOO Z7s is not a bad device, but at a better price point, you will receive a better value on the alternative smartphone, We suggest you check it in your free time.
