Samsung Galaxy A54

Samsung Galaxy F34 Smartphone Review – The Samsung Galaxy F34 was launched in August 2023. The F series of smartphones are exclusive to Flipkart’s platform, so it won’t be available on Amazon or even globally. This Galaxy F34 model is exclusively available only in India. The new Galaxy F34 is also a 5G smartphone, which is growing rapidly in the Indian market. The smartphone arrives with a decent display and massive battery capacity.

So, launching this smartphone in the market makes sense for Samsung. In terms of design, the new Galaxy F34 follows a similar design language as Samsung’s other smartphones. But design is only a part of the equation that makes for a great smartphone experience. Let’s begin with a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy F34 smartphone and find out everything it has to offer and find out whether it is worth buying.

Highlights

  1. The Samsung Galaxy F34 features a 6.5-inches Super AMOLED display with 120Hz high refresh rate support.
  2. The chipset inside the phone is the Samsung Exynos 1280 SoC capable of reaching up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed.
  3. The phone arrives with the latest Android 13OS out-of-the-box with OneUI 5.1 for more customization options.
  4. The main triple rear camera sensor has a 50MP sensor, while the selfie camera has a 13MP sensor.
  5. The phone has a Li-Po 6000mAh battery and supports 25W wired fast charging.

Design and Display

The design of the Samsung Galaxy F34 closely resembles that of Samsung’s A series smartphones that Samsung launched this year. The flat design on both the front and the back, while the sides are slightly curved to provide a better and a comfortable grip. This also means that the smartphone won’t slip out of your easily. The back and the side frame of the smartphone are made out of rigid and durable polycarbonate.

However, we would have certainly appreciated it if Samsung had provided a glass back or something new. Many manufacturers are experimenting with vegan leather these days and customers are loving it. So, something like that would have been great, but it is what it is. However, Samsung decided to protect the display at least with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.

Speaking of the display, there’s a 6.5-inches Super AMOLED display panel that can get as bright as 1000 nits peak brightness, so outdoor visibility won’t be an issue. The display also features Full HD+ resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth user experience. The Samsung Galaxy F34 is made available for purchase in two colors, Electric Black and Mystic Green. The overall display section is decent while the smartphone has a bit thick bezel at the front that feels underwhelming as per the latest designs offered in the market.

Memory and Internal

Samsung equipped the Galaxy F24 with the 5nm Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset, which is built by Samsung themselves, giving them much greater control over the chipset and the software that operates. In terms of pure performance, the Exynos 1280 is comparable to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G chipset, so it has plenty of power and the software does take full advantage of it. Hence, the system is fluid and the animations are super smooth with the 120Hz refresh rate support.

This makes using the smartphone a pleasure, enhancing user experience. It has an octa-core CPU configuration that can reach up to a 2×2.2GHz clocking speed, which is more than enough to power the entire device. The GPU featured in the chipset is the Mali-G68, which can easily handle games like PUBGm, CODm, and Genshin Impact but at medium graphic settings. The Samsung Galaxy F34 also has support for 5G connectivity and runs on the latest Android 13OS with OneUI 5.1, which provides a lot of customization support.

Also, Samsung promises to provide 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates and that will certainly expand the software experience in the long run. For memory and storage, the Samsung Galaxy F34 is available for purchase with 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s support for a microSDXChybrid card slot to expand storage limits.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy F34 has a triple-camera setup, with a 50MP sensor as the main camera, an 8MP sensor as the ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP sensor. The main rear camera produces some great pictures with great detail levels and accurate colors, but it’s nothing out of the world. However, it’s more than decent at this price range. The 8MP ultra-wide camera is capable, but not as good as the main camera. Still, you will receive manageable pictures from the ultrawide camera.

There’s support for portrait mode as well and the pictures shot in this mode tend to have perfect edges around the subject and look quite natural. In terms of night photography, there is a bit of noise under extreme dark conditions. There’s also a selfie camera at the front with a 13MP sensor that can take some decent selfies. When it comes to video recording, the rear camera can shoot videos at 4K@30FPS, while the selfie camera can shoot at a maximum of 1080pvideos@30FPS. The main rear camera also has OIS support, whereas the gyro-EIS support is missing on the smartphone.

Battery and Others

The Samsung Galaxy F34 has a Li-Po 6000 mAh battery, which is a high-capacity battery that will last more than 2 days with lighter usage. But if you take a lot of pictures or play a lot of games, then the battery inside the smartphone may not even last a full day. Gaming and taking a lot of pictures can be heavy on the system resources, which causes the smartphone battery to drain faster.

Eventually, when you do run out of battery, you will be glad to know that Samsung Galaxy F34 supports 25W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the smartphone somewhere around 2  hours. Now, it may not seem that quick but remember that the smartphone has a 6000 mAh high-capacity battery, so even a fast charger may not seem fast enough.

Apart from that, the smartphone has support for dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector for charging. The smartphone is available in India for $229 (Rs 18,990 in India) approx. for the base variant.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy F34 does seem to provide great value by including high-end specs like the AMOLED display, 5Gconnectivity, decent processor, capable camera setup along excellent battery life. If you are a multi-tasker, then the smartphone will be fine for you. If you like watching a lot of movies or TV series, then the smartphone will provide a great experience, thanks to the inclusion of an AMOLED display and a 6000mAh battery.

The AMOLED display will provide a great viewing experience while the high-capacity battery will keep your viewing experience for longer. Even if you are a gamer, the Galaxy F34 should suffice your needs but don’t have high-performance expectations. However, if you are a true photographic enthusiast, you should look elsewhere. Don’t get us wrong. Most Samsung smartphones, even cheaper ones, provide a decent camera performance and so does this smartphone.

But we are pretty sure “decent” is not what you are looking for. Other smartphones within the same price range may provide a better camera experience, such as the OnePlus CE 3 Lite. Anyway, the final decision is up to you and your requirements, so choose accordingly.
