Design and Display
When it comes to the design of the Oppo Reno 7 Lite, the phone features a flat back and flat sides. Although both the back and sides are made out of plastic, its internal structure is very strong and so the phone won’t break or bend easily. The matte finish of the back along with the new Champagne Silver color option looks excellent, especially when the light falls on the back and gets scattered to provide a prism-like colorful look.
Apart from this the phone also comes in another color option, Cosmic Black. As for the display, you get a gorgeous 6.43 inches AMOLED display panel with Full HD+ resolution, but unfortunately, there’s no support for a high refresh rate. The display panel features excellent colors and doesn’t look washed away from any angles. The bezels of the phone are quite narrow, giving the user a very seamless experience. Furthermore, the device has 600 nits HBM brightness support.
Memory and Internal
As for the internals, the Oppo Reno 7 Lite is powered by the 6nm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. This 5G chipset can reach up to a max of 2x 2.2GHz clocking speed. With this configuration, the chipset promises to provide improved computing and graphical performance compared to the other phones in the same price budget. The new Adreno 619 GPU in this chipset is also quite powerful and can run games such as BGMI and COD mobile. The chipset is very efficient and doesn’t overheat.
Unfortunately, the phone comes in only a single 8GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage variant, and if you plan to upgrade the storage later, there’s support for a microSD slot as well. Also, the phone runs on Android 11 OS with ColorOS 12 UI and the lack of the latest Android 12 OS in a phone in 2022 will surely disappoint a lot of people, especially since Android 13 is already in beta and will be launched in a couple of months.
Camera
The phone has a triple-camera setup, with a 64MP main camera, and two 2MP macro and depth sensors. The pictures from the main camera are quite amazing with good enough detail and great dynamic range. The highlights and details in the shadows are also properly captured from the phone. The portrait mode pictures are also equally great. The background bokeh is very natural and the edges around the human subject, especially near the hair area blends in perfectly with the background blur.
Pictures taken during the night are quite decent if there’s enough light in the background. When lighting gets really dark, images also suffer equally and there will a considerable drop in colors and detail levels. Also, the 16MP wide lens is not bad at all.
It can take decent selfies and the picture quality is good enough to post on social media without the need to apply filters. When it comes to video recording, both the camera can record only 1080p videos at 30fps and unfortunately, don’t have EIS support as well and so the video footage can be quite shaky, especially if you walk while shooting.
Battery and Others
The new Oppo Reno 7 Lite has a Li-Po 4500mAh battery which can last up to 4+ hours on moderate usage. For charging, you get the 33W fast-charger which promises to charge the battery to 31% in just 15 minutes and a full 100% in just 63 minutes.
The phone also has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The smartphone is expected to arrive at $320 (Rs 24,450 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The phone is quite nice, especially if you consider the new Snapdragon 695 5G Chipset with 5G connectivity, AMOLED display, and a very compact design. The phone seems to have all the right features until you look at the price and camera specs which are not justified for the internal specifications the phone provides.
At this price range, you have quite a bit of alternative smartphones which provide better specifications at the same price. For example, the new Oneplus Ace smartphone is an excellent option however the final decision is up to you.
