MediaTek Dimensity 1000C octa-core SoC announced with dual display, 120 Hz and 5G connectivity support
New MediaTek Dimensity 1000C processor announced – In the company’s 5G chipset portfolio, the newest entry being revealed is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000C mobile SoC. According to the company, advanced AI features enhanced display capabilities and premium 5G experiences are provided by this new SoC.
In addition, it was also announced by MediaTek that the LG Velvet smartphone is the first smartphone equipped with a MediaTek processor with 5G support in the USA will mark its availability on T-Mobile’s 5G network. As of September 10, it will be available in the United States and a monthly payment installment option will be offered by T-Mobile.

Clocked up to 2GHz speed and the five-core Mali-G57 GPU handles graphics, the four Cortex-A55 cores with low power consumption and Cortex-A77 cores are featured in this octa-core Dimensity 1000C SoC. Up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM clocked at 1,866 MHz and USF 2.2 storage are supported by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000C. In terms of camera support, up to a single 64-megapixel sensor or a configuration of up to 32 megapixels + 16 megapixels can be handled by the Dimensity 1000C. In addition, for this SoC 3,840×2,160 pixels is the maximum capture resolution.
When it comes to connectivity, integrated 5G network support is available on the Dimensity 1000C with Mixed Duplex 5G-CA. Perfect transfer between Dual SIM 5G connections is allowed. TDD + FDD, TDD + TDD and FDD + FDD are supported here within North American operators. In addition, support 4G, Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), 4×4 MIMO, and Bluetooth v5.1 are also provided.
AV1 video hardware decoding with YouTube and Netflix for better playback at higher resolutions is supported by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000C, along with battery power efficiency. A dual-screen display for flip or fold phones, or a single display phone with a 120Hz refresh rate and resolution up to Full-HD+ can also be controlled by the same. In addition, several trigger words to wake up virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa assistant can be heard.
This Dimensity 1000C SoC will power the T-Mobile LG Velvet and it was revealed by T-Mobile that the sale of the phone should start in the United States from September 10 at the expected priced at $588 (43,000 INR).
