Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro Review, Pros and Cons

Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro Review, Pros and Cons – Xiaomi is a big brand in India and it looks like it finally decided to launch its premium smartphone in India. As in the previous year, the updated version of the Mi 11 which we already covered in our review. The company launched the Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro smartphones as an affordable mid-range device.

Both models can be considered a renamed version of the Redmi K40 series, exclusive to China. On the same note, the Poco F3 presents itself in the global market with the same specifications. Anyway, today’s review consists of two premium mid-ranger phones called the Xiaomi Mi 11x and Xiaomi Mi 11x Pro models, especially for Indian users. So, without further ado, let’s start the detailed review and find out if these smartphones are worth your money or not.

Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro Review

Highlight

  1. The Xiaomi Mi 11x series comes with a fabulous Super AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz with elegant color rendering.
  2. Next, the impressive main camera appears on the 108MP for Mi 11X Pro and 48MP for Mi 11X.
  3. The performance aspect of both smartphones is broad and top-notch in all standards.
  4. The software section also lives up to its name, as you will have an equal share of resources and features.
  5. In the battery department, the company launched a Li-Po 4520 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

Design and Design

Nothing exciting in the design section, as the company abandoned all previous designs, and the Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro smartphones gained gorilla glass 5 front and back instead of a metallic one. While it is a matter of preference, there are pros and cons to the glass body.

On the other hand, Celestial Silver, Lunar White, and Cosmic Black are the colors available in the market. If you want a premium and stylish phone, go for the cosmic black or lunar white would be the classic choice, but celestial silver is a bit sophisticated. They all look quite impressive and professional, so in terms of looks, there is no such problem. In addition, the 20:9 ratio body ensures that you hold the phone comfortably.

As for security, the fingerprint arrives at the side with face unlock, although the Xiaomi Mi 11x and Mi 11x Pro phones have a 6.67 inches Super AMOLED display. The added strength of the 120Hz advanced refresh rate and the combination of HDR10+ is the real blessing for navigation and content viewing experience. In addition, phones also lead the way in providing Corning glass 5 protection and better brightness.

Memory and Internal

Going to the performance section, the Xiaomi Mi 11x smartphone was integrated with the 7nm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset, the second-best chipset of this year. The octa-core processor can give you up to 1x 3.2 GHz speed and supported by Adreno 650 graphics.

While the Xiaomi Mi 11x Pro smartphone equips the 5nm Snapdragon 888 5G chips, the best chipset you can get on any phone. It is compatible with the Adreno 660 graphics card and can provide processing speeds of up to 1x 2.84 GHz. Both models use processing and optimize the software to bring the most complete customization experience.

Now that I’ve talked about personalization, the company combines Android 11 OS with MIUI 12 user interface. Although you get tons of options, filters, and features from MIUI the fact cannot be overlooked that there is bloatware too.

Anyway, there is no secondary storage, so you only need to use the internal space to store your videos, photos, files, movies, etc. The Xiaomi Mi 11x starts with 6 GB and 8 GB RAM with 128 GB UFS 3.1 storage, while on the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 11x Pro smartphone gives the option to choose from 128 GB and 256 GB of space with 8 GB of RAM.

Camera

The camera section is something where the Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro smartphones are missing, even though they have a decent set of lenses, they were not able to fit the standard they are presenting. There is no problem with taking photos at ground level, you will get fabulous features when taking low light, but in terms of appearance, but the camera technology lacks in several ways.

For example, you will notice grains and less saturation compared to the conclusion. In this range, you will get few successful smartphones in each section. Although, the same thing does not apply to the Mi 11x and 11x Pro phones. Speaking of the main sensor, the 108MP lens on the Xiaomi Mi 11x Pro shows brightness in all the photos, while the 48MP lens on the Mi 11x lens is missing brightness, but it is still acceptable.

In the secondary camera, units are the same for both the Mi 11x and 11x Pro phones, the 8 MP ultrawide camera lens does a fabulous job of bringing the cutting edge quality of the dynamic range, while the 5 MP macro lens helps to take close-up photos. As a matter of video recording on the Xiaomi Mi 11x, you can capture 4K videos with gyro-EIS stabilization except, optical zoom is missing.

The Xiaomi Mi 11x Pro has more impressive features and settings since it obtained the Snapdragon 888 chip. The video recording graphic can produce extraordinary 8K results with gyro-EIS. In addition, the influence of the AI software ensures that each photo taken has cutting-edge quality.

But for some reason, selfie cameras on both Mi 11x and 11x Pro phones produce the same result with 20MP front cameras and can record up to 1080p resolution.

Battery and Others

There is a 10% reduction compared to the battery of the previous generation phone, but both the Xioami Mi 11x and the 11x Pro smartphones accumulate a battery of Li-Po 4,520 mAh, on average can provide up to 7 hours of screentime. Even if you’re using the 120 Hz refresh rate at full throttle to watch video content or play games. In addition, the 33W fast charging takes just an hour to fill the battery, while during the process, the phone becomes moderately warm.

The price range of the Xioami Mi 11x is $400 (Rs 29,999) approx and as for the Mi 11x Pro variant, the price $550 (Rs 39,999) approx because you are getting a better chipset and more amazing camera modules. But, the price is a bit exaggerated compared to the general specifications and price factor of the Mi 11x Pro.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi 11x and 11x Pro smartphones have a handful of unique and interesting features, from battery saving to performance enhancement. In addition, the performance of both models is state of the art, but it is clear that the company cut some corners in the camera and battery section to keep the price as minimal as possible. However, they are the performance beast, for sure.

This device is a little difficult to recommend if you are looking for a complete smartphone in terms of competition. The Xiaomi Mi 11x devices are more similar to the recent Asus Zenfone 8 launch with similar features. On the other hand, One Plus 9 Pro sets a higher score in all sections, so you can consider it as an alternative option.
