Xiaomi Redmi 10C

Xiaomi Redmi 10C Review – The Redmi 10C is a pretty decent budget-centric phone that arrives with a subtle amount of specs and features. You won’t be disappointed by the overall aspect of this phone. Xiaomi entry-level phone sometimes works great, and the Redmi 10C is an impressive example of that. The phone was released in March 2022 with a bang in the market.

However, there’s no hype for this phone, but still, we got our hands on the phone, and we have run some tests to check whether this phone is worth buying option in 2022. For the off-screen record, we are quite surprised by all of those attributes. So, without wasting time, let’s head toward the in-depth review of the Xiaomi Redmi 10C smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 10C Review

Highlights

  1. The phone arrives with a pretty standard yet decent 6.71 inches IPS LCD that renders an HD resolution display.
  2. As for the software end, you are getting the android 11 with the MIUI 13 skin on top.
  3. In terms of the hardware section, you will attain the snapdragon 680 chipset that works great in multitasking.
  4. The camera board offers a 50MP dual camera setup with a 5MP selfie support.
  5. As far as the battery life is concerned, a 5000 Li-Po mAh battery acquires an 18W fast charging support.

Design and Display

The Redmi 10C obtain a sleek design layout on the plastic body, while the camera board is something noteworthy about talking. The camera appears to have a big squircle layout with the Redmi branding and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. With that square layout, it gives the phone an aesthetic appearance.

But if you look at the previous-gen phones, you won’t find too much difference in the build quality as the smartphone makers have used the same material. Anyway, speaking of the dimension of this phone, you will get a tall screen device with an 8.3-inches thickness and the weight level goes up to 190 grams. But sadly the Redmi 10C is lacking protection layering over the body.

However, what you can expect from the entry-level phone. Still, the device tries its best and renders the 6.71 inches IPS LCD with HD resolution. With this combo, you won’t face any problems in daily usage as the screen has colors and contrast combinations. Despite this, you won’t get a smooth experience as the phone is lacking fast refresh rate support.

Memory and Internal

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi 10C is powered by the 6nm Snapdragon 680 chipset that grants decent processing speed for a normal user. The processing power can reach up to 4x 2.4GHz cloaking speed, which is more than sufficient compared to the same price range phone. Although, the visual effect might lead down the whole experience. But the Adreno 610 GPU tries its best to provide better results.

With this combination, you won’t face any issues while playing high-end games, but it’s not possible to play games like BGIM, PUBG, Call of Duty, etc, at the highest resolution settings. On the other hand, the heating issue can also appear during the long gaming session. Hopefully, you will receive the MIUI 13 interface that clubs with the Android 11 OS.

The interface offers several customization options from which you can design the home screen with different launchers, themes, and wallpapers. On the other hand, the company also provides robust storage specs from 64GB to 128GB internal space with dedicated 4GB RAM support. It also grants UFS 2.2 memory support and a dedicated secondary storage unit in the SIM tray.

Camera

Redmi camera tech is appropriate according to its price range as you are getting a decent dual camera setup. It includes the 50MP primary lens that captures immersive photos in proper daylights, while the low light aspect is slightly behind the trend. As for the secondary camera, it also offers a 2MP depth lens to increase the core quality of the portrait shots.

However, it doesn’t mean you will attain fine details. There is a handful of times where we have seen that image processing quality is hit or miss. But still, we have some hopes for a 5MP selfie camera. However, it miserably disappoints even in the normal daylight situation, while the other modes are not even worth talking about.

Despite that, the company does improve the videography aspect of the Redmi 10C as the users can effortlessly use the 1080p video recording features and capture their live moments without any issue. Aside from this, the native camera app has various features, filters, and modes to click decent photos and videos.

Battery and Others

Under the hood, the Redmi 10C equips a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery that can level up the screen time to some extent. You will easily attain more than 5+ hours of screen time to watch your favorite content. As for the charging speed, inside the box, you will receive an 18W charge that takes less than an hour and a half to refuel the battery. It’s a pleasant experience with a long-lasting battery, and it stays awake for more than two days without charge.

In terms of the additional features, the phone doesn’t have anything that stands out from the rest of the competition. However, there’s no denying that the sensors and comms look pretty impressive and top-notch. However, the NFC support is dependent on the market, while the audio output is average. Now, let’s talk about the price point, the Xiaomi Redmi 10C starting cost is roughly $199 (Rs 14,990 in India) approx.

Conclusion

Usually, a budget phone can be described in two ways either it will have value-packed options or it could be something that just doesn’t need to launch in the first place. Hopefully, the Redmi 10C falls in the first case. Long short story, this phone has a great value for money feature, despite its downside and flaws.

On the other hand, if you look at the flaws such as camera quality, resolution, and low charging speed. You will notice it’s a common trait in the budget segment phones. So, there’s no issue with that, but if you are looking for a better option you should check out the Realme 9 5g smartphone because it comes with a better display, camera, chipset, and 5G support.
