Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus

Xiaomi 11i Review – Xiaomi has recently launched a few mid-range smartphones, one of them being the Xiaomi 11i smartphone. It was released globally in January 2022 and targets to cover your 5G needs. The phone offers lots of advanced specs, so there’s nothing to worry about it. Apart from this, the device also brings an impressive design.

The Xiaomi 11i is the upgraded version of the old Mi 11i but it looks similar to the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharger. The key attraction of this phone is the display, camera, and battery. But not every smartphone is perfect and it has its pros and cons, which you can understand here. With that said, let’s head toward the in-depth review of the Xiaomi 11i smartphone.

Xiaomi 11i Review

Highlights

  1. The Xiaomi 11i 5G comes with a 6.67-inches AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
  2. The smartphone is backed by a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset under the hood.
  3. While for the software, it fetches Android 11 software layering with MIUI 12.5 E UI.
  4. The phone channels a triple rear camera having a 108 MP primary lens and a selfie camera of 16 MP.
  5. Xiaomi 11i brings comes with a 5160 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Design and Display

The first look of the Xiaomi 11i brings out a straightforward boxy design, which feels grippy in the hands. The front appears with slim bezels, while the glass back has a frosted matte finish & protruding camera bump. You won’t find fingerprint smudges, but the phone wobbles on a flat surface. Xiaomi 11i owns IP53 dust & splash resistance along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front, and this is a satisfactory provision. However, the device weighs 207 grams and is heavy to hold all day long.

On the other hand, the 6.67-inches AMOLED screen delivers a 120Hz refresh rate, resulting in super-smooth scrolling with excellent viewing angles. With Xiaomi 11i, one can enjoy content seamlessly, even outdoors, as you get up to 1200 nits peak brightness. Overall the build & display quality is a thumbs up. Moreover, it is available in tempting color options- Camo Green, Stealth Black, Purple Mist, and Pacific Pearl. You may choose according to your preference as all these shades are elegant and attractive.

Memory and Internal

This Xiaomi phone is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset that can reach up to 2.5GHz clocking speed. The phone gives good all-around gaming & performance but is not outstanding. Also, there are not many heating issues while multi-tasking or browsing. Aside from this, you will also obtain the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU that boosts the overall graphic aspect.

MIUI 12.5E user interface based on Android 11 OS forms the software layering, which is better than previous versions but can be improved. However, the software is well optimized with no lags or slowdown. On top of that, you will also get decent battery endurance since everything is optimized properly, whether it’s gaming or simply social media scrolling.

Additionally, Users will attain different variants from 6GB to 8GB RAM coupled with 128GB/256GB internal storage accompanied by a hybrid SDcard slot. Of course, the UFS 2.2 memory unit will increase the performance too. In total, there are three variants from which you can choose anyone according to daily usage requirements and budget.

Camera

Considering the camera, it looks impressive on paper as it features a triple rear camera with 108MP primary followed by an 8MP ultra-wide & 2MP macro lens. In contrast, it provides average results with over-sharpen images. Likewise, the Portraits come out as average with over-sharpen subjects. As for the front, you will get a 16MP selfie camera onboard.

Except that colors & dynamic range were still decent. Besides, night mode is again okay, and Selfies are also not remarkable still on point, just like other recent Xiaomi phones. Therefore, you won’t feel underwhelming compared to the competition. So, overall photography experience feels average.

Coming to the videos, the rear camera can shoot 4K videos at @30fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p at 30fps. The video footage will come out shaky, yet it is manageable. Therefore, Xiaomi needs to optimize the camera, and it can be expected to improve in future updates. However, if you are looking for a better videography experience, you might get disappointed a little bit. Overall, the camera section is good according to mid-range standards, without neat picking some points.

Battery and Others

The most incredible element of the phone is its battery and charging combo. The Li-Po 5160 mAh battery supplies 7 hours of screen time, whereas the 67W fast charger may charge 50% in only 15 minutes. Hence, the battery is appropriate under this segment; that is enough for surfing, binge-watching, or working throughout the day.

As for the other features, the Xiaomi 11i brings a balanced audio experience with stereo speakers alongside decent-level comms and sensors. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is prompt & reliable. Now, let’s come to the price point. Xiaomi 11i’s base variant is launched at $320 (Rs. 24,500 in India) approx, while other variants are available at higher prices. Accordingly, the smartphone is a bit pricey. It looks like the company is pushing the price boundaries.

Conclusion

Xiaomi 11i is a good deal if you can compromise a little with the camera because the display, performance & battery are decent. However, some users may expect an exceptional camera for the same price. Apart from this, you can use 5G on both slots if 5G technology is available in your country. Overall the Xiaomi 11i is a decent smartphone and you can play high-end games without any problem.

Compared to the specs, the price of the phone seems a little high and it’s a copy of the 11i HyperCharger with a slower charging speed. Either way, be sure to compare all other options before making the final decision. If you are looking for an alternative option, you can definitely check out the Realme 9 Pro Plus smartphone.
