Meta confirms paid verification services now live in the US
Inspired by Twitter's paid verification service, Meta launched similar services in Australia and New Zealand followed by the US starting today.
Meta charges $11.99 per month for web users and $14.99 for the users signing up in the mobile app.
The paid verification service along with a verification badge gets you "proactive impersonation protection" and direct access to customer support.
The paid verification service gives you access to exclusive stickers and 100 Stars per month to show support for other creators on Facebook.
The paid verification service user needs to be an adult surpassing the legal age limit of 18 years and is required to complete photo ID verification.
The paid verification user must have two-factor authentication enabled in their accounts to access the services provided with the subscription bundle.
The Meta verified user in order to change profile name, photo, username, or DOB has to go through the verification process from scratch.
To use the paid verification service by Meta in the US, head on to the settings of Instagram or Facebook and add the payment method and you are done.
The users will be able to see "Meta Verified available" under their name and profile picture from the Accounts center.
The legacy verified account holders won't have to pay for the services until Meta gets rid of the 'legacy' verification badge.
