BharOS new mobile operating system developed in India

As announced by IIT Madras, BharOS is a new mobile operating system focused on privacy and security.

BharOS has been developed by a not-for-profit organization established by IIT Madras named JandK Operations Private Limited.

A clean and highly secure mobile operating system developed in India with independence and security as its core.

BharOS has no bloatware and does allow users to carefully choose only the apps they need and trust.

BharOS comes with its own privacy-focused app store service called PASS, while BharOS is a clean fork of the Android Open Source Project.

PASS is loaded with hand-picked apps verified to comply with the project's privacy and security norms.

BharOS targets precisely the businesses and organizations with a specific need for security and sensitive information.

Although it is not clear which BharOS core is based on which version of Android, it is a great step under Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Alongside this, the BharOS is sure to get its own native Over-the-air updates very soon.

In the words of Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, BharOS is built on the foundation of trust, with a focus on providing users more flexibility and control over their privacy.
