Vivo Y76s

Vivo Y76 Review – Vivo majorly release its smartphone in mainland China, and the company unveils Vivo Y76 5G not too long ago. Like most Vivo phones, this phone also has a great design layout with a minimalistic texture. The same quality is seen in the Vivo Y76s, which equips almost similar specs and software.

However, the Vivo Y76 smartphone is currently feasible in mainland China. But, there’s a slight chance that the company will release this phone with a rebranded name in the other market. Though, the phone was also released in Malaysia. Considering this fact, the Vivo Y76 target users looking for an affordable yet powerful 5G handset since got some decent features to cope with the competition. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Vivo Y76 smartphone.

Vivo Y76 Review

Highlights

  1. The phone delivers a simple 6.58-inches IPS LCD panel with a sleek design layout.
  2. Under the hood, Vivo Y76 equips the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G, whose processing power reaches up to 2.2 GHz clocking speed.
  3. The software layering of the Funtouch 12 UI grants robust customization features with the Android 11 firmware.
  4. The camera department brings a triple camera setup that houses a 50MP primary shooter with a 2MP macro, 2MP depth, and 16MP selfie.
  5. The phone also arrives with a relatively Decent Li-Po 4800 mAh battery powered by a 44W fast charger.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y76 smartphone design review is similar to the Vivo Y74s 5G, and the common theme of rectangular board is seen in both phones. In the recent Vivo phones, that camera module pattern is shining everywhere. Besides this, Vivo is known for its sleek design layout, and the same story applies to the Y76s. There are colors options such as Cosmic Aurora and Midnight Space shades. Each of them equips a different aura, and if you are looking for a professional phone, you can check out the cosmic aurora variant.

On the other hand, if you are searching for a classic color, you can also go with the Aurora variant. Like most Vivo devices, you will also see the slim built quality, while the phone thickness is merely 7.8mm, which gradually decreases the weight to 175 grams. In short, you will get a lightweight experience from this phone. Apart from this, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner is an additional security feature.

The waterdrop notch display didn’t have that many thick bezels, and you will obtain a 6.58 inches IPS LCD. So, the colors and contrast would be average, but you will get the default 460 nits brightness, default 60Hz refresh rate, and average pixel density. Yet, the phone didn’t have features like gorilla glass protection or HDR content support. Overall, the screen experience is moderate.

Memory and Internal

The smartphone’s processing power is the backbone since everything handles through the chipset and every component relies on it. In Vivo Y76, the hardware portion is powered by the 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset. With this chipset, the phone can reach up to 2.2 GHz clocking speed at the ideal situation. Moreover, the visual rendering that arrives from the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU is also excellent.

With this combo, you won’t get any problem in multitasking, even the internal storage and RAM capacity looks sufficient as you are getting an 8GB RAM accompanied by the 128GB internal space. Alongside this, you will also gain a hybrid secondary storage unit in the SIM tray. Apart from the storage room, the 5G connectivity is superb as you will get super-fast internet connectivity.

The software experience on the Vivo Y76 comes with a mixed opinion since everything manages through the Funtouch 12 UI support. You will receive numerous customization options such as wallpaper, widget, gesture, and many more things on top of the Android 11 skin. Although, you will notice bloatware in the interface that might disturb the UI experience. However, if you have used the Vivo phone, you might be immune to that.

Camera

The Vivo Y76 has a similar camera board as the Vivo Y55s, and both render an excellent photography experience. The camera section’s dynamic range effect looks underwhelming since the phone didn’t offer additional lenses. All you are getting is the 50MP primary shooter with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens in the name of the triple-camera support. At the same time, the 16MP selfie camera is present on the front screen.

As far as image processing is concerned, the Vivo Y76 smartphone provides the average result. You will receive decent photos with proper lighting starting with the daylight photos. However, the same thing can’t be said for the night mode as the AI software sometimes fails to get the image exposure. Hopefully, the HDR support gives crispness to the photos. In comparison, there are options like panorama, portrait mode, professional mode, etc.

With this setup, you can take your life moment photos without any issue. Alongside this, the photo’s color saturation level blends equally to the skin tone, thanks to the dedicated AI software support. Last but not least, let’s talk about the videography section. In vivo Y76, you are getting a 1080p video recording choice with stabilization software support. So, expecting something astounding would be great, though 4K recording is not possible.

Battery and Others

The Vivo Y76 might not stand out that much in the battery department as it provides a Li-Po 4100 mAh battery. Even though it looks insufficient, it’s one of the reasons you are getting a slim, lightweight phone. In simultaneous usage, the battery endurance will be around 4 hours, which is quite inadequate from the standard. But still, the 44W fast charging gives a slight advantage since the phone will be 70% in less than half an hour.

Apart from the battery features and functions, let’s view the other factor about the Vivo Y76. Aside from the primary features and specs, this phone didn’t have any special features that made it stand out from the competition. Still, fast charging can give a competitive edge. But the remaining comms and sensor characteristics are also available in other phones. In terms of the price point, the Vivo Y76 arrive at $315 (Rs 23,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

The Vivo Y76 smartphone is yet another rebrand phone that Vivo is trying to attract user attentioin. However, the processing speed and cloaking speed of the Vivo Y76 is decent so that you won’t face any problem during your day-to-day usage. However, if you want extreme gameplay, the battery doesn’t allow that. As far as the camera is concerned, you will get better options in the same price range.

Long story in short, if you are looking for something exceptional, waiting for the upcoming Redmi Note 11 series is a great decision as those phones will bring value to add features and quite a decent price range. However, if you are looking for similar features and 5G connectivity, the Motorola G51 can prove a better alternative option to the Vivo Y76 5G smartphone. But, the final decision is yours, so wisely choose what you want from the smartphone according to your budget and need.
