Vivo iQOO Neo 7

Vivo iQOO Neo 7 Smartphone Review – The iQOO brand smartphone brings performance and value combinations so that the users can expect flagship-level performance at a relatively less price. There’s no doubt that last year’s iQOO 7 series was wonderful and amazing, as it brought robust hardware and software combinations. Recently, the company also launched a flagship killer phone known as the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 smartphone.

The phone is unveiled in October 2022 on the mainland Chinese smartphone market. But at the same time, it’s not confirmed when the company will release this handset for the global market. The iQOO brand as whole targets users who are looking for immersive performance, but, from time to time, it falls behind in some aspects, such as camera and battery. Let’s head toward the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 review to find out more details about this phone.

Vivo iQOO Neo 7 Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The iQOO Neo 7 arrives with a 6.78-inches AMOLED 120Hz refresh rate panel with a decent viewing experience.
  2. As for the software end, the newest Android 13 based on the Origin OS Ocean comes out to the box.
  3. The hardware handles the performance with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset.
  4. In terms of the camera setup, you are getting a standard 50MP triple camera model with a 16MP selfie lens.
  5. Last but not least, the Li-Po 5000 mAh battery is powered by a 120W fast charging block.

Design and Display

The company doesn’t change the overall design layout from the previous Vivo iQOO Neo 6 smartphones, except for the futuristic camera module that stands out the most. The square-shaped camera island looks pretty amazing on the phone. At the same time, the company provides three impressive shade options from which the users can choose the best option to their liking.

The Orange and Blue colors got a leather finish that grants a premium feel in the hands, it weighs around 197 grams. Whereas the Black color variant looks pretty classic with the glossy finish design that looks a bit of shade of dark blue in the reflection, and due to the different material, it weighs around 202 grams. Apart from the weight, everything is similar in those three color variants.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED panel comes with lively color and contrast that will make the content streaming experience great, while you are getting HDR 10+ support. Furthermore, the 120Hz refresh rate improves the touch responses of the screen, and 1500 nits brightness ensures that you don’t face any issues while using this phone outdoors.

Memory and Internal

The processing power of the 4nm Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ chipset can go up to 1×3.2GHz cloaking speed, which is considerably high. With that much power, you won’t face much trouble playing advanced games. Besides this, the company also added a Pro+ chipset under the hood that will boost gaming performance to the next level. Plus, the graphic unit further enhances the visual aspect.

The new Android 13 interface based on the Origin OS Ocean brings lots of fascinating features that will assist the users to customize the interface according to their needs. Furthermore, the 5G connectivity will provide a seamlessly smooth internet connection, while the company also added a cooling layer on this phone to avoid overheating issues.

Moreover, the touch refresh rate can go up to 360Hz, which is pretty good for gameplay, and you can do tons of other exciting things. The iQOO Neo 7 arrives with 128GB, 256GB, to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal space with options to choose between 8GB to 12GB RAM. Although, we don’t find an additional SD card slot on the SIM tray.

Camera

The Vivo iQOO Neo 7 smartphone is offering a triple camera module, but when you see the camera module, you will notice only two lenses. The third lens is hidden near the flash. With a primary 50MP sensor, the daylight photos are looking stunning as you will obtain fine detail with immersive colors and contrast in each of the shots. As for the lowlight, the night mode handles noise and colors easily.

On the other hand, the 8MP ultra-wide lens gives proper dynamic range with a bit of exposure. Although, the color gradients look average compared to the primary sensor. Alongside this, you will also receive a 2MP macro lens to improve depth perception and close-up shots. It will assist you in taking photos in any situation without any hassle. Furthermore, the company also added a punch hole notch 16MP selfie lens.

In terms of video recording, the phone can easily go up to 4K resolution, while the native camera app provides different modes to tweak the video quality. Although, sometimes the result might not be satisfying due to standard video stabilization support. But still, it’s a good thing to notice that the selfie sensor can record up to 1080p videos.

Battery and Others

The battery section is most of the time a deal breaker for many users. In the case of the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 smartphone, you will receive a massive Li-Po 5000 mAh battery configuration under the hood. With this, you don’t have to worry about running out of screen time and can freely stream content without any hassle. Besides that, playing long gaming sessions for more than hours even then some battery percentage will be left.

On the other hand, the smartphone makers are providing a 120W fast charger inside the box with a cable bundle. Generally, the phone will need less than 10 minutes to refuel the battery to 50%. Whereas only 25 minutes are required to completely fuel the phone. Aside from this, the sound output is crisp and loud. Lastly, the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 smartphone is priced at around $379 (Rs. 30,890 in India) approx for the starting variant, which is a well-defined deal as a flagship killer phone.

Conclusion

Not every phone could be perfect and there are some factors where the iQOO Neo 7 messed up. You will obtain good camera results, but the video recording is just average. However, all of the aspects of this phone are quite good, and an impressive deal. But sadly, at the time we are reviewing, the Neo 7 is exclusive to China. If the company launched this phone in another country, we will update that.

On the other hand, if you want to go full-fledged gaming-centric phone, we would recommend you go with the Asus ROG Phone 6 for now. Though, you might have to increase your budget to some extent. If your budget is tight and you are looking for an alternative phone in the same price range, definitely check out the Xiaomi Redmi K50 Ultra smartphone. But if you are looking for casual gaming with splendid performance and a bit of tweaking of camera features, you should definitely check out the iQOO Neo 7 smartphone.
