Without further ado, let’s start with the highlights, and then start the detailed review of the Ulefone Power Armor 14 smartphone.

Ulefone Power Armor 14 Review

Highlights

  1. First of all, this is not a thin phone. Its thickness is about 17.2 mm and the weight is about 358 grams. It definitely has a 6.52-inch high IPS LCD display.
  2. This phone comes with a 12nm chipset of the MediaTek Helio G35 variant. In addition, it has a 2.3GHz Octa-Core processor and a PowerVR GE8320 graphics card.
  3. In terms of OS, the phone is powered by the latest Android 11 OS. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, and a shared microSD slot.
  4. The phone has a triple camera – the main camera is a 20MP and 16MP selfie camera.
  5. Power Armor 14 comes with a powerful 10000mAh battery, along with a 15W wireless charging. As well as a fast wireless charging facility at an 18W conversion rate.

Design and Display

As mentioned the phone is heavy, weighs 358.2 grams due to the large battery and the phone’s thickness is 17.2 mm. Such a heavy phone is quite outdated for many people, the weight can cause pain in the hand when holding it for a long time.

The phone only offers one option in terms of color, namely black. In fact, the color is very professional. The body of this smartphone is waterproof and dustproof with IP68 certification. The phone can remain undamaged underwater (up to 105 meters) for half an hour.

The phone can also remain uninterrupted if dropped from a height of five feet onto a concrete floor. The device is compatible with MIL-STD-810G. That means it can withstand heat, cold, shock, vibration, gunshot shock, moisture, and more. This phone is perfect for industrial workers, who work with heavy equipment or also in the marine environment.

Along with this, the phone supports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on its large 6.52 inches screen. The screen resolution of this phone is 720p. The HD plus screen is still glossy with pretty decent viewing angles, but let’s face it, a 720p screen at the end of 2021 is just an impediment. You will face problems with sunlight on the screen outdoors due to the absence of high brightness setting.

Memory and Internal

The Ulefone Power Armor 14 smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as well as offers a shared micro SD card slot that can be expanded up to 1TB. However, it doesn’t have any other RAM or ROM variant, so you left only one option. Hope the micro SD card can meet your storage requirements. But you will be left with only one SIM card slot.

The phone is based on Android 11 OS, although the OS software is the latest, it doesn’t offer any custom software like Fountouch or ColorOS. For performance metrics, it depends on the 12nm MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The phone offers a 12-nanometer chipset, along with HD graphics from the PowerVR GE8320. It’s definitely not faster and you won’t be able to enjoy the game smoothly. The 4GB of RAM is not so good for high graphics games, but yes, you can multitask at a 4x 2.3 GHz speed.

Camera

Now come to the camera department, there is a rectangular array of triple cameras. The Ulefone Power Armor 14 smartphone includes a 20MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor with a LED flash on the rear. On the front, the phone has a 16MP selfie camera. If there is adequate light, you can capture good photos with the front camera. However, with this 16 MP camera, you can have a good zoom experience.

The rear camera isn’t very good either, but you’ll capture decent photos and videos with the 20MP camera aided by 2MP depth and macro sensors. However, at night, you will experience blurry images and videos with these cameras. But the good thing is because it’s water-resistant, you can capture underwater photos. It also has an AI scene recognition, which will intelligently identify various scenes and adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. automatically to help you effortlessly take photos that have great stories.

Let’s switch to video quality. Both the front and rear cameras can capture videos at a rate of 30fps and with a resolution of 1080 pixels. Both cameras support HDR so you can get decent video quality. Unfortunately, there is no support for 4K and the presence of the gyro-EIS sensor, which helps to make your videos stable.

Battery and Others

The battery is the most lucrative resource for Ulefone Power Armor 14 phone. It offers a huge 10,000 mAh battery, literally, it’s a powerful beast to keep you free from charge anxiety for almost 5 to 6 days and nights for general use. In terms of charging ease, it supports 18W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging which are ready to give your battery a quick boost.

Also, this phone supports NFC which helps you pay bills and open the door of public transport technology with one swipe. It supports face unlock, fingerprint identification, and quad positioning systems that provide accurate navigation, FM radio without headset solves headset issues, Dual 4G VoLTE provides stable 4G network and allows HD video calling. Finally, in terms of price, this phone is readily available at stores and e-commerce websites for $179 (Rs 13,999) approx.
