Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Review, Pros and Cons – In addition to launching the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung will release another highly anticipated foldable smartphone called the Galaxy Z Flip 3. While both are structurally foldable, the latter has less privileged features than the previous one. Coming from its predecessor, Galaxy Z Flip 2, it doesn’t differ much. As far as the price is concerned, it’s very expensive. Without satisfying features, it’s only interesting because of its innovative layout. For many, this phone may not be worth their money.

If you were thinking of buying the Galaxy z Flip 3 smartphone, make sure you don’t have a superior camera or powerful battery compared to its expensive price tag. While many budget phones can outperform this model in these two sections, it can make a good impact with its glossy processor and foldable screen. Also, mark your calendar on August 27, 2021 for the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G smartphone. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Review

Highlights

  1. It comes with a 6.7 Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that provides a better viewing experience.
  2. Coming with an Android 11 interface and One UI 3.5, the phone offers smooth operation.
  3. Paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and Adreno 660 graphics unit, this device is genuinely a definitive purchase for gamers.
  4. There is a 12MP dual camera on the back and a 10MP selfie camera on the front.
  5. The 3300mAh battery capacity will definitely disappoint as you perform heavier tasks on your phone.

Design and Display

You will definitely be fooled by your appearance once you pick up the phone. Not unlike its predecessor, but that kind of layout has always been an attraction for us because there aren’t that many phones like this one. You will be surprised by the colors the phone offers. There are 7 colors according to company information. If you don’t like Phantom Black or Green, there are Lavender, Cream, White, Pink, and Grey. with so many color variants, it has to be an attractive piece. Only a dual camera is set at the rear. Constructed with an aluminum frame, the fingerprint sensor is placed on the sidebar.

The main screen shows a 6.7 inches Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. If you were thinking of crystal clear displays, you’re on the right track. It displays a resolution of 1080p so you don’t have to worry about any images are working on your phone during the day, it doesn’t distract you because of the 1200 nits of screen brightness. Also, the screen is certified with HDR10+. What makes the phone more attractive is its cover Super AMOLED 1.9 inches screen.

When it is folded, it becomes comfortable to carry it in your pocket. When you fold the phone, it becomes a little GoPro camera. Although its dimensions and weight are similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 smartphone feels easier to hold, the phone weighs just 183g. Because of the water-resistance feature, you don’t need worry to get your phone wet. The inversion layout is incredibly versatile and innovative too.

Memory and Internal

While you were thinking about games, the company has already granted your wish. Except for the built-in feature, there are no such admirable specs on this model. Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, this device also comes with all similar features. Where it runs on Android 11 OS, there is a custom OneUI 3.5 interface that allows you to do a smooth operation. Also, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone offers an update for Android 12. Like other Samsung phones, you can expect 4 years of security updates. There are many features you can apply because of the combination of Android 11 and the custom interface.

Thanks to the brand, this model comes with the 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. What you didn’t get on your predecessor phones, you’ll get on the galaxy z Flip3 phone with an updated processor. The phone looks very powerful when you see that the Octa-core processor handles 1x 2.84GHz maximum clock speed. Furthermore, the presence of the Adreno 660 graphics unit improves the visual image quality. For a hands-on experience, this model is a powerhouse of built-in features.

Coming to storage, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 comes in two different variants. The basic is supported by 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the superior model offers 8GB RAM with a 256GB storage combination. Before you buy, make sure your needs, because you can not expand storage after having any variants because there is no microSD card slot.

Camera

As there isn’t such a significant feature in the camera and battery section. Every feature was added from its predecessor. The same old 12 MP main camera that is quite average at this highly expensive price tag was not to be expected on such a big budget. The secondary camera includes an ultrawide 12 MP sensor. With the software processing, you can have good quality images. Because of the presence of the OIS, you may feel satisfied, but without the gyro-EIS, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 phone looks outdated. Although you can record 4k videos, there is no stabilization feature.

As for image quality, you won’t be satisfied with night photography. Until you have some lights, you’re exempt from good performance. The camera improvement has decreased compared to software or hardware improvement.

There is a 10 MP selfie camera that is not worth your money. It is difficult to understand why the company is charging so much for these features. Colors are faded, no clarity is portrayed correctly, it looks like you’re using a low-budget smartphone in the case of photography. Even the iPhone 12 Pro is better at taking selfies with sharper image quality. The brand has a lot more to do to improve its part of the camera. Still, you can shoot 4k videos which won’t be too disappointing.

Battery and Others

As the size of the phone is smaller when you fold it, the battery needs to be smaller as well. So let me mention some features that come in the battery section. There is a Li-Po 3300 mAh battery inside the phone. You get a 25W fast charger, 11W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging capabilities. The battery section is also disappointing as it only offers 5 hours of battery life. As for company information, the brand will not ship a charger in the box, so you have to buy it separately. The price of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone is $999 (Rs 73,999).

Conclusion

With a robust and attractive design, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone does not present any major changes compared to its predecessor. If you are fascinated by the AMOLED display, you can find it on many phones of the current generation. Although it’s a huge price tag, there’s no such attractive feature except for the shiny hardware. It’s the only thing the Galaxy z Flip3 phone needs to be valued and also the interesting foldable layout. Nothing else can attract you to this model, you’ll get these specs and features on many phones at a much lower price.

If you can afford to spend 75k, you can also check out some alternatives. Two phones that can offer a big competitive advantage are the Motorola Edge 20 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with a similar budget with more advanced and superior features.
