Design and Display
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE acquires a pretty simple and clean design layout, which appears in five unique paint jobs. You can pick between the blue, graphite, gray, mint, and yellow color variants in a hassle-free manner. At the same time, there are lots of similarities to the Galaxy S23 and S24, while the company didn’t forget to add their iconic camera module. It has been there for almost three generations. Both the front and back panel offers Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, while the front 6.7-inch panel.
As far as the built quality is concerned, the sturdy aluminum frame looks stunning with a smooth grip. Whereas, the Dynamic AMOLED 2X comes with a slightly thicker bezel around the corner, which might be the best choice. If you want to enjoy the play to the full extent, use the 120Hz refresh rate settings, while HDR10+ will support content streaming thoroughly.
Apart from the clean design, the phone also offers an IP rating with a selfie lens on the front display. Following this, the rear panel attains a matte finish with smudge resistance. Because of this, the back panel has barely any grip. So, it’s recommended to use the phone with care or use a protective cover to reduce damage. Apart from this, the phone weighed around 213 grams which didn’t follow the bulkier side.
The display experience with the 1080p resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is phenomenal. The colors, contrast, and even saturation are managed properly, while the field touch response arrives with the 120Hz refresh rate. In real-time tests, the phone can offer up to 1900 nits of peak brightness in outdoor conditions. However, there are no extra brightness options like the Samsung flagship phones. Overall, the screen gives a smooth experience even though it’s not an LTPO display.
Memory and Internal
Samsung uses their native Exynos 2400e chipset, which is present in the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. But there are a few things modified in this chipset. One of them is a 10-core processor, which can push the clocking speed up to 1×3.1GHz cloaking speed. But, the Xclipse 940 GPU stays the same as the Exynos 2400. Overall, this CPU is quite powerful for almost every task whether it’s gaming or simple multitasking.
This chipset is designed to compete with the flagship segment phones, while the performance is on par with most of the premium phones. Besides this, the performance throttle doesn’t cause overheating. But prolonged testing does make the back panel slightly warm. However, the CPU might fall behind after 10 minutes of performance testing. But still, it can be considered a great powerhouse regardless of task. As for RAM and storage, Galaxy S24 FE can be purchased between 128GB to 512GB storage with a standard 8GB RAM configuration.
Now, the OneUI 6.1 custom skin offers Android 14, which might look great from a non-techie perspective. But, Google is planning to roll out the Android 15 in a few days. Hopefully, you won’t have to worry about getting a late update since the phone will receive seven years of OS updates, the same goes for security patches. Typically, the fan edition is often treated as a mid-range phone. But this time, the company treats the FE version as a flagship phone.
Though it might get a slightly delayed update, you can explore new OS features pretty soon on this phone. Apart from the custom layering, the new OneUI extensively features an AI software suite. It includes the circle to search, new Google Gemini integration, live call translation, and many other perks. However, some AI features may require a subscription by the end of 2025. In the upcoming years, you might have to spend a few to unlock the full functionality of Samsung’s AI suite.
Camera
You will find the identical triple camera system on the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE with some hardware tweaks here and there. It’s good to see that Samsung phones update the camera hardware, unlike some other brands. The camera also features a 50MP primary sensor (Samsung ISOCELL S5KGN4), which is also known as the ISOCELL GN3. These sensors have appeared in Galaxy S22, S23, and even S24 line-up phones as the primary lens.
In terms of the secondary cameras, the phone arrives with an 8MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide lens. Usually, Samsung is known to rely on its in-house 13MP sensor. But with this new ultrawide line, the users can expect the focus to be set at infinity. Although, it can be downgraded compared to its sibling. At the front display, the Galaxy S24 FE introduces a 10MP selfie sensor (Samsung S5K3J1) that can produce decent photos. But like the ultrawide lens, there’s no auto-focus.
When it comes to the real-time test, the daylight photo quality is exceptional. Each photo exudes details, while the colors are like the average Samsung phone. The image looks realistic without much editing, and the color saturation and contrast are used in a controlled manner to provide natural photos. But, it could have been better in terms of the dynamic range. As for the skin tones, the texture looks astounding, while the portraits aren’t that bad either with advanced background blur effects.
The overall colors still look great with the main camera, while surprisingly the contrast and dynamic range also look appealing. You can even like the ultrawide lens in different light scenarios without missing a single detail. Furthermore, the lowlight images overcome the noise issue and provide presentable night photos. As for the video recording, the Galaxy S24 FE goes up to 8K@30fps resolution with the primary sensors. But, most of the time, you are going to use the 4K videos to capture your life moment. But if you want to record high-end videos, this phone might be the right choice.
Battery and Others
The battery section of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is noteworthy as you are getting a 4700 mAh battery configuration, which ensures a solid screen time. In normal usage, the phone can provide up to 11 hours of usage, which is quite decent. The screen time is improved compared to the previous Galaxy S23 FE model and gives more time to content streaming and gaming. On the other hand, the device supports a 25W wired charger (needed to purchase additional).
With any conventional charger or even an official Samsung charger, the phone can refuel within 56 minutes. Depending on the battery percentage, the phone would take even less time.; Furthermore, you can also rely on the 15W wireless charging, while reverse charging is something that we weren’t expecting.
The Type-C port, which supports a USB 3.2 connection, is available at the bottom. As for the other aspect, the Samsung AI is improved with the new OneUI interface. Besides this, the device offers a stereo speaker system that gives a decent bass and crisp vocals. Overall, the speakers won’t disappoint during the loudness test, while the high-frequency presence could have been better. Last but not least, the starting price of the Galaxy S24 FE is around $650 (Rs 55,467 in India) approx.

Conclusion
There’s no denying that the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE might have great specs and flagship features. Besides we didn’t find many issues with this device. It has an impressive display, the best speakers, crisp photos, and a solid combination of software updates. Whereas, the missing autofocus in ultra-wide and selfie lenses isn’t even a major downside either. But, realistically speaking, purchasing Galaxy S24 Plus would be a smart deal since it has almost everything with a Snapdragon chipset.
If you want a similar deal, you should consider getting the Xiamoi 14T Pro at a higher price. It has arguably better display, higher brightness, Dolby Vision, fast charging, and a powerful chipset, which makes it an excellent all-rounder phone from Xiaomi. Even after this, if you still want to purchase S24 FE, consider waiting until the price drops. Till then, choose the Galaxy S24 Plus instead.
