Design and Display

There’s no denying that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series set new benchmarks for design, and the Galaxy A73 is also following the same steps. You will attain a pretty standard yet classic design layout from this phone. Though, the camera module layout is slightly different from the previous Galaxy A72 phone.

However, it doesn’t affect the overall appearance; instead, it improvises appearance into several folds. The phone starts with 181 grams and offers a slim body of 7.6mm thickness even though it offers a massive battery under the hood. Alongside this, you will receive IP67 dust/water resistant certification for the body and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen.

Moving to the front section, it’s good to see that the makers offering a 6.7-inches Super AMOLED Plus screen. With this, you will attain FHD resolution support, 800 nits HBM brightness sufficient for outdoor usage, and a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth display. Long story short, the display won’t disappoint you while you get the device in Gray, Mint, and White color options.

Memory and Internal

The processing department arrives with the 6nm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset that grants 4×2.4Ghz cloaking speed. Though it might not be on par with the flagship-level performance but it works properly in the regular scenario. Besides this, the gameplay experience with the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is good thanks to the advanced refresh rate.

On the other hand, the phone relies on the Adreno 642L GPU for the visuals and grants robust support. Aside from the visual aspects, the Galaxy A73 equips the Android 12 with a One UI 4.1 interface out of the box. With this setup, you will receive lots of customization attributes that make the user experience pretty superb. Moreover, you can implement various launchers and wallpaper to create a personalized interface experience.

The Galaxy A73 5G equips three storage variants that include 6GB to 8GB RAM, while the internal storage goes up from 128GB to 256GB. All of them do work great according to regular needs as you can easily store lots of data without running out of storage any time soon. Besides this, it also offers secondary storage, which uses the shared slot in the SIM tray.

Camera

Generally, the camera quality of the Samsung Galaxy A73 smartphone grants impressive results, and rest assured as you will attain natural photos. Although, the overall image processing quality feels a bit downgrade because sometimes the photos come out oversaturated. But still, the 108MP main camera covers details precisely with optical image stabilization.

In terms of the secondary camera setup, there is a 12MP ultra-wide lens that captures every pixel accurately. Additionally, the phone includes a 5MP macro and 5MP depth lens for dynamic range. Aside from this, you will also attain a pretty astounding 32MP selfie camera on the front. With this, you can take images even in low light appropriately.

Though the image quality varies differently for each function, the phone can easily record up to 4K videos at 30fps without any hassle. Hopefully, the phone arrives with gyro-EIS so you won’t face any shakiness during video recording from the primary camera setup. But the same thing can’t be said for the selfie camera as it lacks video stabilization software support. Still, the HDR videos come out excellent.

Still, you are getting the top-notch level comms and sensor support that will ensure that you get the best experience from this phone. Besides this, you get an under-display optical fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Now, let’s head toward the price point. Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy A73 smartphone arrives with its equal share of flaws and features. But, if you look at the whole picture, you are getting a pretty decent combination of software and specs. The display quality is great, but it lacks the HDR features, while the performance won’t feel that underwhelming.

As far as software is concerned, you won’t face many problems, and the transition between the apps is quite good. The camera section improved, and the battery renders ample screen time.

However, if you’re looking for a better alternative, you can check out the Samsung Galaxy S22, which comes with high-end specs, although its price is a little higher, it’s worth every penny invested. For the budget range, the Vivo iQOO Z6 smartphone is a good alternative that comes with a better chipset, the latest Android, and a huge battery backup. However, the final decision depends on your budget and needs.
