Samsung Galaxy A02s

Samsung Galaxy A02s Review, Pros and Cons – Korean company Samsung is ready to add a new affordable phone to its mobile catalog. It will be aimed at people who basically need a phone for normal daily use.

The Samsung Galaxy A02s smartphone succeeds the cheapest member of the company’s A-series, the Galaxy A01 core. In fact, the next-generation model comes with a ton of substantial updates and optimizations. The Samsung team enlarged the screen, embarked on an advanced processor, attached a macro lens, and more. So, let’s dive into the full review to inspect the Samsung Galaxy A02s smartphone in detail.

Samsung Galaxy A02s Review

Highlights

  1. The Galaxy A02s features a decent 6.5 inches IPS LCD panel with 720p resolution along with a modern notch.
  2. The rear panel has a shiny texture with X-shaped patterns.
  3. The device has a set of triple cameras of 13 MP as main and 5MP selfie camera.
  4. The monstrous 5000mAh Li-Po battery can easily run your device for the full day.
  5. Thanks to Samsung for including a huge battery and a 15W fast charger that would charge the battery a little faster.

Design and Display

As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy A02s arrives on the market with a shiny back with X-shaped patterns. Despite the normal plastic back, the device appears to be compact and lightweight. You can buy the device in three elegant flavors – Red, White, and Black. Note that a very thick chin fits on the bottom, which looks good considering the price range.

Turning the device around, we noticed a 6.5 inches HD PLS IPS panel that is very good at this price range. Speaking of viewing angles and contrast, the device will not disappoint you. The screen is not as vibrant and rich as AMOLED ones. In addition, there is no room for any screen saver.

Memory and Internal

In contrast to its predecessor’s Snapdragon 439 SoC, the galaxy A02s arrives with the Snapdragon 450 chipset that operates fast enough for most parts. However, you may experience occasional delays and slow application opening speeds. With the Adreno 506 graphics, you can’t play games with high configuration, but casual games are the exception. In case you need experience at the speed of light, this device is not for you.

The device opens doors to several interesting features with Android 10. Navigation, as well as UI animations, are very smooth and intuitive. Some bloatware comes pre-installed that you can remove later.

Coming to the memory section, 3 GB of RAM combined with 32 GB of internal storage are built in it. The 32 GB, a substantial amount of storage is reserved for the operating system. With that in mind, an external SD card is essential if you need to store large files.

Camera

When we turn our attention to the optics, the camera’s rectangular projection comes with a super simple set of triple 13MP cameras. The 13 MP main sniper is supported by two more camera sensors – one is a 2 MP depth sensor and the other is a 2 MP macro lens. With a lot of light, the device not only captures sharp and colorful photos but also maintains the exposure and highlights. However, the bokeh effect in portrait photos can be irregular at times. Capturing photos of small objects would be really easy with a dedicated macro lens.

The 5MP selfie camera placed in an infinite V notch should simply do its job, instead of providing some top-quality portraits. In addition, it has a facial unlock option, as you do not receive any fingerprint scanner.

Battery and Others

Compared to the Galaxy A01, Samsung takes the power unit one step further by integrating a huge Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. Plus, you get a fast 15W charger that can unsurprisingly refill the tank at a decent rate. Unfortunately, the absence of a Type-C port appears to be unusual in 2020.

Considering the phone is from a well-known brand, the $ 182 (Rs 13,000) expected price seems justified and we hope Samsung will try to bring more budget phones like this in the future.
