Realme V23i

Realme V23i Smartphone Review – The Realme V series phones usually appear in the mid-range smartphone range that can deliver decent specs according to the price range. Last year, the company launched the Realme V23, and consequently, they have unveil the Realme V23i in August 2022. Although, the release event wasn’t as majestic as the previous phones, but still, able to launch the V23i quietly in China.

But as you have guessed, this phone would not appear on the global market anytime soon. However, there are some key factors that give a slight edge over other smartphones, which we have covered in the following review. Let’s head toward the Realme V23i review to find out more details about this phone.

Realme V23i Smartphone Review

Highlights

  1. The phone arrives with a 6.56-inches IPS LCD panel with HD resolution.
  2. As for the software end, you are getting the Android 12 configuration.
  3. The performance aspect is handled through the Mediatek MT6833 Dimeisnty 700 chips.
  4. In terms of the camera setup, it will bring a 13MP dual camera with an 8MP selfie lens.
  5. A Li-Po 5000 mAh battery setup with 10W wired charging support.

Design and Display

The Realme V23i comes with a pretty decent boxy body that looks amazing and interesting. Although the phone doesn’t have that many color options, at the same time, there are only two shade options offered by the company. It includes the standard blue and black color with a matte finish.

However, you won’t notice smudges while using the phone. In terms of the built quality, you won’t find it different from the Realme V23 since the smartphone makers have used the same plastic material phones on this phone as well. It weighs around 185 grams, and the side frame is roughly 8.1 mm thick. On top of that, the company also provides a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

With this, you can enhance the security aspect of your phone. Besides this, the tiny dot notch is barely visible on the 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel that will render a 90Hz refresh rate. Not to forget, it is powered by a 720p resolution that will ensure that users can watch content of decent quality. But the brightness levels are average if you frequently use your phone outdoors.

Memory and Internal

In terms of the performance aspect, you will find the 7nm Mediatek MT6833 Dimeisity 700 chipset that is designed to work properly in regular condition. Aside from this, the chip also makes sure to grant up to 2×2.2 GHz cloaking speed that will handle all of your tasks and causal gaming sessions without much hassle. Following this, you are getting the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU that supports high-end gameplay.

However, you won’t able to push the limits to get high-end graphics and visuals. Anyway, it’s good to see that the smartphone makers bring the Android 12 interface that will grant amazing customization features of the ColorOS 12 with various additional perks from which you can easily create a personalized interface layout according to your desire without much trouble. Although, there are a few pre-install bloatware apps inside the same interface.

Hopefully, the Realme V23i arrives with ample storage to manage all of your data and support thoroughly to store your favorite media and office files in a pretty precise manner. At the same time, you are getting 128GB of internal space, which is good enough to store everything you want on this device. Besides this, the phone is also accompanied by 4GB RAM support. Moreover, you can utilize a microSD slot if you want to increase store limits.

Camera

The camera module of the Realme V23i arrives with a mediocre dual-camera setup. It includes a 13MP primary lens with a 2MP depth lens for average photography and videography aspect. Following this, the front display added an 8MP selfie lens that will support the users in clicking decent photos and videos with the help of the native camera application. Hopefully, the camera app brings various filters, functions, and features.

Moving to the real-time test, you are getting pretty solid camera results in the daylight with decent contrast and vibrant colors, which are quite good as the mid-range phones. But at the same time, the lowlight photography does feel a bit underwhelming to some extent. However, the phone delivers a portrait mode that will grant proper color saturation with decent AI software support.

Although, the phone does lack the impactful dynamic range since you won’t find any ultra-wide lens setup. As for the video recording, you can expect the phone to record up to HD+ resolution videos. However, you won’t notice proper video stabilization support because of the lower display resolution.

Battery and Others

Under the hood, the Realme V23i smartphone is accompanied by a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery with 10W wired charging support. With this combination, you can expect that the phone can easily provide up to 6+ hours of screen time for your daily activities, which includes normal social media and internet surfing with casual gaming. Strictly speaking, you can play games for more than 3+ hours without any problem.

However, the phone will roughly need an hour and a half to completely refill the battery using the Type C charger. Usually, the battery performance will be good since the UI is optimized for high performance. In terms of sound output, the standard speakers give decent results. Finally, let’s take about the price point. The phone cost around $287 (Rs 23,790 in India) approx, which is costlier than the regular affordable 5G handset.

Conclusion

The Realme V23i offers a wide range of good things, but at the same time, it isn’t able to justify the price point as the budget-friendly 5G smartphone. The main reason would be the HD resolution display, while the processing power is pretty much average. But if you are looking for a better deal, you can check out the Realme 10 Pro as a value-for-money option compared to this phone.

Besides this, the V23i is exclusive to the Chinese smartphone market, it doesn’t look like the company will bring this phone to other smartphone markets anytime soon. Moreover, we won’t recommend this phone in the first place as there are various options offered in the same price range that even deliver more exciting features under the hood.
