Realme Q3s Review, Pros and Cons – Finally, smartphone maker companies like Realme released their latest smartphone Realme Q3s on November 1, 2021, in China. The phone was officially announced however, the smartphone is still not available in India. But hope it reaches India in a few months.

The Realme Q3s smartphone is redesigned version of the Realme Q3 Pro which offers a mix of decent specs and design on its first impression. Additionally, users will receive a 5G connection as an added benefit. Without further ado, let’s start the detailed review of the Realme Q3s smartphone.

Realme Q3s Review

Highlights

  1. Probably the first phone in the budget category offering a 144Hz refresh rate along with a 6.6 inches IPS LCD screen.
  2. The 6nm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset with Adreno 642L GPU will ensure reliable functionality and good performance without a doubt.
  3. In terms of software, the phone is operating on Android 11 OS, in addition to the custom layers of Realme UI 2.0 UI.
  4. This Realme Q3s phone is equipped with a 48 MP main camera along with a 16 MP single selfie camera.
  5. The Li-Po 5000 mAh Li-Po battery with 30W fast Charger support will give you a seamless experience, from simple web browsing to a web series or during your favorite game.

Design and Display

The Realme Q3s smartphone looks beautiful with its shiny body. The body dimension of 8.5 mm can be considered a lightweight device as it weighs just 199 grams. It offers two different shades of color that you can choose according to your taste. One is Aurora which is quite decent with its decent glossy look and the other is a dark blue tone which looks quite professional.

If we’re talking about a display, it has some interesting specs to offer. This phone comes with a 6.6-inches IPS LCD display that has 600 nits brightness. The display will be brighter and you will get a blur-free high-quality screen while outdoors on sunny days. The PPI density is 401, which is a pretty good standard. It supports a 1080p high-resolution screen, all combined for you to get a crisp and sharp image and contrast on your screen.

In addition to all the above features, the most interesting part is that you will have a 144Hz refresh rate display. This high-frequency screen refresh rate will support smoother visual performance and a fast browsing experience, as well as cutting-edge gameplay and uninterrupted attendance.

Memory and Internal

The hardware section of the Realme Q3s features the 6nm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, which is capable of delivering decent processing speed in support of 5G connectivity. In addition to the octa-core, the chipset is good for daily uses.

The Realme Q3s smartphone features a 4x 2.4GHz speed in addition to the Adreno 642L GPU, ensuring you enjoy a whole new level of gaming. In fact, gamers prefer to have an Adreno GPU on their Android devices for a mesmerizing gaming experience. But in heavy gaming you may face heating issues and due to low octa-core processing speed.

Moving to the software part the Q3s phone runs on the Android 11 operating system in combination with the custom UI Realme UI 2.0 interface. It will help you with many customizations set at your fingertip.

Now you can choose the phone in 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage options. However, the interesting point to note is that, despite this huge storage, the phone also offers a dedicated micro SD card slot along with the Dual SIM tray. Overall you will get decent performance on lite games.

Camera

To be honest, the camera’s features aren’t that vibrant at this price point. However, Realme Q3s offers triple cameras with a 48MP main camera along with a 2MP macro and 2MP depth camera. It cannot guarantee many detailed photos and videos in daylight. Thus, offering a triple camera is nothing more than a small show-off.

However, as usual, the smartphone offers LED flash, HDR, and panorama features that will help take your photography and videography skills to the next level of creativity. The rear camera allows you to record video at up to 4K quality, but the lack of the EIS-swivel will make it hard to record stable video.

Compared to the rear camera, the presence of a 16 MP front camera sounds appealing. It also offers 1080 resolution video with HDR features that provide a wide range of light and dark AI tones on your face, which enhances photo quality.

Battery and Others

The huge Li-Po 5000 mAh battery looks good. This will ensure a decent screen time for more than 7-8 hours. This also offers long game sessions in addition to watching videos. However, you may face heating issues if used excessively without any gaps.

Plus, you also get a 30W charger that will fully power up your device in less than an hour with a Type-C 2.0 charging port. You will get average sound quality with a 3.5mm jack. In addition, the wi-fi, communication, and side-mounted fingerprint sensor, as well as the gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity, etc.

So finally it’s time to consider your price. The Realme Q3s arrive at a price of $225 (Rs 16,599) approx. This price doesn’t sound bad for a 5G smartphone but definitely, the phone is missing some modern specs especially with the camera and octa-core processor.
