Realme Narzo N65 Smartphone Review – The Realme Narzo N65 was announced in May 2024 for the Indian market and later went on sale at the end of that month. Realme’s Narzo smartphone usually launches in the global market as well, but it hasn’t been announced yet. The Realme Narzo N65 looks similar to other Realme phones of 2024 and features the same circular camera module on the back.
The smartphone is designed for budget users but it has 5G connectivity to make it stand out among its competition. Many smartphones released at this price range don’t have 5G, which gives this Realme smartphone a good advantage. However, 5G connectivity is just one part of the phone, and the rest of the smartphone must be equally good to be competitive in this market. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the new Realme Narzo N65 and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display
The Realme Narzo N65 has the same design language as that of other Realme phones released this year. So, it has a similar design with flat sides and a flat rear panel. The design is decent but Realme released so many phones with the same design that it has become a lot boring. Nothing is exciting about the design or the build quality. The body is completely made up of plastic.
As for the display, the smartphone has a 6.67-inch IPS display with 120Hz high refresh rate support. This is a decently accurate display and it can get as bright as 625 nits under direct sunlight, so you shouldn’t worry too much about outdoor visibility. However, the display has HD+ resolution only and the lack of FHD resolution can be a deal breaker for some people. The smartphone is available in Amber Gold and Deep Green color options. The phone is also protected against dust and water splashes with the IP54 rating.
Memory and Internal
The Realme Narzo N65 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset. This chipset has a relatively decent performance and is capable of reaching clock speeds of 2×2.4 GHz, but the chipset will not break any records for performance. This is not a performance-oriented chipset, so its processing speed won’t be that fast. However, it will have no issue running any everyday apps or games, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more.
Speaking of games, it can run most games, such as PUBG Mobile and CODm, at decent performance. The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU is more than good enough to handle those games but don’t expect it to play demanding games such as Genshin Impact. As for the OS, the smartphone comes with the latest Android 14 with a RealmeUI 5.0 user interface, which provides a lot of customization options.
The smartphone also supports 5G connectivity, which is still not found in some other phones at this price point. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 4GB/6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for microSDXC card expansion, which are usually missing in other phones.
Camera
The Realme Narzo N65 sports a 50MP sensor for the rear camera. Unlike other phones, it has a single rear camera and it can capture some decent shots with detail levels that are good enough for social media. These pictures have a saturated color tone but some people prefer that over the natural color tone.
There’s a flash that can help in extremely dark situations but that’s about it for the rear camera. For the selfie camera, there’s an 8MP sensor and it can take average selfies at best. The pictures are not too bad but it’s a very good either. When it comes to video recording, both the rear and selfie cameras can shoot at a maximum resolution of 1080p@30FPS.
Battery and Others
The Realme Narzo N65 has a 5000 mAh high-capacity battery, which can deliver 2 – 3 days of battery life with light to medium usage that includes camera, social media, texting, watching videos, and making notes. However, if you are playing a lot of games, the battery will drain a lot faster and the smartphone may not last more than a day.
For charging, there’s a 15W wired charger, which will take around 3 hours to fully charge the smartphone. The lack of decent fast charging is disappointing but is what it is. Apart from that, the smartphone has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The Realme Narzo N65 starts at $137 (Rs 11,499 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Realme Narzo N65 is a decent budget smartphone and has got all the basics right. It has an accurate display, decently good gaming performance, an excellent battery, and a modern-than-average camera performance. On top of all that, it has 5G connectivity. The phone even has the latest Android out of the box.
The smartphone also has dust and splash protection. Essentially, it’s a well-balanced smartphone for the budget category. However, the competition is tough in the market, and Realme should have priced it slightly lower knowing that. At its approximate pricing, it is in direct competition with Xiaomi Redmi 12 smartphone, which has a better display, chipset, and faster charging at around a little high price. But considering the price, we would rather recommend the Redmi 12 instead. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
