Realme C63 Smartphone Review – Realme announced the Realme C63 smartphone in May 2024 with much fanfare and went on sale in June 2024. The smartphone is available globally but it launched in India as Realme C63 and could launch with a different name in other countries as well. The phone is designed to be Realme’s newest budget smartphone, so the company had to keep the same design as its predecessor, Realme C53, to keep the costs down.
Realme wants it to be very competitive against other smartphones with the same price tag, they have also launched the Realme C63 in a 5G variant with some upgrades. So, let’s begin with a detailed review of the Realme C63 smartphone and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display
Smartphone makers do a lot of research before designing a smartphone, but it requires a lot of resources that Realme can’t waste on a budget smartphone. In Realme C63, the company went with the same design as its predecessor. It has a flat design with a matte/leather finish. It is available in two colors, Leather Blue and Jade Green.
As the name suggests, the Leather Blue color variant has a leather finish on the rear panel, while the other color variant is completely made of plastic. The sides and the edges of phones are flat and the overall construction of the phone looks solid. As for the design, it looks quite elegant and people will have a hard time believing it’s a budget phone.
On the front, you will find the 6.75-inch IPS display with 90Hz high refresh rate support for a smooth user experience. Fortunately, Realme went with an FHD+ panel, so there’s no compromise here. The display panel also gets adequately bright at 560 nits under direct sunlight, so you shouldn’t have any issues using the smartphone outdoors.
Memory and Internal
Realme C63 is equipped with the Unisoc Tiger T612 4G SoC, which is not the best but not the worst either. The chipset used to be very popular in smartphones back in the day but is getting older now. However, it is still available on budget smartphones like this phone. This chipset is capable of reaching up to 2×1.8 GHz clock speed, so it has just enough performance to run all your daily apps, such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, and more, on the smartphone without any major issues.
This chipset has the Mali-G57 GPU that can run some low-level games like Temple Run or Candy Crash at relatively smooth framerates but nothing more than that. Don’t try running games like Genshin Impact or even PUBG mobile since the performance will be unbearably slow.
As for network connectivity, the smartphone only supports up to 4G and there is a separate 5g model available in the market. When it comes to the software, the Realme C63 is running on Android 14 OS with RealmeUI 5.0, which offers way more customization options. For RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 4GB/6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The Realme C63 also has a headphone jack, which is incredibly hard to find these days.
Camera
Realme has equipped the Realme C63 with a 50MP single-camera system. The main 50MP camera is capable of capturing pictures with decent detail levels and high dynamic range. The Auxiliary lens is just for show and doesn’t do anything special.
At the front of the Realme C63, there’s an 8MP sensor that takes some selfies that can be called good enough for the price tag. As for video recording, the Realme C63 can shoot at a maximum of 1080p@30 FPS from the rear camera and 720p@30 FPS from the selfie cameras, but there’s no form of stabilization.
Battery and Others
The Realme C63 has a huge 5000mAh non-removable battery that can provide a decent battery backup to impress its users. The smartphone can easily last for 2 – 3 days on a single charge. This is obviously with low to medium usage but with gaming, the battery will not last in the same manner. It will drain faster and you will be lucky if it lasts a full day.
However, the smartphone supports 45W wired fast charging, which will help you fully charge the smartphone in under two hours. This charger will also come bundled in the box, so you don’t need to purchase it separately. Besides that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $126 (Rs 10,490 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Realme C63 is one of the most balanced phones we have seen in a while. It has a decent display, great battery life, and cameras that are good enough for social media posting. Even though the chipset is manageable, it is no way fast. Other smartphones in the same price range offer better chipsets.
There’s also a 5G variant available, because 5G is quickly becoming a necessity in this day and age, and the lack of 5G is a big issue in 2024, these specs are okay in this price range and you can purchase this smartphone. However, there’s one phone that has even better specs than this smartphone at around the same price range. That’s none other than the Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro, which has better specs all around for a low price tag. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
