Realme C25Y

Realme C25Y Review, Pros and Cons – Realme released a couple of smartphones in September so it was a busy time for them. Along with the Realme C25Y, they launched the Realme 8 series and Realme Bluetooth speakers. It is great news for all Realme lovers around the world. Although the brand is not yet relaxed, they have a lot of plans for this year. In this article, we’ll review the Realme C25Y smartphone released in September 2021.

Coming with a decent screen, standard camera, and also a powerful battery, the Realme C25Y could be a good buy in a low-budget section. As this phone is the lite version of Realme C25, the internal features are below average, with many underprivileged features. As there are many smartphones launched by the brand, this phone may be skeptical of success. So let’s start the detailed review of the Realme C25Y smartphone.

Realme C25Y Review

Highlights

  1. It comes with a 6.5 inches IPS screen which is pretty standard.
  2. With the help of Android 11 OS, you can expect a good amount of smoothness in every operation.
  3. The 12nm Unisoc T610 chipset gives a below-average performance.
  4. Powered by a triple camera, it has a 50MP primary camera on the back panel.
  5. With the Li-Po 5000mAh battery, you can last at least 48 days in standby mode.

Design and Display

The Realme C25Y smartphone comes with a simple layout, but the design is quite different from many of its other models. Where the Glacier Blue model provides a relaxing feeling to the eyes, the Metal Gray option comes as a lackluster variant. The horizontal pattern strip is quite unique this time around. Whether you like the layout or not, the two models don’t seem to appeal to users. The plastic frame on the rear panel consists of a triple camera that covers a very small space. Also, the fingerprint sensor is located on the back panel.

On the other hand, the screen part doesn’t attract users much either. It comes with a 6.5 inches IPS screen that can at least satisfy your satisfaction with a moderate viewing experience. It has a resolution of 720p with a density of 270 PPI, so if you check out your alternatives, you’re sure to find a better solution. In fact, the 420 nits of brightness don’t meet our needs at the right time either. If you look at the alternatives in our conclusions section, you will find better options for the same budget.

Unfortunately, Realme does not offer any protection for C25Y. Where water/dust resistance has been a necessary feature, Realme seems to be going backward. Also, the phone does not come with a gorilla glass cover. In fact, the model is much heavier than others weighing 200g. The sidebar is 9.1mm thick. This makes the phone a little thicker than its alternatives.

Memory and Internal

If you’re not convinced not to buy the phone, then this is another section that can demotivate you the most. Just to satisfy its need for a performance-oriented phone, Realme kept the Android 11 operating system at its core. You will be relieved to have lags or bloatware. In addition, Realme UI R famous custom interface that is suitable for all users. This combination is definitely a good combination. What is missing is the chipset and the speed of the Octa-core processor.

The Realme C25Y smartphone comes with an entry-level 12nm Unisoc T610 chipset which is the below-average chipset Realme has ever offered. Where the brand is known for offering incredible eye-catching internal features, the C25Y doesn’t seem to deliver on its promise.
If you are addicted to games, it is recommended to stay away from this device. The Octa-core processor does not help speed up performance. It offers 1.8GHz maximum clock speed, where you can find the best speed with your alternatives. Fortunately, with the help of the Mali-G52 graphics unit, you can expect slightly better visual quality.

There is only one variant which is 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. According to the price, this combination is acceptable, but in the current market, it is not the best choice. Where RAM can be a little underprivileged, internal storage offers a broader scope. You will find relief if you use your dedicated microSD card to expand your storage capacity.

Camera

The brand has always been concerned with the camera section. This time they too kept their promise. With a triple camera, the Realme C25Y offers a dynamic range of quality images. Along with the effects, you can try out your 50 MP main camera. No doubt about the capability of the main camera. You’ll definitely get some crystal clear drool-worthy photos. Whether in daylight or at night, every time, the main camera along with its autofocus mode will give you some remarkable shots.

The addition of the 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors respectively gives you a broader scope to use your imagination through photos. There’s no tension in losing clarity, but the absence of the OIS feature can be a little frustrating at times.

On the other hand, there is an 8 MP selfie which is not a better feature either, but it can be adjusted according to the price level. Because of the selfie camera with AI, you can capture some realistic photos, but it can be de-motivating in night conditions.

Where the primary allows recording videos of 1080p maximum, the selfie camera is capable of recording videos of 720p maximum. As there is no gyro-EIS, be sure to handle the camera with care. If you are against the phone then you can check out our alternatives which offer many advanced cameras with facilities suitable for a similar budget. It is advisable not to buy the Realme C25Y just depending on the camera’s specifications.

Battery and Others

The famous Li-Po 5000mAh battery is inside the phone. It can meet your long-standing needs for watching videos or playing games. You can get 2 days of battery life under normal use and 8 hours of screen time. Packed with an 18W fast charger, the Realme C25Y proves to be a good companion for you. You can buy the Realme C25Y smartphone at the expected price of $150 (Rs 11,999) at any online or offline store.
