Realme 14 Pro Plus

Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus Smartphone Review – The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus were announced in January 2025 and started shipping a week later. The two phones have launched globally in many countries already and will arrive at more in the coming months. Both smartphones have premium specs inside, including the fastest 5G connectivity, to deliver a great experience.

The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus also feature a design that looks eerily similar to its predecessor, the Realme 13 series. The only different thing is the camera module design, which looks a bit better now. Realme believes the newly upgraded hardware specs would be enough to attract new buyers but remains to be seen. Let’s begin with a detailed review of both Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus and see if these smartphones are worth purchasing.

Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus Smartphone Review

  4. The Realme 14 Pro features a 50MP dual rear camera system, while the Realme 14 Pro Plus is equipped with a 50MP triple rear camera system. The former has a 16MP selfie camera, while the latter has a 32MP selfie sensor.

Design and Display

The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus’s design looks similar to its predecessors Realme 13 Pro and 13 Pro Plus but has some nice refinements to keep it interesting. The side panels of the two phones are more chamfered, which results in better grip. However, the side frame, mid-frame, and the rear panel are still made of plastic.

The lack of glass or metal is really disappointing, especially considering older phones in the Realme Pro lineup used to have glass rear panels. We were expecting a change in design or a refresh at least but that’s not the case it seems. Realme has used this design with a circular camera module in almost all of their new phones since 2024 and made it seem quite generic.

The Realme 14 Pro comes in Pearl White, Jaipur Pink, and Suede Grey colors, while the Realme 14 Pro Plus is available in Pearl White, Suede Gray, and Bikaner Purple. As for the display, the Realme 14 Pro has a 6.77-inch FHD+ OLED display, while the Realme 14 Pro Plus has a 6.83-inch FHD+ OLED screen. Both screens have support for a 120Hz high refresh rate, which will deliver a smooth user experience.

Apart from that, the displays also have support for up to 1 billion colors, which allows for a higher color reproduction and better viewing experience. Both Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are also protected against dust and water with the IP68/69 certifications. They also feature MIL-STD-810H certification, so the two phones can survive in harsh environments.  The display of Realme 14 Pro Plus is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, so you don’t have to worry about scratches.

Memory and Internal

The Realme 14 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 4×2.5 GHz. On the other hand, the Realme 14 Pro Plus features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 1×2.5 GHz. Both chipsets deliver a similar level of performance, more or less.

No matter what apps or games you run on this chipset, the two chipsets will deliver a smooth performance, including apps like No matter what apps or games you run on this chipset, it won’t slow down. Even games like PUBG, Summoners War, CODm, Genshin Impact, Black Desert Mobile, and others will run at high graphical fidelity.

Both smartphones have 5G connectivity, so you will get the fastest 5G speeds on these two smartphones, and you will be able to download things at gigabit-level speeds. As for RAM and storage, the Realme 14 Pro has 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB of RAM and internal storage.

On the other hand, the Realme 14 Pro Plus has 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB of RAM and internal storage. As for the OS, the Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are running on the latest Android 15 out-of-the-box with a Realme UI 6 user interface for more customization and better user experience.

Camera

The Realme 14 Pro features a 50MP dual rear camera system, while the Realme 14 Pro Plus has a 50MP triple rear camera system. The two phones have the same main camera but different secondary camera sensors. Let’s start with the primary camera. The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus have the same 50MP primary camera with OIS. This camera took some fantastic pictures with detail levels that surpassed what we initially expected.

The primary camera of the two phones is quite impressive and the pictures captured with it have great detail level, accurate color tones, high dynamic range, and superb white balance. The Realme 14 Pro has only one other secondary camera and that’s a 2MP depth camera, which is not very useful.

Let’s talk about the secondary cameras of Realme 14 Pro Plus. It has a 50MP periscopic telephoto camera, which can shoot at 3x zoom levels. The images taken from this camera look quite good with a lot of details in them and a natural color tone. The third camera of the Realme 14 Pro Plus has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, which also takes some decent pictures with a 112° field of view, but there can be a bit of tiny shift in colors in some scenarios compared to the other two cameras.

For the selfie camera, the Realme 14 Pro has a 16MP sensor and the Realme 14 Pro Plus has a 32MP. While there is a difference in megapixels between the two selfie cameras, it is negligible in real-world shots. Both sensors are capable of taking some fantastic selfies with high detail levels and natural color tones. The selfies also look better than other smartphones in the same price range.

As for video recording, both the Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus can record videos at up to 4K@30FPS from their rear cameras. However, this changes when it comes to the selfie camera. The selfie camera of Realme 14 Pro Plus can record at 4K@30FPS, but the Realme 14 Pro is limited to just 1080p@30FPS. The rear cameras of the two phones have both OIS and gyro-EIS, which results in stable video footage when shooting videos. However, the selfie camera has neither OIS nor gyro-EIS, so the video footage won’t be as stable as the rear cameras.

Battery and Others

Both Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus have a 6000 mAh battery, which is capable of providing 2 – 3 days’ worth of battery life with light usage that includes some texting, calling, movies, music, and more but not gaming. However, if you play video games for long sessions, then the battery will drain faster and neither smartphone will last a full day.

When it comes to charging, the Realme 14 Pro has support for only 45W wired fast charging, which can charge the battery to 50% in just 36 minutes. On the other hand, Realme 14 Pro Plus has 80W wired fast charging, which can charge the battery to 50% in only 24 minutes. Apart from that, both smartphones have Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The Realme 14 Pro is available for a starting price tag of $247 (Rs 21,499 in India) approx, while the Realme 14 Pro Plus is available starting at $322 (Rs 27,999 in India) approx.

Conclusion

Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are two fantastic mid-range phones. They are equipped with all the hardware components a mid-range phone needs to have and then some, and they deliver a fantastic user experience. Whether it’s the build quality, display, chipset, camera, battery, or charging speed, they are all excellent in Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus.

Let’s start with the display. These two phones have one of the brightest displays seen in a smartphone and the picture quality looks fantastic. The chipsets are also quite fast, and you can run some of the most graphically demanding games without issues. The camera performance of the Realme 14 Pro Plus is exceptional and punches above its price class.

Even the battery and charging capabilities are quite good. The only caveats of the two phones are their design build quality and design, which has become a bit stale in 2025. However, considering the price they launched at, the Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are both excellent phones, and we can easily recommend them.

The difference between the Realme 14 Pro and Realme 14 Pro Plus is that the latter has a slightly larger display, way better camera experience, and faster charging. The only decent alternatives to these two phones are Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro+. They have specs similar to the Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus but at similar prices. The final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
