The smartphone was designed for users who are on a strict budget but Oukitel still managed to include 5G connectivity and a few other interesting features to make the smartphone more appealing to the users in that price bracket. Let’s begin with a detailed review of the Oukitel C50 and see if this smartphone is worth purchasing.

Design and Display
The Oukitel C50 is built with tough materials. The entire body is made out of plastic but it is built like a rock and is quite durable. Oukitel says it can easily survive drops to the concrete from a height of 0.8m, so it won’t break easily. It has a flat design that is quite grippy and won’t slip out of your hands easily.
The design of the camera module is similar to iPhones and looks nice with the colors of the phone. The phone is available in Grey, Green, and Blue color options. Unfortunately, there’s no dust or water protection, but the display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Speaking of display, it has a 6.8-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution. The lack of FHD+ could be a deal breaker for some users, so keep that in mind. The panel can get as bright as 400 nits of brightness level under direct sunlight, which is not that bright and you may have issues using the phone outdoors.
Memory and Internal
The Oukitel C50 is equipped with the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 5G chipset, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of up to 2×2.2GHz. This chipset has enough horsepower to deliver a smooth experience. It is quite a capable chipset and this kind of performance can be seen on the gaming side as well.
The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU can run games like PUBG mobile, Summoners War, and CODm with smoother framerates. You can even play Genshin Impact but only with Low or Medium graphics settings. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, so expect gigabit speeds and low latency in multiplayer games.
The heat dissipation is also quite good and the smartphone never overheats. The phone runs on Android 14 with a stock user interface that provides a great user experience. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There’s also support for a microSDXC card, so you can expand the internal storage later. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming increasingly rare these days.
Camera
The Oukitel C50 comes with a 50MP triple rear-camera system. The main camera with a 50MP sensor can take some decent enough pictures with vibrant colors. However, it’s not going to break any records. The picture from this camera looks decent enough to be published on social media platforms.
On the front of the Oukitel C50, there’s a 5MP sensor that can take some average selfies. It’s not good but gets the job done. As for video recording, the Oukitel C50 can shoot at a maximum resolution of 1080p@30FPS from the rear camera and 720@30FPS from the selfie camera. There’s no EIS or any other form of video stabilization.
Battery and Others
The Oukitel C50 has a Li-Po 5150 mAh high-capacity battery that can deliver a great battery life that can comfortably last for 2 – 3 days with light and medium usage that includes some calling, texting, camera, and watching movies. This is a great battery life that is possible only due to the large battery capacity and the highly efficient chipset that uses very little power. However, if you play a lot of games, then the battery will not last that long and will drain faster.
Unfortunately, the smartphone doesn’t support any form of fast charging. It only has support for a standard 10W wired fast charging, which is extremely slow and fully charging such a massive battery may take around 3 – 4 hours or slightly more. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, OTG, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is currently available for purchase at just $132 (Rs 11,099 in India) approx.

Conclusion
The Oukitel C50 is a decent phone considering the price. It has a fantastic design that will surely impress many people and it is also a lot tougher than other phones in the same price range. The chipset also has a decent gaming performance considering the price bracket. The battery is also quite good and will last a long time.
But best of all, it has 5G connectivity, something many other phones still don’t have. Considering the above specs, the pricing would have been pretty good but unfortunately, the lack of FHD+ resolution, fast charging, and water resistance leaves a sad taste in the mouth. Other phones are providing all that in the same price range.
For example, the Realme Narzo 70x costs around the same as the Oukitel C50 but it provides an FHD+ display, water resistance, fast charging, and a few more features. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
