In this article, we will focus mainly on the Oppo Reno 5 Pro smartphones. We have already covered the detailed review of the Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro Plus. Therefore, we will move on to the full review, where we will discuss everything.
Oppo Reno 5 Pro Review
- Reno 5 Pro devices have 90 Hz OLED screens with an excellent ratio between screen and body.
- 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 technology allows you to charge your battery in less than an hour.
- Smartphones host a 64 MP quad-camera to take pictures from various perspectives.
- You don’t have to worry about unlocking when you get a fingerprint reader on the display.
- The built-in shiny processors will help you do all the heavy tasks.
Design and Display
On the one hand, the Reno 5 5G comes equipped with a flat-screen, while the Oppo Reno 5 Pro version leads with a curved screen. In addition, the premium glass on the back contains a modern quad-camera setup and you will have no problem handling phones. The main construction advantage of the Pro variant is it is slim aesthetic and appreciable balanced. However, the high impact of the camera can bother you while keeping your phone at rest.
Returning to the display, the Full HD+ OLED screen, measuring 6.55 inches on the Reno 5 Pro. The screen is incredibly beautiful to look at and offers many crisp and vivid visuals. If you are wondering about smoothness, then you can easily rely on the 90 Hz refresh rate, without motion blur. In addition, the screen is surrounded by very elegant bezels in order to provide an immersive experience and you will notice a small hole positioned in the upper left corner.
Memory and Internal
The Reno 5 Pro model comes with Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ which can provide first-class performance. With these state-of-the-art processors, you can do almost anything, from next-generation games to video editing. Now, people can go to the Reno 5 series, as they were not satisfied with the previous series due to the reduced performance.
Switching to the software, Oppo’s latest ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 will not disappoint you, unlike previous generations. The custom UI is very well optimized and offers a set of features like Flexdrop, mini music studio, customizable dark mode, instant translation, Quantum Animation Engine 2.0, etc. There is a special battery protection feature that helps to extend battery life.
Both devices must be sold in-memory variants, that is, 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage and 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage. It is also important to note that the storage type is UFS 2.1, which apparently would allow faster data access speeds. On the negative side, there is no room to expand storage using an external SD card.
Thanks to Oppo for implementing the same 64 MP quad-camera hardware set on Reno 5 pro phone. By keeping the main 64MP sensor separate, you can take wide shots using an 8MP ultrawide angle lens. In addition, two more 2 MP sensors are stacked on the module to increase camera numbers. Frankly, companies should focus on software and camera processing, rather than adding unnecessary sensors.
Anyway, the quality of the primary snapper is very good and sometimes supersaturated, but you would be satisfied with it. However, you may notice a lack of consistency when clicking on photos in terms of colors and details, but we get bright and sharp images. Talking about the dynamic range, you would love to sunsets photograph and captivating landscapes with excellent lights and shadows.
Coming to the 32MP selfie camera, the device offers very vibrant selfies with adequate exposure and skin tones. With beauty mode on, selfies look a little artificial, but these things sometimes depend on personal choices.
Battery and Others
The Reno 5 Pro extracts all the necessary energy from a competent 4350mAh battery, which is ignitable. On the charging front, one of the outstanding features is the extremely fast 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charger. It offers one of the fastest charging speeds, taking the phone from an empty battery to 100% charge in just 30 minutes. Under the hood, a fingerprint reader on the display allows you to unlock and go to the home screen with a touch of your thumb.

- 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging.
- First-rate 5G chipsets.
- 90Hz OLED screen.
- UFS storage 2.1.
- Super clear 32MP selfie camera.
- Under the display fingerprint reader.
- Wide range of colors available.
- Reverse charging.
- Both cameras come with EIS stability.
- Decent performance speed.
- 5g support.
- No 3.5 mm audio connector.
- SD card slot not available.
- Without Gorilla glass protection.
- Lack of wireless charging.
- Absence of IP68 water and dust resistance.
- Little overpriced.
In short, Oppo Reno 5 Pro would attract everyone’s attention due to its phenomenal specifications. 65W charging has always been an advantage over other rivals. In addition, the company made the device available in a wide range of colors to make it easier for buyers to purchase. However, we don’t see Gorilla glass protection, which is a little disappointing. As we do not have wireless charging and any protection so $400 (30,000 INR) price range looks expensive.
