The ThinkPhone 25, released in October 2024, has a smaller 6.36-inch P-OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. Both phones share IP68 water and dust resistance and are MIL-STD-810H compliant for drop resistance, making them rugged and durable in tough environments.

The ThinkPhone runs on Android 13 with a planned upgrade to Android 14, while the ThinkPhone 25 starts with Android 14 and promises up to five major Android upgrades, making it more future-proof. In terms of performance, the ThinkPhone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with a 1×3.19GHz core, offering strong performance for gaming and multitasking. The ThinkPhone 25 uses the newer MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, clocked at 4×2.5GHz, which is slightly less powerful but still delivers smooth performance.

Camera capabilities differ between the two models. The ThinkPhone features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor, capable of recording in 8K with gyro-EIS. The ThinkPhone 25 also has the same primary camera and ultrawide camera but a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Both phones have a 32MP front camera for selfies and support 68W wired charging with 15W wireless charging. The ThinkPhone has a larger 5000mAh battery, while the ThinkPhone 25 comes with a 4310mAh battery, meaning the older ThinkPhone offers slightly longer battery life.

However, the ThinkPhone 25 is more affordable, $476 (Rs 39,999 in India) approx, compared to the ThinkPhone’s $775 (Rs 65,153 in India) approx, making it a more budget-friendly option while still providing solid features. Overall, the ThinkPhone 25 offers a more compact and updated experience, while the ThinkPhone provides better performance and battery life at a higher price.
