Motorola Moto G100

Motorola Moto G87 Specifications

The Motorola Moto G87 is announced for late April 2026 and hits shelves in mid-May. It is a big phone 6.78 inches tall and surprisingly slim at just 7.3mm thick, weighing 183 grams. That is light for a phone with a large screen. The front has tough Gorilla Glass 7i, the frame is plastic, and the back uses a silicone polymer (eco-leather) finish, which feels soft and premium. It is also seriously durable IP68/IP69 rated, meaning it can survive dust, being dunked in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes, and even high pressure water jets. Plus, it meets MIL-STD-810H military standards for drops and temperature changes. You get two SIM options (Nano-SIM + eSIM or dual Nano-SIM), and it supports 2G through 5G networks so it is future proof for fast speeds.

The display is a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED with 1 billion colors, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an eye-popping 5000 nits peak brightness great for sunlight reading. The resolution is 1272 x 2772 pixels, sharp at about 450 pixels per inch. Under the hood, it runs Android 16 with a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip (6nm). That is an octa-core processor two fast 2.5GHz cores and six efficient 2.0GHz cores, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. Storage options start at 256GB (up to 512GB) with 8GB or 12GB RAM, plus a microSD card slot (shares the second SIM slot). The main camera is a huge 200MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) for crisp shots, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide. Selfies come from a 32MP front camera. The video recording is limited to 1440p (Quad HD) at 30fps. It does not support 4K, but the quality is good enough for most people.

You get a 5200 mAh battery with 30W wired charging not the fastest but decent for a full day’s use. Other nice touches include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C 2.0, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. NFC is available depending on your region, but there is no FM radio. The phone comes in two Pantone-inspired colors – Overture and Blue Atoll and the price is set at $262 (Rs 25,000 in India). That is an attractive mid-range deal for a 5G phone with a 200MP camera, rugged build, and a brilliant display. Perfect if you want durability and high-end screen quality without breaking the bank.

Motorola Moto G87 Pros and Cons

Based on the above specs, you can see the list of pros and cons (advantages and disadvantages) of the Motorola Moto G87 smartphone.

Pros

  1. The phone features a massive 200 MP main camera with OIS (optical image stabilization). This means you can take extremely detailed and sharp photos, even in low light or if your hands shake a little.
  2. The display reaches 5000 nits peak brightness, which is exceptionally high. You will have no trouble seeing the screen clearly even under direct summer sunlight.
  3. It has IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, surviving high-pressure water jets and immersion up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. You can safely use it in heavy rain or wash it under a tap.
  4. You get up to 512GB internal storage with 12GB RAM options, plus a microSD card slot. This gives you plenty of space for thousands of photos, videos, and apps without slowing down.
  5. The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen supports 1 billion colors and 120Hz refresh rate. Scrolling through social media and watching videos will look incredibly smooth and vibrant.
  6. The 5200 mAh battery combined with a power-efficient 6nm processor lets you easily get a full day or more of heavy use, like gaming, video calls, and GPS navigation.

Cons

  1. The charging speed is only 30W wired, which is quite slow for 2026.
  2. It has no 3.5mm headphone jack. You cannot plug in traditional wired earphones unless you use a USB-C adapter, which is an extra purchase.
  3. The chipset is MediaTek Dimensity 6400 on 6nm technology, which is a budget-to-midrange processor.
  4. Video recording maxes out at 1440p (2.7K) at 30fps, not 4K. Many cheaper phones now record 4K video, so this feels outdated for 2026.
  5. NFC is listed as (market/region dependent), meaning some countries will not get contactless payment features like Google Pay.
