Motorola Moto G41

Motorola Moto G42 Smartphone Review- Motorola Moto G42 is the successor of the last year’s Moto G41, which has a similar design structure and features. Both of the phones look practically similar, except for the camera module, while the major improvement takes place in the hardware section, where you are getting a new and powerful chipset. Aside from this, the phone was released in the European market in June 2022.

It also make its debut in July 2022 in the Indian smartphone market. Usually, the G-series phones equip mid-range level specs, which embrace the stock android user interface with ample performance configuration. Although, there’s no denying that the phone lacks custom software support. Despite this, if you prefer clean UI, you will definitely like this phone. With that being said, let’s head toward the Motorola Moto G42 review to discover the true worth of this phone.

Motorola Moto G42 Smartphone Review

  5. Lastly, a massive Li-Po 5000 mAh battery fuel the entire system with an 18W standard charging unit.

Design and Display

The Motorola Moto G42 smartphone arrives with a pretty standard and simple design with the company branding on the back panel. The overall appearance might not stand out much compared to other smartphone brands, where you will find a fancy layout with various colors variant to choose from. Hopefully, Motorola is providing two amazing shade options.

They have Atlantic Green and Metallic Rose, both look pretty appealing and have their uniqueness. You can pick anyone that fits best according to your desire. Aside from this, the overall built quality of the Motorola Moto G42 is worth noting even though it got a cheap plastic body. Anyway, the phone weighs 175 grams, which is considerably good.

However, the 8-mm thick side panel also holds a fingerprint scanner, which ensures the security factor of this phone. Moving to the front display, the thin bezels give a better view, while the tiny dot notch is particularly invisible while watching content. The Moto G42 has a 6.4-inches AMOLED that renders polished colors with an immersive contrast experience. All of that with water repellent coating.

Memory and Internal

The performance section inside the Motorola Moto G42 is powered through a 6nm Qualcomm SM 6225 Snapdragon 680 4G chipset, which is known for its stable performance in mid-range phones. Although, you won’t get 5G connectivity privileges with this chip. But still, if you are not living in the metropolitan cities and don’t have any plan to replace the phone in the upcoming two years, the processor will work great.

Aside from this, we have tried some games with this phone such as Call of Duty and Genshin Impact. Both of them work properly, yet as always, the resolution and graphic quality feel slightly underwhelming. In terms of the software end, the company renders the latest Android 12 out of the box. With the Motorola interface, you will obtain a near-stock android experience.

Although, there’s no denying the phone doesn’t have many customization options. However, the simplicity makes the overall users experience interesting and appealing. On a side note, the Moto G42 arrives with 4GB RAM support, which will precisely handle your daily tasks. Besides this, you can choose between 64GB to 128GB of internal storage. Moreover, the company also provides a dedicated secondary storage unit.

Camera

The camera optic center includes a classic 50MP triple camera setup, which includes a 50MP lens as the primary camera. Most of the photos and videos will capture via this lens. Besides this, we tested the camera in a different scenario, and we got acceptable results in the proper daylights. Sadly, grains are visible in the night photos, which is more or less expected from this phone.

The image processing algorithm works great with the main lens. However, the camera quality drastically drops when you switch from the main camera to 8MP ultra-wide lens. Though you might not attain fine details with the ultrawide lens, but it won’t disappoint when it comes to dynamic range. Lastly, the camera module has a 2MP macro lens to add more depth to the photos.

Alongside this, a 16MP selfie camera appears on the front display. The native camera has numerous features from which you can add more layers of filters to your photos and videos. In terms of video recording, the phone can effortlessly support 1080p resolution video recording at 30fp. Although, you won’t receive any stabilization software support on Moto G42.

Battery and Others

As for the battery life matter, the phone is providing a colossal size Li-Po 5000 mAh battery setup. With that much battery capacity, you can easily get more than 6+ hours of screen time for your daily activities. The phone will only take an hour and roughly 45-minutes to refuel the battery using an 18W fast charger support. Moreover, the phone can stay active for more than a day after a single charge.

Aside from this, the phone has superb sound output as it got a stereo speaker with Dobly atoms to support it. And it provides a 3.5 mm jack. In terms of the additional sensor and features, there’s nothing that stands out from the competition. Finally, let’s talk about the most important part. The Motorola Moto G42 cost around $375 (Rs. 29,000 in India), while it is priced at 209.99 euros in the European market.

The Motorola Moto G42 is well defined 4G phone for sure, while at the same time, the near-stock android will render one of the cleanest UI experiences in the Android ecosystem, after pixel phones. It’s basically a phone that has subtle specs according to the price point. However, it can’t be denied that there are a few phones that provide 5G connectivity in the same price range.
